after i left the gym i headed out to shoppers food werehouse. to buy meat to cook with and so i was in the meat department and i was alone there. i was sorting out the meat and checking out the prices. when like out of the blue this man comes up to me and  i think he was the manager,in very serious tone he asked me " cani help with something"  and i said no i was checking out the prices. then he walked away. and i had this horrible feeling in the pit of stomach. he must of thought  oh his latino and has a gym bag  and his probably gonna be stealing. which is not the case at all. i felt so dumbfounded by the whole experiance and mind you i am  loyal customer there.  i went ahead and bought what i need to buy and i got out of there fast  and without think  i headed back to the gym, i didnt know what to think. i came across this really nice black lady thati see every morning and so i told her what had happen and shes like " yea the devil is everywhere hunny" and shes a very pritual person and i understood what she was saying..

bloggers out there has gone through anything similar  to what i went though, have any advise or just words of wisdom please let know thank you

I'm sorry that happened to you, but you have to put yourself in the shoes of the store before you get angry. We don't live in a world where there is only one store in town and the storekeeper knows everyone who purchases goods from him. To the store clerk/manager, you were just some guy with a gym bag who might have something on his mind other than making a purchase.

Also, if I'm at a mall and I have a couple of shopping bags, when I enter a new store, I go to the desk and ask the clerk to hold my bags behind the desk while I shop in their store. Maybe you might want to do that the next time, you go directly from a gym to shopping.

About two weeks ago on tru TV, there was a segment about a man getting arrested for filling up, yes, his gym bag, with food stolen from a grocery store. When he was being questioned by the police, while on camera, he acted like he did absolutely nothing wrong and he helped himself quite often. While I feel sorry you are embarrassed, but you should not feel angry. Every AH that steals from stores only causes the rest of us to make up the difference by the store charginhg higher prices. Like caffeinated-cow says, next time check or leave the gym bag in your car. Having worked in a retail store in my younger years, the first person to peak your interest, and keep an eye on, is the one that is at one point in a store for an inordinate amount of time, 'looking.' And granted you had no intention of stealing anything, I hope, the manager was only protecting the interests of the store and his job.

Ok, my first question to you, is why did you take your gym bag into the store in the first place? Second, if you in fact actually bought meat, then how could you have went back to the gym afterwards? Meat in the gym bag? Wouldn't it spoil? I think this is another attempt of someone just trying to get the racism bull pukey riled up on here. I don't believe this happened at all. If it did, you obviously should have asked for help, because from how you speak and write, you can't understand English well, so maybe you could have asked the manager to help you read the packaging. God, some people.

not to sound completely naive or anything but when a worker in a store asks "can I help you with something" maybe they are just doing their job and asking you "if they can help you with something", I'm sorry but nothing in your story says RACISM to me....
