I have read some  blogs on the beating of one girl by a group of girls. Some people, are in favor of throwing the book at the girls for the beating, some compare the crime to how blacks get harsher times often in crimes like this, some think the girls need no time but treatment.

We should not have to be in this wide disagreement in this discussion. To be fair the time for this type of crime should already be known, if found guilty, just as we know before we purchase gas, the price you have to pay  at a station, it's posted. I have stated before, that 's one way to make similar crimes fair without regard for wealth, race, or postion in life.

Life for this crime should not even be consider, 30 to 50 years is out of bounds, some people who kids are not charge in this or simillar crime, may think harsher times to serve as being fair, but if  one of these were your daughter, you would be on Larry King's show sobbing, my little girl is so sweet, she does not deserve anytime ... be real.

Now here is the real deal, these girls if found guilty, should not have their life ruin for the rest of their life,  should not be charge as adults, meaning no 30, 50, or life. From what I know of the case, the time for this type of planning and carrying out this crime, the injuries suffer, should be somewhere between 4 to 8 years with 5 to 10 years probation after release. And yes they need treatment while serving time.

Only in MURDER should life be one of the given.

Okay Snitch:

I hear what you are saying but why should leniency be given to these young ladies as this was a premeditated act, they specifically beat the living crap out of this girl all for fame and fortune on YOUTUBE, for fifteen minutes of fame and thousands of hits this act was accomplished. Why not throw the book at them to teach others a lesson that you cannot do something of this nature just to become famous. In taking your stance on this issue, you are basically telling these girls that this type of behavior is fine, hell blacks get more time than you are suggesting for stealing, although that may be a stretch but you get my point.

Afterthought, as this has nothing to do with you blog but your name as I was looking a comedy show this weekend in which the comic stated about snitching:

he said, you know those stop snitching shirts, well what if someone created one that read, "If you do not want me to snitch stop murdering people" do you think anyone would wear it?

Hello LiBits,
Good comments. I think if 4 to 8 years in jail, plus treatment and 5 to 10 years probations, does not as you say - to teach others a lesson. If others does not learn a lesson from that, then we may lose a lot of kids, 4 to 8 years in jail is not telling kids this is fine, its letting them know you will go to jail for this kind of act, but, you will have a chance to remake your life and do well, helping others not to make a similar fall. As for my name, I do have a site and a shirt that I wear relating to snitching it reads - If some one Murder your ________ you would want a snitch. The site is www.snitchonmurder.com

Life in prison? No. Only for murder.

You all have to remember though, they beat this girl for a half an hour. One point, she was unconscious, revived herself, and was beaten again! 10 years MINIMUM!!!!! They planned it out...and carried it out! At that age, they knew right from wrong! It would be an outrage if these girls get anything less than 10 years when "others" get sent to jail longer....for less!

Snitch:

I still think that the book should be thrown at these young girls as I stated previously, it was premeditated clear and simple. I understand that they are children or a better name would be "penitentiary in training" as if something is not done now, they will grow up to be worse.

Hey Big Brotha Smooov:

Long time no hear from as I hope you are blessed and know that we both are on the same page where this case is concerned. I too think there should be no leniency on these children as you stated, they knew right from wrong and not only did they beat this poor child an inch from her life they had the nerve to tape it and download it to YOUTUBE for fame and fortune, how sad that the parents involved think their children are angels, this makes me wonder what kind of household do they live in........

Hey LilBits...Im BAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!! LoL

I am sooooo waiting to hear the sentencing! There are going to be some major out rage if these kids get off with a slap on the wrist! You know what they are going to do though. They are going to draaaag this along until the attention dies down a little....and then give them a light sentence. Watch out for the fireworks for that result if that should happen.

I won't call these girls "ladies" because they are far from that. They are even less then animals. I think that each one deserves time in jail, a permanent mark on their records, sentenced to do community service where they are forced to see the results of violence against others, like the MORGUE and they should not be just given a slap on the wrist and left go. These girls aren't "ANGELS" more like DEMONS. They are lucky that their victim survived and didn't die at their hands. I simply don't get why people think those who commit these types of crimes should be left go because of their ages. By the way, the youngest was 14, the oldest 18. ALL should have known better. Age is not an excuse when you are out there doing wrong.

In Va. conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor is a felony! They commited multiple felonies and it was planned! The malevolent intent to do bodily harm to anyone is one step below murder! How many times have we seen a plan like this go ire and someone dies because one blow to many or she hit her head trying to escape a brutal attack. They must serve time!2 yrs. with 3 suspended and 5 yrs. probation and if they violate it they get the rest! Youth is where the lesson of life must be learned and these little she devils have know one to blame for their combined stupidity but themselves!I notice your very quick to look out for the future of the criminals, what of the victim? They must be morons to think of recording it and putting it on the internet! If I were the judge they'd get 5 yrs.do most of it in a juvenile facility and finish it off in an adult facility! You put animals in cages right, because they can't be trusted amongst us!

Hello All,

You guys make one tough jury. I respect your thoughts and mine. Bigsmooov, I hope your thought is wrong, about maybe dragging it out until the attention dies and they get a light sentence. Guess we have to wait and see.

jaded babe:

Kind of light on the sentence considering it was premeditated? Plus it should even be stiffer for the fact that they posted the video to YOUTUBE for fame and fortune, how about adding years for that as well!

I used to work in juvenile probation and parole and I watch young ladies and men progress from the simple to the extreme. Why? Many times because they thought the justice system was a joke. No matter what they did, they always got off lightly. Similarly, when DC teenagers steal cars, even their fourth or fifth, they face no real punishment, in fact, think about the article when they took the young car thieves on a nice retreat because "they had never been out of the city". What the hell did that have to do with them stealing cars? Should I have told my children to commit crimes rather than have me work hard and honestly to take them on vacations? The perpetrators should receive some time, I would say anywhere from 1-3 years. Let them see the real justice system. Let them cry as their families walk away on visiting day. Let them see how it is to be under the thumb of, not only the officials, but the other inmates. This was a well thought out thing they did, and they should receive no leniency. I do not feel sorry for them, they victimized a human being and I have no sympathy for such animals.

Should be tried as adults. No question about it. They are quite old enough to know what they were doing. No excuses. And as a parent i would fight till the very end to see that they have nothing for the rest of their lives. They do not deserve anything but a cell. And anyone that feels sorry for them should get the same thing. We need to get back to the old ways and start punishing children at home. Time out my a--. Switches and the bare hand on the rear. It worked back then and it was not ABUSE. Look what we have created as a society. A "society of criminals (young). chalk one up for the Child Welfare System that tells our kids that if your parents spank you they will go to jail. Thanks a lot. As if raising kids were not hard enough.

5 years for each. PRISON years. At some point, a lesson needs to be shown to people that this kind of out of control behavior won't be tolerated.

Born, raise in DC, Cardozo High 67. Some of my beliefs, there's too much violence. Murder is the most vicious act of all. We need to attack the worse crimes first to help cure the rest. All laws related to major crimes need to be reviewed and made clear for like crimes, all like crimes need similar punisment, regardless of wealth or race, using a three step senctencing manner, base on similar crimes, for major crimes, except murder. Murder would be 25 years or Life. I'm working to improved my website for early 08, please stay tune, and Cherish Life. PS. Please visit my updated site @ www.snitchonmurder.com
