I just read that the "cute little girl" who was singing in the opening ceremonies at the Olympics was not the first choice. Because officials felt that the original girl chosen to sing wasn't pretty enough, she was substituted with the one viewing audience saw. And the one we saw  was lip syncing. Now, I can accept the lip syncing as I suspected that as I was watching the show. Plus, it's done all of the time. However, to make this substitution at the last minute  for, as they say, aesthetic purposes and for officials to say that the audience will understand that this was done in the national interest just blew my mind. Quite interesting to say the least, huh?

Guess America is not the only superficial nation these days.

Th chines also faked some of the fireworks too. Smoke and mirrors...At least China has LOTS of smoke, but they sure can't look at themselves in a mirror.

I read that in the article in the Washington Post Express this morning and I was appauled!!!

How can you trust someone that tries to put an artifical image of themselves by giving you a false image and false products?

Scary when you think of how they hold the US debt (and most of our jobs) in their hands! If our politicians don't soon wise up, our nation may soon be taken over by this same de-humanizing,arrogant facade called CHINA.
If I could, I would find the real singer and hold her up so high above the crowd and let her know that she IS beautiful AND talented, and that the IDIOCRACY that calls itself a government in China has its head clean up it A--!!!

Honest1inVA, I don't know if this is a misunderstanding, but the Chinese do not hold most of the jobs from US in their hands. Unemployment in the US has nothing to do with the Chinese because the US business leaders want cheap labor so they send the jobs to China. The umemployed should blame the business leaders for their umemployment. The Chinese are citizens, and they have no power to take things from the US. I thought the statement you made was kind of ridiculous.

I agree about the lip syncing. I just found some of the stuff offensive. The olympics was an event to bring people from all over the world together, and yet there's racism. Racist people are ignorant. Leaving racist comments can hurt the innocent. There are Chinese people in the US, and no matter where they came from, they still consider themselves Chinese. Racist comments can really hurt them. There are a lot of things about America too, but there's no need to elaborate.
