how long is too long to leave up christmas decorations?  my neighborhood is still lit up.  i have some friends who leave their tree up year round. in february it becomes a valentines tree, then its a mardi gras tree, then a july 4th tree, etc.  they call it creative, but i call it lazy.  down with the trees! down with the lights! it's ova jehova!

since kathy griffin is the antithesis of anderson cooper, their abstract personalities pulled it off again to bring in another new year.  anderson cooper is polite, diplomatic, and politically correct.  kathy griffin, well, is not.  "vociferous" is the first word that comes to mind.  i'm not sure why he subjects himself to her as he never understands a word she says, and she makes sure there is no dead air time.  i like 'em both, but anderson cooper is an investigative report(er) i'd like to do!  he is the hottest man gloria vander built.  ;-)

i have realized the level of ignorance and hatred toward me because of my honesty from the "christians" who not only compare me to, but categorize me with this monster.  giving them the benifit of doubt, i don't think they're that stupid, but their real goal is just to hurt me.  you know, the ones who live each word of the Bible. apparently none have been divorced, they regularly stone prostitutes, never eat shellfish, and are kind to their slaves.  they also stretch the abomination of rape and lust to include a loving committed relationship like the one i share with my partner of which the Bible never addresses.  "we don't hate the sinner, just the sin", doesn't cut it either.  my committment to my partner is no more a sin than your marriage.  the holier than thou opinionated "christians" who think i cannot be a Christian and that God did not intend to make me exactly as i am, are wrong.  i don't understand how some couples who can't hold their third or fourth marriages together get to vote on my right to marry.  i'm sure i will see this resolved in my lifetime when we are allowed to make our relaionships official in spite of the ignorance of a few.

a man in the army was awarded a medal for murdering two men and discharged for loving one.  not for long though.  i will continue to pray that God will open the hearts and minds of these so called "christians" and realize that there is nothing to fear from us.

i regret to inform you of my resignation as mayor of bloggersville.  i think it's time to hold an election. i will be selling my seat to the highest bidder. LOL!

on a much more serious note, i have been caring for a critically ill inmate for several days.  If he doesn't die here, he will die in prison as he is not eligible for parole til 2076. he was convicted of raping a two year old who subsequently died from her injuries in 1992.  honestly, it's really hard to be compassionate to his needs. in spite of an armed officer both inside and outside of his room, the female nurses are afraid of him.
