A pallet gun (!) is sold for about $60.00. I just found that out. Thanks to some school kids. What a way to reach there . . . protection, defend mechanism, or simple collaboration, whatever that is!

Not far from an intellectually bankrupt society!

Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

Exactly what is a "pallet" gun?

I don't even know if I spelled it right! I saw this in the news - some kids were selling this gun in a school. It looked like a real gun though the reporter said that it can't kill someone, but may hurt the eyes, etc.

I hope someone nice will explain about the gun who has knowledge about it.

Pkg,I think you meant pellet gun. That's just a fancy word for BB gun,or air gun.Well sorta. Some air guns shoot both pellets and BB's but some either shoot one or the other.
I have several in my collection from A Christmas Story's Daisy Red Ryder BB gun to a hi-dollar Gamo Hunter 890 in .22 caliber with a 3-12 power BSA adjustable objective scope on it.
Air guns use a charge of compressed air to propel a projectile. Some use a cylinder which the shooter pumps with multiple pumps of a handle. Some use a single pump of a handle or a single swing of the barrel to charge a cylinder. On the other hand some use a detatchable cylinder of CO2,or carbon dioxide, which resembles those old whippet propellant tubes while some use a large air cylinder charged by an air pump. The advantage to the latter two styles is that they offer the convenience of not having to mess with recharging an air supply after every shot.
Anyhow, the air pistols that were being traded by these kids were basically harmless. If 'but it can put an eye out" is the best the media and the cops can come up with to bi-tch about then they should just give up.I can put someone's eye out with a fork at as great or greater a range than that air pistol had.True,I would not wanna get shot with one,but there are many things which could be worse. Many, many things.
I myself don't see what the big deal is.When we were kids we bought, sold and traded airguns on a very regular basis.Anyone who knows anything about guns knows that this whole story is just a bunch of anti gun hysteria.

Thank you mountaineerfan. It was really good; I learned a lot. But I should admit that I didn’t understand some of it. I have no knowledge about gun at all. I am thinking to get some training. I saw a gun shop in Kensington. They also train people.

I must also admit that I am not so much for guns. Gun in wrong hand is not a pretty picture to me. We have seen that many times. Unfortunately, the number of ‘wrong’ hands is much higher than the ‘right’ hands. And as always, good people are always punished for some bad people.

Glad I could help Pkg.If you have any other questions just ask.Sorry but I don't know much about gun shops in Md.though.If you lived in Northern Va. I would recommend the NRA range in Fairfax. One of the finest facilities in the world.
Now as for some other points you brought up when you said;"Unfortunately, the number of ‘wrong’ hands is much higher than the ‘right’ hands. And as always, good people are always punished for some bad people"

Weeeeell, actually out of over 200 million firearms in this country less than four tenths of one percent of them were used in crimes last yearn according to FBI stats.
Also, current estimates project about 80 million legitimate, law abiding gun owners in this country. That is a huge number all by itself but when you compare it to the relatively low numbers of actual crimes commited with guns it shows how relatively rare gun crimes are.
The mass media has done more than their share to instill anti-gun hysteria too.For instance all this week Fox News ran, over and over again, one story after another about local shootings yet they never mentioned any of the five or six stabbings that went on this week.Others such as NBC did mention them.Odd don't ya think?
