Maybe Barack Obama should think twice before he accepts New Mexico Governor (and former Clintion Whitehouse apiontee's) Bill Richardson's endorsement. Though he might be one of the countries leading Hispanic elected officials and the countries only Hispanic Govornor, his endorsment poses new problems for Obama.  Gov. Richardson can and will bring many latino voters into the Obama camp with his endorsement however he also adds more fule to the fire on the issue and role of the superdelegates at the upcoming Democratic National Convention in August.

Neither Clinton or Obama have, or can get enough Delegates seated to win the Democratic Presidential nomination outright without the help of the superdelegates.  These superdelegates are being encouraged not to vote independently  but vote the way their constituents voted in thier respected primaries.  The New Mexico Democratic Primary was won by Hilary Clinton and not Barack Obama.  Bill Richardson ( a superdelegate ) now supports Obama thus opens  the door for other superdelegates ( and old party Democrats loyal to the Clintion's ) to follow suit and go against the will of thier constituents in Obama leaning states.

Will party politics continue as usual or is this the begining of a new Democratic party alliance?

I think if people want to own guns it is their right.  I think if people want to smoke cigarettes it is their right. I think if people want to drink, over-eat, be  lazy; what ever it is their right. However, when these vices in society affect the public in a negitive way there should be a penalty.  I don't think anyone can disagree that the murder rate in DC, and at the Virginia Tech shootings have negitively affected the public and cost us not only emotionally but financially.  Guns and / or bullets should be heavely taxed just like liquor, cigarettes, speeding, polluting, driving and everything else we get taxed for.

From "Let it rip" discussion Jan 4, 2007

When being sworn into congress today I think all representitives should place their hand on a stack of money instead of the Koran, Torah, or Bible because this is all they pledge allegiance to now-adays. After all it says it right on the back of the money "In God We Trust"
