Eagles Fan in 'Skins Land

The later the season drags on, the easier it's supposed to get to call games.  At least that's conventional wisdom.  So why doesn't real life work that way?

Chicago at Washington (-3.0).  The Skins have all the signs of a dysfunctional organization right now, with a meddling owner who doesn't seem to know how to run a football team and a head coach without much of a clue about how today's NFL games are played, and a bloated staff full of overpaid assistants.  Da Bears, on the other hand, have serious problems of their own, trying to live up to the hype begotten from last year's Super Bowl run.  Sexy Rexy Grossman has once again taken over the reins of his team, and the results have been mixed.  This game can go either way.  Pick: Bears, 17-14

Dude,

I had to turn the radio off this morning, too much unrealistic babble for me. I can't believe that Skins fans are ready to dump Jason Campbell based on 2 1/2 quarters of football against a bad team for a journeyman backup QB who isn't good enough to start in the NFL.

Well, Todd Collins has been in Saunders system for 10 years, serve up the kool aid Skins fans. Congrats on the victory and with Collins at the helm, its a clear road to Super Bowl 42 for you guys...keep livin the dream !

I heard a lot more realistic commentary from Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin on 980 -- don't get too excited about a guy who is a lifelong backup and had 16 career completions in 13 years going into last night. There absolutely NO WAY the Skins will give up on Campbell and hand the reins to an old, little-used career backup. Leave it to the fans to create a quarterback controversy where none ought to exist.

Then again, how long did St. Joe hang on to Ocho Stinko before finally giving in to reality and Jason Campbell's potential?

I agree, the fans and some of the media are just out of hand. Maybe I am being a little too hard on everyone but I arrived home last night around 11 PM and turned on the news.

I happened to have the TV on channel 9 and they started out the news cast with "The Campbell injury" Todd McDermitt said "the injury is not as serious as first thought and Jason WILL be available for the playoffs"

They then went to the next story about the mall shootings in Omaha NE saying "The shooter said he just snapped"

I was stunned, then so pissed that I couldn't see straight. Only in Washington DC....innocent people lose their lifes and a news organization is more focused on the local NFL QB's injured knee and assuming the team is going to the playoffs than reporting on a national news story. The Sean Taylor tragedy was a national news story but the state of Jason Campbell's knee ??

Trouble is most of the news organizations in DC are just like channel 9, the world comes to a screeching halt when it comes to the Redskins, how pathetic.
