Guys who gots to go: Like Melinda Doolittle, Brandon Rogers has been a professional backup singer.  Unlike Doolittle, Rogers can't sing by himself.  And poor Sanjaya Malakar.  It was bad enough that he has no 'it' factor when he performs.  But the taped hula dance intro was just creepy.

 

Overall, the guys stink.

 

Girls gone home: Haley Scarnato is cute.  But while she may be the best singer at her high school reunion, she's no pro.  Sorry, kid.  And here's another shot at predicting that Antonella Barba (Catholic University) will finally pack her bags.  She's simply in over her head compared to the others.

Antonella sang her swan song last night. She just can't stay in at this critical stage based on scandal alone. She's a beautiful girl and plays violin wonderfully, but as Simon always says, this is a singing competition. As much as I want Hayley to make it, because she nailed that Faith Hill song last night and because she is a much-needed change from the overload of R&B divas, I'm afraid she is the other one who will go, because Sabrina and Stephanie are much better. As for the guys, I would love for Chris Richardson to be sent packing, but the judges and apparently the fans love him too much. Jared and Brandon are both bland as pablum, so I think they need to be left behind when the Top 12 chairs are filled.
