A white man asked his black friend, 'Are you voting for Barack Obamajust because he's black'? The black man responded by saying, why not?
Hell, in this country men are pulled over everyday just cause they'reblack, passed over for promotions just cause they're black, considered to be criminals just cause they're black, and there are going to be thousands of you who won't be voting for him just cause he's black!
However, you do not seem to have a problem with that!

This country was built with the sweat and whip off the slaves black, and now a descendent of those same slaves has a chance to lead the same country, where we weren't even considered to be people, we weren't allowed to be educated, drink from the same water fountains, eat in the same restaurants, or even vote, so you damn right I'm going to vote for him! But it's not just because he's black, but because he is hope, he is change, and he now allows me to understand when my grandson says he wants to be president when he grows up, it is not a fairy tale but a short term goal, because he sees, understands, and knows, he can achieve, withstand, and do anything just because he's black!

Respect Sistren, but let's deal with REALity here, please: "...a descendent of those same slaves..." NO HE IS NOT: His father was a Continental African from Kenya, and his mother was a "White" woman. Where do American slaves as ancestors fit in there? Or is there something in his mother's family tree you know about that the rest of us don't? :)
btw, he is considered to be Black in this country due to the B.S. 'one-drop rule' that 'White' ppl in this country implemented out of their delusions and in an effort to further oppress Africans (but now nuff 'white' ones in this country want to bawl 'bout "he's not Black because his mother is 'White'" lmfao they can't have it both ways; but such is the schizophrenia of White Male Supremacy ideology- "he's not Black" but we all know that 50 years or so ago he would have been considered and called "n----" by these same 'white' folks, his azz would have been forced to sit in the back of bus, and lynched if he got caught sleeping with a 'white' woman); whereas in some other countries he would be considered to be legally 'white' for the same reason: because he's half "white."

Oh, many should not forget that Obama was raised by his 'White' family please.....

and finally....Sistren, lol, you know nuff times when 'white' people are reminded of their collective sordid past it tends to set them off, lolol, so what other reaction did/do you expect to get from them....lolol.

First, great blog buggy babe, and unlike you I am not voting for Barrack because he is black, I am however, casting my vote in his honor because this world does need to change and in my opinion, He can provide that change for the usual way of operating this corruptible country. He is different, his name is different, and he brings a big difference to eights years of the norm that we have had of late. In the words of Michelle, “we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be”. I took this to say that we all must survive in the same world and it will take all of us, regardless of color to put this country back together from the hundreds of years we as people took to tear it apart. This is so important it is for the future of all our children, not just black children, not just white children, not just Hispanic children and so on, but all of our future leaders of this country. Again, he will get my vote not because he is black but because he knows what it is like to struggle and he was not afforded the affluent lifestyle of the former Keating 5 member. Nor did he have granddaddy to pave the way for him, hell for the most part, he is just like me or any other struggling American who was raised on the same values and promises that you can be whatever you want to be if you try. Now if this is not the American dream, then it does not exist. This election will prove one thing if nothing else, America is a great country and although founded on the premise of the annihilation of one race, and the enslavement of another, old wounds can be healed, and we can secure

cont'd...

a future for all people, not just a select few. The politics of old needs to stop and it appears that Obama is changing that, way to go, and as long as he continues down the current path, he will have my support and vote, a change is coming in the way of an educated man who happens to be bi-racial, what other way to say this is the AMERICAN DREAM........

btw...I was following a reasoning on a message board and thought I would share here, as it is valid:

"Do you think that Obama getting in office will mark any positive changes for black people in America? If so, what?

If not, what makes him any different from any other white man who has been president?

I am trying to get past the so-called feel good vibes about Obama to the real situation."

Just something to think about. :)

Buggy babe:

please forgive the oversight as I did not mean to imply that you were voting for him on the premise that he is a black man, but in my own defense, I was responding to the idea that my vote would not be casted on the simple fact that he is a black man, so I apologize for any misconceptions in my remarks.

Tees:

In answering the questions posed, no I do not see Obama making any positive changes for blacks as I also do not see this being his job as President, hell, we blacks need to make the positive change for ourselves and stop looking for others to do what we need to do. If we get rid of that negative thinking that we are all better than the next, that would be a great start. If we stop destroying our own, just maybe, it would let others see that we can do something together. The first thing I would like to see in the black race, is for all of us to accept each other the way we are, just because my skin may be darker than the next should not mean that I am less, nor the lighter person greater. Racism is a world problem and I know that many do not want to hear it, but we as blacks are racist against each other and this is a change that needs to take affect immediately. Let us keep our end of our world obligations, which we are all created equal and just maybe others will start to see us that way. In answering what makes Obama different from other white president, well for me, one is the fact that he is bi-racial which tells me he has experienced both sides of the coin, and would pull away for the norm, I think this is a change that will be most welcomed when all is said and done. I like the fact that Obama may be able to get all of America to see we are all one of the same, just different hues following the same promises, dreams, and securing our future.

So are you saying that the Democratic majority has been unable to DO ANYTHING to help? It's not JUST the president who makes the laws but the Senators and Congressmen do to.

Bits why do you even care???? He has all the answers to everything. I am still trying to figure out with all of his intelligence, why is he hiding behind a computer and not out running our country. He talks alot and says absolutely nothing!

Bits, isn't that your average politrickian, and please no I do not care, but wanted to know if he/she had the gumption to see things for what they really are and not as he/she wants them to be. I am fully aware that some people on this site have serious issues with reality, and Y speak, Y talk, Y breathe is the biggest offender, however, I just was curious to whom he/she was posing the question as it is one of the most intelligent ever from this blogger, that's all.

It was aimed at Newsbuggy.

"I am voting for Barack... We need a change, I would vote for Bugs Bunny if it meant getting those darn Republicans out of office..... Anybody is better than what we have now.!!!!!!"

Either the congress makes a difference, or they don't. Saying a MINORITY of repubs are more powerful than the Democrats who have the majority is interesting.

Thanks for the clarification Y and in reference to your thoughts, it should be both parties who makes a difference as the premises of the American Way is to divide and conquer, right. Well, in this political process of ours, is it not strange that you have two parties fighting the same causes but are against each other, and suppose to be for the people, yet the people truly do not have a say, but will depend on the party they support to speak for them, we the people are the ones who are in serious need of help because without us there would be no parties, right.

Now this one is aimed at you Y3Y3, if you are so smart, have all the answers, and can solve all of America's issues, why aren't you in a position that would allow you to run for President??? If I were as smart as you think you are, I would certainly position myself to run our wonderful country. Instead, you come on here and insult anyone who has a different view than you. We are all different, and we are not all going to agree, but that doesn't give us the right to be a cyber bully.

Okay, I too am waiting for a response on that one Y3Y3 as I have been on the receiving end of your hatred for quite some time and I think these are fair questions as Newsbuggy stated, you do seem to have an answer for everything that is posted.
