BRUNSWICK, Ga. —  Six-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios was laid to rest Thursday, a day after a convicted child molester and his family were indicted for sexually abusing and killing the Georgia boy.

According to an indictment issued Wednesday, convicted child molester George Edenfield and his father took turns sexually assaulting Christopher while the molester's mother watched, then they choked the boy to death.

This story is sad and what needs to be done is coporal punishment, hanging and humilation for those that committed this crime. The laws have got to be changed they keep giving these sex offenders slaps on the wrist.  Give them the Death Penalty or put them in a Penitentiary where the inmates don't look favorably upon these child molesters they prey on innocent little children. Something needs to be Done, these crimes are happening to often and no one is listening.  I think we need to give a few of them the death penalty and put them some where away from society for ever.

MsJustice we need to watch this case as close as possible. I want to see how this one plays out. They BETTER deal with all adults involved in this matter harshly and appropriately.

I'm not a proponent of the death penalty, but this certainly makes me reconsider. The problem with the death penalty is that they get off easier than the victim did (as did T. McVeigh) and two wrongs don't make a right.
The penalty should instead be life imprison, with no possibility of parole AND castration for the two men involved.

I support the death penalty only in certain cases, this would be one of them. I don't want my tax dollars supporting a sick twisted f**k like that for the rest of his life while he watches free cable and possibly gets a free education while in prison, etc.
How could that sick b***h watch those two men do that to that poor child????? How could those twisted f***s do that to him??? What that youth went thru (eyes are literally tearing.)

JFLM, I do see your point, but I have to agree with Tees on this prison is just some place criminals call home, they get cable, college courses or GED. They eat well and work out, they get phone calls and visits. They get free medical and dental and they come home looking like movie stars. I'm with tees these people need to be punished and beat down, then put them in general population with some harsh criminals and then send them to death row and not for a long time eiter.

You are right tees this woman was a sick b how in the world could a mother watch her husband and son do this to a precious child. just thinking about this upsets me, I wish there was a way we could write to the judge during sentencing and tell this judge to give this family the death penalty. but on the other hand you see what they did to Damer, those inmates wasn't playing with him either. How could this happen they said this man was in violation of his probation. Jail didn't do anything to him but give him time to think of new crimes on kids.

I think that the death penalty is better than life in cases like this. Althought those who get life do lose their freedom, they adapt to their surroundings and continue to live their life on the tax payers dime and I think that there are far too many luxuries in many prisons. But with the death penalty, they spend years on death row comptemplating their impending death usually only getting out of their lonely cell for one hour a day (weather permitting). That to me is the kind of justice these people deserve.
Then again if these guys get life and are put in general population and the other priosoners find out what these sick $%@# did to that defenseless child, they just might get a different form of the death penalty.

I am in total agreement with Joystar .... Prisoners do have their own code of justice ... put him in general population and then let them know what these sickos did to get themselves in there !!! They would wish they got the death penalty .. Jeffrey Dhamer was a good example of prison justice.

Give these 2 men the death penalty and execute them in 1 year since their conviction. And give them 2 appeals within that 1 year and after the day that they were convicted a year later; fry them in my favorite; the electric chair; or even the gas chamber should be restored!!

Okay you are thinking that this is too brutal a punishment!! OKAY HOW ABOUT A PUBLIC HANGING!! I WOULD LOVE GOING TO SEE THEM HANG ON A WARM SUMMER EVENING!!

I say this in all seriousness:
Is there some reason they can't restore Alcatraz? It was reserved for the worst of the worst, it could still be used for the worst of the worst. They shut it down due to the cost of upkeeping it. Well, I say the federal govt has spent & does spend money on far worse BS, why not put money into that. Start with Alcatraz. Keep it as close to its originality (ie no cable for prisoners) as possible other than the necessary technology to run the prison efficiently.

I visited there while in 'Frisco over 20 yrs ago; I'll never forget the vibe at Alcatraz.

THE GATES OF HELL, AND THE TORTURE THEY WILL FACE AFTER BEING PUT TO DEATH IS NOT AN EASY PUNISHMENT, ONLY PEOPLE VOID OF SALVATION WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT, SO SEND THEM TO HELL EARLY! RIGHT AFTER THE VERDICT AS SOON AS THEY STEPPED OUT OF THE COURT HOUSE, THEY SHOULD OF HAD A BULLET TO THE CHEST AND HAD THEIR BODIES PYLED STRAIT ONTO THE BED OF AN AWAITING RUSTY F-150 AND DRIVEN STRAIT TO THE TRASH COMPACTOR AT THE LOCAL DUMP!
