Perhaps I am only stating the obvious here, but I will state it anyway. But first, let us dismiss with all of the perfunctory excuses (e.g. lack of experience, he’s unknown, elitism, exotic) for why Senator Barack Obama is deemed not acceptable by a greater percentage of the American electorate and state it like it truly is: Race…okay…he is black!

Today, the whole world is laughing at the stupidity and racism of this symbol of freedom called America. After the meteoric blunder of the Bush Administration for the last eight years, for what other reason could this election cycle be so close?

Now, there it is: Race.

America would rather shoot itself in the foot before it would elect one of the most intelligent and able men that this country has produced who seeks the highest office in the land. A recent poll stated that Americans between eighteen and thirty-nine years of age preferred Obama over McCain. That tells me that young people are beyond the “race” issue and accepting of Obama based on his character, intelligence and outlook for America. They are thinking about now and the future.

For those of you who are parents and are concerned about the future of your children, why stifle their future with more “Bush-think” because of your last century hang-ups? Most prudent parents want conditions better for their children than they had for themselves.

Some say the American electorate is stupid, prove them wrong……this time!

Just because you relate everything to someones color, don't assume the American voter does.

Since you put the subject out there, I propose you are only voting for Obama BECAUSE he is black. It can't be because of his past record or experience. Or do you work for Fannie Mae too?

Being Black doesn't automatically qualify you for the job.
You act like America has to elect him because of his race.
Like some blogger's have stated here, Affirmative Action doesn't apply to the Presidency.

I will vote with my brain not my eyesight.
Even with my eyes closed I can see Obama has no idea of what to do. Just pretty catch phrases and a failed voting record in the senate both US and IL.

I say that the 90% or more of the Blacks that are voting for Sen. Obama are doing so because he is Black not because they agree with his views/policies/plans...whatever that may be nowadays. That makes them racist...would you agree? I do believe there are some whites that will not vote for Sen. Obama because of skin color but that road gets traveled both ways. Don't whine when white people are not impressed with Sen. Obama...that's reality not racisim.

Perhaps you prefer black folks support the Republican “perennial candidate” Alan Keyes?

Yes, I do believe that the majority of black folks are voting for Barack because he is black AND because he’s got his stuff together! He demonstrates better judgment. He is better educated. He is a better communicator. He is closer in touch with the average American than John McCain could ever imagine. Poor John had to find a hook in Sarah Palin just to get people out to hear his message.

Black folks have been supporting white candidates every since you thought it was the right thing to do by “giving” us the right to vote. And, now, to show enthusiasm for one of our own who is, literally, a head above his competitor in every aspect should not be a surprise. Sure, we have had other black folks to run for this office. Like other black candidates in the past, Rep. Shirley Chisholm didn’t have a snow ball’s chance in hell of winning, but they wanted to push the envelope to bring issues that were near and dear to average Americans to the fore. By doing so, they helped raise the bar for all candidates. And when the bar is raised, all Americans can benefit.

Funny you mention Alan Keyes (who is an idiot). He's the only reason Obama is a Senator.

A sex scandal (forcing opponent to drop out 82 days before election), (Obama's) residency and late entry of a replacement candidate sealed Obama's victory not his race or merit's.

Now in your reply you state you believe the majority of Black's are voting for Obama because of his race.

Why not include that in the original blog too?

Seems to me your baiting a racial argument, knowing it seems to go both ways by your own admission.

Why not include your assumption that Blacks may be guilty of the very same thing your accusing the white voter of being?

HUH?

I agree you must base your decision on the character of the candidate and not the color of their skin.
But don't complain that race is an issue because EVERYONE isn't polling for Obama.

The last few elections have been close as well as this one will be.

The majority will rule, like it always has.

I know how and why I'm voting for my candidate and that's all that really matters to me. Until you have a mind reading device and connect it to every voter out there, don't let your own racial bias thoughts assume everyone else has them.

Dog,

If you can resolve in your own mind that the last eight years have been great (no, I’ll lower the bar here, we’ll settle for just “acceptable”) for Americans and you are willing to accept more of the same for another four to eight years and your candidate of choice just happens to be white? Then, God bless ya.

On the other hand, if there is a candidate who surpasses all of the standards that we look for in a presidential candidate and his competitor AND just happen to be black and you don’t vote for him?

Dog, please…go figure!

Once again my statement about presenting a valid point goes to another subject changing and forgotten in the background.
Why are you avoiding my point?
Maybe because you can't dispute it.

OK so you can't answer that honestly without looking like a hypocrite. Sooooooooooo.

We go to the CHANGED SUBJECT:

McCain isn't Bush. Never has been, never will be.
(In the eyes of the Lefty Dem's)
(The statement about continued Bush policy would apply to any Republican candidate, solely on the party affiliation)

He (mcCain) will bring change to the system.

In the last 8 years I have continued to support myself and live the lifestyle I enjoy. Last year I had a record profit in my business. The business I went out and created, I went out and pushed, I went out and worked for.
No one helped me, because I took it upon myself NOT TO SIT BACK AND WAIT FOR SOMETHING TO BE GIVEN TO ME.
The Democrats offer nothing more than Big Government that taxes the business man from his hard work to give to others crying about not getting an equal share. They believe SOCIALISM is the answer America needs, not good ole American know how.
If I make over 100k a year it's because I earned it. NO ONE ELSE. The amount of taxes paid should be the same across the board NOT higher for those who have worked for more money. Democrats see it as a crime of humanity to have money, while others who contribute NOTHING go without.

There are many standards I look for in a candidate, Obama has none.

Dog,

Forgive me if it appeared that I was avoiding your questions. I thought I had made my answer clear. Nevertheless:

1. Do I work for Fannie/Freddie? No

2. Why didn’t I include my subsequent statements in my blog? I took the liberty of assuming that the whole world knew that, again, Barack surpasses everyone else on the campaign trail and that black folks, out of race-pride are supporting him. He is the best and he is black, so the vast majority of black people are supporting him. I truly believe if the candidates reversed their attributes, blacks would be supporting McCain (use the blind test method)

3. Do I think black folks are guilty of voting based on race, only? No, based on the aforementioned

Dog, I enjoyed this exchange, free of name calling and one-upmanship, but I can’t tie-up family time on the computer too much more. But, feel free to hit me back with your other points of view.

#1. Was just a hypothetical pun.
#2. You pose the question as to why would anyone not be voting for Obama (since you excluded the usual reasons. e.g. lack of experience, he’s unknown, elitism, exotic) if not for any other reason than his race.

Well if you take away all his inabilities I guess you are only left with his race. If you are to think that way.

I still stand by my question on why you failed to include your "assumption" of everyone knowing you were actauly talking about Blacks supporting Obama for his race. Not the NON support of others , which I guess I misinterpreted.

Seemed to me you where accusing a certain group of being racist in their voting habits.

So, you hae ONLY YOUR RACE to define yourself micro?

Why do you continue to listen to those WHO HATE THE USA? Why do you thnk those people mostly live in corrupt foreign countries? Why do you think they are UNABLE TO COMPETE? They hate us because they are envious of us. They want to tear us down, and you are an witless chump doing their bidding. 0bama is no better. He also HATES THE USA. He wants to destroy us by taxing us and sending the money to foreign corrupt places. he will treat you worse than he does his own 1/2 brother.

Bro: Still abusing that thesaurus I see.
Its wishful thinking at best.
In psychology they say that you project your attributes on others. Humm based on that I would assume from all your blathering that you yourself are the Racist. I think its very sad, though you may be articulate. most who are Racist are just fearing what they don't know. Ill just ignore your RACIEST rants about white people. Or maybe not.

I hate to tell you this, microbrother, most young people don't think at all...they trust what they hear and that's pretty much IT. That is why the DNC wants people 45 and up OUT...we've lived a lot of years and USUALLY keenly listen to candidates running for office. We also know when we are being lied to by politicians....usually. I think voting this year will be a waste of time in general...given our economic crisis, there will be no money for ANYTHING either candidate has promised....too bad.

Young people are beyond race and the world is beyond the sex of a President or Priminister( ie Germany, Chile, presently and England, Israel and Pakistanin the past just to name afew). Only in America the most free and one of the more liberal countries in the world do we cling to the white male founding father immage of a president why? I bet most Americians still think God is White.

Great picture microbrother and thanks for letting me post it's more than I can say to some of your detractors.

As I have posted before blacks until this election have always supported white Presidential candidates so it is only natural that given the choice to vote black for the first time many people do just as if a woman were the candidate many women would vote for a woman if given the choice. Sarah Palin's views are oppiosit Hillary Clinton's yet John McCain feels many woman will support his candidacy simply because she is a woman.

Y1&1/4 and DIRTDOG
The RNC see's race as an issue that's why you saw Alan Keys on stage at the second Republician debate. He had no true Presidential aspirations and when he ran against Obama in Illinois he was barely even a resident of the state. Just a token carpetbagger from Maryland who somehow was still able to get 20% or so of the republician fathful's vote.

Pinky,

your attempt at an insult with my name and the response about KEYES. Is basically what I said.

So by your own post Obama beat a token candidate not a true opponent.

My point exactly on how Obama even got elected.

pinkywalker read my blog

As much as it kills me to admit RD yes. A token candidate placed there by the RNC. Both parties practice this type of politics.

Until the day (which is comming soon in this country) pure whites males are in the minority anyone other than a white male will be viewed by whites as a token candidate. Obama is not just Black and that's the differance. I truly belive that if all people were the same skin color we would differentiate ourselves by the color of our eyes. Such is the nature of modern man. The only impartial voters are the visually impaired maybe we should be looking at content over personality or skin color.

Thanks microbrother for not deleting my post from your blog like some others do

Pinky, RACE is why the Dems put 0bama on the ticket. Jeez! They STARTED IT, because tehy have no real platform to stand on. Marxism! Oh boy. How many times has THAT been tried? Show me a Marxist government that is successful.

Lefts are so stupid about the mechanics of politics, which is why they vote with their emotions.

Sorry pinky, but I like having individuality in the world.
Everyone being the same color, shape and form would only bring us closer to a colony of clones.
No I think it's up to each individual to be able to think with their minds and not their eyeballs. Throwing everyone into one melting pot isn't an answer. It assimulation.

Sorry to post off topic but this question would more than likely be deleted if posted where it should be.

Linebacker53, I see you deleted your admission of being wrong along with my valid point.
Are we having a temper tantrum? Did you get your feeling hurt when I deleted your off topic comments?

If your going to post a reply don't say your proof is a newspaper you are reading. How can I see it?
I asked you to provide a link, you refused and then went off on another subject. So it was deleted again.

Excellent point(s) MsColleen, and WBoyd, you are right on target, good post. RED-DOG1, AveMaria22, and Y3Y3 already know my thoughts on the Obamaman subject, so I will not proceed.
