Recently, Ronnie White, a nineteen year old man allegedly struck and killed a Prince George’s County Maryland Police Officer, Cpl. Richard S. Findley in a stolen truck. Not much more than a day later, White was found dead in his cell from strangulation. The preliminary investigation suggested that White’s death was not a suicide.

This writer was neither a witness to the crime nor condones the dreadful loss of Cpl. Findley’s life. However, I believe county officials are implicated in the taking of the law in the hands of those sworn to uphold the law in White’s death.

When I first heard of the arrest of Ronnie White, being held in custody in a Prince George’s County jail,  I knew he would not survive to see his arraignment because he was deemed a “cop killer”. If murdering the accused before a trial can prevail, there will be no difference between our so-called modern, civilized justice system and the vigilantism of old. With the advent of recent atrocities all over the world, can one at least hope that the American legal system on these shores still works fairly?

As the economy worsens, there is a good chance that our legal system will be strained by the funneling of more people through it. Therefore, we need to continue to speak out where injustice sticks its ugly head to assure all people that they can get fair and impartial treatment in our system by holding those entrusted with insuring the law, accountable.

My heart-felt sympathy goes out to the families involved.

You mean a modern day assassination in where a black thug intentionally killed a white police officer and some in the black community can overlook that murder.

I agree with you that Ronnie White should have been given due process and I agree with you about vigilantism.

However, I disagree with you on your usage of the word "lynching." Lynching implies a racial motivation. Superficially, it might seem that racism is at play in this case because there is a white officer and an African American suspect. And if it was 30 or 50 years ago, I would have to agree with you.

But let's face it---In 2008, PG County has a 65-67% African American population. Most of its elected government officials are African American. The chief of police and sherrif are African Americans. The county's correction website has their employee statistics listed on it: http://www.co.pg.md.us/Government/PublicSafety/Correcti
ons/2004_stats.asp

Staff percentages for period of Jan. 1-March 1, 2007
Males 64.0% Uniformed: 71.7% Civilian: 36.2%

Females 36.0% Uniformed: 28.4% Civilian: 63.5%

Asian 1.2% Uniformed: 1.3% Civilian: .8%

Black 78.2% Uniformed: 83.0% Civilian: 62.1%

Hispanic 1.8% Uniformed: 1.4% Civilian: 3.2%

White 18.6% Uniformed: 14.4% Civilian: 33.6%

Other 0.0% Uniformed: 0.0% Civilian: 0.0%

The majority of their staff is African American. So unless you know for certain who was present at the time of Ronnie White's murder, don't put a racial spin on it.

thank you CC ...I had hopes for someone commin' up with some "boat righting" info ...

...those who chose to can keep clinging to the choice of sayin' ALLEGED /ALLEGEDLY but the only thing left to add to the murder of Officer Findley is the witness statements /interviews to be made public but on the strength of what I've been learned it'll only flesh out events that explain the murder and I'm comfortable White is the murderer of office Findley...

...the only other thing that puzzels me in the blog author's remarks is sayin' "I KNEW he would not survive"...

I think it's JUST GREAT that the black animal got what he deserved by the hands most deserved to do the job of sending his horrid soul to HELL!

He should have been put out of OUR MISERY a decade ago. Where were his parents? Where were the spankings? Where were the police???

I disagree with Priveye comments...

Race has nothing to do with, if police are not welcome in a neighborhood for whatever reason then if someone has the heart and means to do anyone of those officers harm they will take the chance.

Caffeinated Cow I completely agree with you...

Certain peoples comments are completely uncalled for and they need to leave that racism and prejudice talk at home with their racist neighbors at the fence or with family at the dinner table...

It wasn't a lynching...but he did get what he derserved. This should send a messege to other young black men that think they will get a slap on the wrist and play the "...i'm just a minor..." card when they get caught.

Okay people, enough of this BLEEP already, NO ONE and I MEAN NO ONE deserves to die the way Officer Findley nor Ronnie White did and these words of hatred needs to stop immediately. On all of the days, as the family lay to rest the cop and as the family of the alleged perpetrator get ready to lay to rest their son, can you all take one moment of leaving all hatred off these boards and let us wait until the FBI and MSP finish their investigations so we can learn what really happened. Both families deserves to have a moment of silence from speculation and innuendos from us all, and notice I said us, not me, not you, but all of US.

REST IN PEACE
FINDLEY AND WHITE

May that scumbag Ronnie White rot in H*LL FOREVER!!! And, I hope others from his "side of the tracks" learn from his mistakes. Us
Tax-Paying, Law-Abiding, Hard-Working Citizens are SICK OF THE $HIT that these punks pull. These low-lifes need to stop robbing, cheating the system and doing drugs and get a friggin job like the rest of us. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

B.I.H. (burn in hell) Ronnie Boy!!!

bits ...in the condolent ending to your post I take exception to you equating white with Officer Findley and I believe you chose to do that as your subtle way of ‘needling” ...Officer White's short life was already twice the quality and value to the community that White's was at age 19 ...no tribute to Officer findley is very genuine if the sender chooses to make mention of the likes of a criminal like White in the same breath…

As an ex-wife of an honorable police officer, Lilbit, I highly resent your line putting Officer Findley's name with your trash. You will never give that little buzzard one dab of respect by attempting to appear "sad" for the loss of both. Like others, I'm sick of crocodile tears. If you gave a hoot about blacks robbing and killing..and in this case, running down a police officer...you would ALL start teaching your kids right and wrong and be involved parents in your children's lives. This one deserved to die and he did not merit a long and drawn out trial costing the taxpayers thousands and thousands of dollars. In the end, if there is any justice, his adz would have fried...yes, FRIED, in the electric chair...or, our wonderful justice system would put him back out on the streets so that he could kill someone else.

Both famlies are at a lost. We all feel bad the officer got kill, and also we should feel for Mr. White family; they was not in the car nor at the scene.

But those cowards who went into the jail and kill Mr.White that was totally wrong. It was plan - they knew what they was doing.

Not saying Mr. White was right he was totally wrong, but he did not have time to sit and think that he was going to kill the officer not like those whom went to his cell. Again - PLAN.

This was nothing but a modern day lynching without the sheets and cross.

LilBits, I also resent you (and anyone else) equating the death of a decent man like Officer Findley with that of the low-life criminal who dragged him to his death.

I realize that this country cannot allow vigilante justice to exist, however, I will also say I hope the person(s) responsible for White's death are NEVER found. As AveMaria stated, they did the county a big favor and saved a lot of money provided by hard-working tax payers. As I pointed out in a previous post, since some liberal wimps in MD outlawed the death penalty, White would have sucked off the system for years, receiving some things (free medical and dental care just to mention two) honest law abiding citizens cannot afford.

tcfmva; that is a very low thing to say and stupid.

You should hope whomever is responsible for Mr. White death is cought just like Officer Findley - so that this will all end.

Than you will realize how so many of these comments was out of place and how society still takes sides due to color.

By the way - from your tax-payers comment; you must not have a job.

Again, both families are at a lost and neither men deserve to die as they did.

Nobody wins in this - but who will definitly lose is the ones who kill Mr. White in the long run.

Ronnie White was a low life piece of excrement. The Police Officer was DOING HIS JOB to protect citizens from human waste like White. Why are people trying so hard to blur the lines. I DON'T care that he got exactly what he deserved. WHERE is the proof that he was ''lynched''? WHERE was this family when he was self destructing? The ONLY reason ANYONE in that White family is shedding any croccidile tears over Ronnie is that they smell MONEY from suing anyone they can. The family probably washed their hands of this dirtbag long ago.

South, thanks...you made me laugh. You are abolustely right. I do not have a job. I took an early retirement. That means I have no problem paying my bills on my early retirement.

When will you stupid people get it into your thick heads that the color of a person's skin has nothing to do with the issue??? TRASH is TRASH...it knows no color. Get it?

Hey, south2north...tcfmva is RIGHT. I, also, am retired and I live in Great Falls...so I don't have any money problems either...what kind of a fool remark was THAT anyway? The unemployed are NOT the taxpayers out there...duh! The prisons are loaded with "soooo much loved children" who grew up to be KILLERS. I have ZERO sympathy for idiots who CLAIM to be "good parents" yet raise KILLERS. Excuuuuuuse me if I have no sympathy for this KILLER OR his "looooooooving family."

tcfmva, AveMaria22, beagle_buddy, Snoopy46;

GREAT BLOGS, GREAT COMMENTS....At least I know there are others out there who do and have worked and not living on welfare, trying to lead a descent life and take care of their families. I can't understand the comments from south2north, (let Ronnie White viciously murder one of your family members and see how you react)!!!!!He got exactly what was due him....He did not think about Cpl. Findley while he ran over him on purpose (not an accident)...Be thankful it wasn't you!
