Like Mark Twain said "Don't let school get in the way of your education." You cannot allow your children to slip between the cracks because the school is failing.

It's up to the parents now. You all have to step in and start encouraging your children to self-study: have them read a variety of books--science, history, literature and art; bring them to museums and lectures at community centers; enroll them in summer study programs; etc.

Don't rely on the schools to 'educate' your children.

Come to think of it I should have entitled this blog.. "Are we SOL with our SOl's?" HHMMM Coincidence?

The dumbing down is mostly because of poor education in the colleges, and folks getting hired as Union teachers who are no good at it. they can't be fired for poor performance because the unions refuse to allow it. We should NEVER allow unions to be involved in schools and teaching. it sends a signal that we condone the socialist Unions instead of individual preformance. We have allowed the 'survey' to be used in place of competent scientific studies to verify the social experiments being done. This is why Johnny thinks he's doing great, but can't add, think, or play well with others, and has absolutly NO patience or creativity. We have been electig the WRONG folks for years because we didn't want the bitter pill of reality. Keep voting for Democrats and we will continue to slide downhill.

Can we all just remember for a second how hard it is to maintain 10 or 15 people's attention for just 20-30 minutes let alone 7-8 hours a day. Teachers have a hard enough job with dealing with the classroom behavoir let alone trying to acually teach. Then to compound the problem most parents REALLY don't support or back-up these teachers. Parents today have little to no time to help in the educational process due to working long hours and sometimes multiple jobs. Our society and its become more and more difficult to actually balance maintaining home and work with all our other financial obligations. We often times wonder what has happened with those 15-17 year olds who end up "being tried as adults" after the fact, but what about now. Right now there is a whole new line or list of young people who will soon be entering... as I like to call it... the buckwild years. Parents of these young people are unable to truely control these kids due to a lack of time spent with them throughout the years they needed to establish the strong bonds needed to help these young people. When will we as a nation see that in order to truely curb these types of behaviors and better our education process, we will need to take so much emphasis off the money and put the emphasis back on the peolpe of our nation. To top it all off we have so so many politicians who promise change, and throw all these quick fixes around, but quick fixes to me are just "ghetto bandages" for mortally real problems. I would like to see someone stand-up for our children and our teachers, these people are our "family broke

AMEN! NOT TO MENTION YOU CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU ARE TAUGHT IN SCHOOL EITHER, THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH MIS-EDUCATION TO GO AROUND. ONE REASON WHY I SAY THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING EDUCATED AND BEING AN EDUCATED FOOL.

All of our colleges and universities have been greatly compromised by the new world orders educational system that is flooding us with infidelic teachers and professors who hate God and has been taught to despise the Holy Bible and God!! And they are taught to be infidels inorder to get their degrees from their infidelic and satanic professors and it goes on and on and on until our educational system keeps producing antichrist infidels and God haters!!

But don't worry; these teachers and professors will be in the lowest parts of hell as they have been turning many young Christians who were serving God at home because of their parents Christian upbringing. And now they have changed into Christless devils because their parents have no idea what they have been taught!! And their plight in hell will be of the most horrific tormentings imaginable!!

SETH1974....you are correct!!!!!!!!!! Parental support is lacking in the under educated children. We are sooooo wrapped up in making ends meet that we are loosening our grips on our children. It's getting to a point where we treat our bosses better than our children! THINK ABOUT IT!!! The teacher tells you there is a PTA meeting on a particular day. You can't make it because you have to work. You're too tired. BUT IF THAT BOSS tellS you that "this or that" has to be done before you leave and you sit right there until it's done. Some of these parents need to realize.....if that boss fires you...he will find someone to replace you the next day. If your child doesn't take your demands to do better in school seriously do to your lack of support....HOW WILL YOU HANDLE THAT!?!?!?!? Start showing the importance of their education early!!!

I keep telling you guys that I haven't had any medication at all!! Never!! I have taken aspirin and cold medicine about 12 times in my whole entire 53 year old life!! But then too; I forgot about the baby aspirin that my mother use to give me when I was a child!! But other than that; I don't do any drugs or drink any beer or wine or alcohol!!

And don't think that you will be partying and whoopying it up in hell either!! for there is absolutely no water in hell; and no beer or wine or alcohol in hell!! and absolutely no bars or night clubs in hell!! And no home or apartments or shopping centers or stores in hell!! There are no farms and cities in hell!!

So don't think that you will be having orgies and partying all the time in hell!! And you won't be hearing people laughing and playing and having a great time in hell!! and hell is absolutely absent of children. For all of them are in heaven on a gigantic planet that is similar to Disneyland. But it is the size of the Earth!!

There is no green grass in hell and no trees or flowers or animals except for flesh ripping hideous demons down there!!

And in the center of the Earth; no one on the Earth will be hearing you scream and holler!!
