I am sure you have hear a lot about this topic but this is a really deep. I just want 2 no howcome the Six boys are getting jail time 4 wat they did, when the school want the students who did this racial crime to be expelled, but all they got was a damn three day suspension when the white superintendent overtured it from expulsions, and that he said that the nooses were simply "a youthful stunt." I dont think that was an youthful stunt, i think that the students was mad that they were sitting under the same tree where they sat and didn't like that. What i really dont like is how the district attorney told the black students to stop making a big deal over the noose and directing his remarks to the black students saying "I can make your lives disappear with a stroke of a pen ." wat kind of stuff is that u say 2 any student of any race. Can anybody respond 2 this?

Well, unfortunately you may get responses but at the same time you are not going to like what is going to be said, and I too had issue with the District Attorney’s statement as it was racist within itself but I do not hear too many people who have issue with this outside of us. Last week Shawn Yancy asked a question regarding this case and whether or not anyone thought the punishment fit the crime, well she received over 200 comments, mostly mine as the number crunchers have deemed, but still, the subject was changed from its original content when others posted their comments. Personally, I do not think you are going to receive many comments as this subject has been in discussion for some time now and it appears as if some people would like it swept under the rug. They have said all they wanted to say and most of them have issue with the black children beating up one lonely lowly white child, never mind about the tree, the district attorney statements or any of the other racial BLEEP that was going on in this town.

I think most people that responded to the previous blog about this issue, also didn't think that the district attorney's statements were proper. Personally, I to felt the kids who hung the nooses should have been expelled for doing so. But that being said, that doesn't give anyone the right to beat up another person, no matter what is said or how angry they might have been. Also, the white child who was beat up by the six, had nothing to do with the nooses, but was guilty only of taunting of the Jena 6 about the episode. The black child who was assaulted, was assaulted after arriving at a party uninvited (it was all white) but didn't file a report. Granted, he didn't warrant being pushed around for doing so either. Both these kids in question, should have known better, but neither should have had someone else place their hands on them. I don't think either that any of the Jena 6 should have had attempted murder charges brought against them, but do deserve jail time if assault & battery deems jail time as punishment. That was and still is a crime to do, no matter who you are, your skin tone or where you live. You can never put your hands on someone, no matter how angry they make you. Period.

Gooberpug:
I respect your comments but I have an issue with the fact that everyone wants to condemn the black children for putting their hands on one lonely lowly white child, but the fact that the entire town knew about the tree and whether uninvited or not, was no cause for the white children to beat the black child. The noose hanging was a hate crime in which the children involved should have done some jail time but because they were white it was deemed a “prank”, how fair is that, not very in my book, this Jena 6 case stinks of racism but if blacks try to defend the position of the black children then we are racist and can only see what happened to them, not the whites. However, if I was to go around hanging white sheets that resemble KKK wear and then burned it, I would be under the jail if I ever made it that far because once arrested there is a possibility that I could have had a fatal accident on my way to the precinct or gotten shot 41 times for sticking my hands in my pocket for a cell phone to call my lawyer. What I am saying is that crimes were committed on both sides, yet only one side is being punished beyond the extent of the law. I personally want my UNITED STATES JUSTICE DEPARTMENT to do something about this District Attorney as he should not be allowed to prosecute any cases anywhere in the US or the World for that matter as he is prejudice as we all can see to make a state like that, where is the outrage.

Lil, the two kids in the beatings, neither incidents were directly related to the noose hanging. The black child arrived at a party, uninvited, that just happened to be all white. I have stated before, that gave nobody the right to put their hands on him. HE left when asked to do so, others though took it upon themselves to harrass him as he left shoving him. The white kid, wasn't directly involved with the nooses either, but only after he decided to be a nitwit and taunt the six black students about the issue, did he receive a beating. Again, neither of these kids deserved what either of them got. I totally disagree with the Jena six having the attempted murder charges filed against them, when it was basically a case of assault and battery. I think the punishment needs to fit the crime and last I checked, assault and battery wasn't punishable by what was originally put into writing. But thank goodness they didn't kill him, because six on one, that could have very well happened. Personally, I think that whole area needs some divine intervention. I also think an outside investigation needs to be done about the DA's conduct.

Gooberpug:

We are in agreement but do you really think that the DA will be investigated or anything at all happening to him? I do not and it will be a cold day in hell before anyone admits that this Jena 6 bullsh*it is what it is, racism in its purest form at the hands of those who think they are better than others.

Racism will be around for years to come. Sadly, its a fact of life. But when I say that, I also know, that racism is not a one sided issue, its committed by all races. It's sad though, as we progress in so many other areas, that this one area we as a nation seem to stand still in.

Amen, Amen, Amen, and until we as a global entity in a world filled with others realize that we are not supreme to anyone then we will always be at a stand still on race relations. Just like the war on terrorism, we cannot continue to annihilate one race, enslave others, and think that any other is superior to the first two.

I see a lot of playing of the racial card.
However, when I saw the news story of the Jena situation, it indeed upset me of how the blacks have been treated unfairly. Starting with the prosecutor, alot of people should lose their jobs.

My question is, with all your run-on sentences, and incorrect grammar, spelling errors, etc, how would you know what was 'deep' ???

Now that the comedian is finished....let's not forget what the REAL ISSUE is in this blog!!!! Run-on sentences, incorrect grammar, spelling errors has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what's going on there. Now let's see if this DA is fired from his position or will it be swept under the rug.

Just remember. On September 20 and 21 everyone wear all black in support of our brothers and sisters in Jena. You'll may not be able to go in person, but we all can show our support. If you have children ask their school can the kids wear all black on those days." If we don't stand for something we could fall for anything."We all can make a difference for change. Peace!

this has been covered numerous times so far. WHY must we have to read thru the original posters poor grammar too? She could have posted to another of several blogs.

The idiotic charges were thrown out by the appeals court. Next should be a judicial review of some officials qualifications.
