Over the past weekend and up to this day, much has been made about race becoming a factor in the election of possible Democrat candidates for their party's nomination for President. Barack Obama came clean with the American people several years ago in his book, where he admitted to, among other things, having used illicit drugs. This in contrast to America's “first black President” who half-heartedly admitted to smoking dope without inhaling (I'm still trying to figure that one out).

We all know (or should know) that using illicit drugs is wrong. Barack Obama can be inspirational to young people, showing that in spite of making some bad choices early on in life, one can rise above bad decisions, work hard and even become President of these United States. On the other hand, much of Mr. Johnson's fortune was made pimping thug culture and the “gangsta” lifestyle through videos our young people watch on his Black Entertainment Television. How much negative influence and damage has his “business” wrought on the black family compared to a man who admits to having been lost, but now found; blind but now sees?

Instead of fronting for “Bubba” Clinton by tearing down a successful and inspirational black role model, Mr. Johnson should be lifting up the good within our community, encouraging others to follow suit. If you're going to hold something that someone did some 30 years ago against him, then this is not the America of promise and fairness. In church when you come down to the alter to get saved, there's a presumption that you are turning your life around. Once someone has turned their life around to do good, it's the lowest of shots to resurrect what they once did for cheap political gain.

Hey, Keith666, you got your underwear in a knot? You pizzed off because a black man stood up for a white woman ....

Before you cut off the circulation to your brain with your knotted underwear, go to the website of the church that Barack belongs to and see what they promote .... then come back here and change your tune ... please!

Funny how you lot get your your blood pressure rolling when a black man stood up for whitey! Dont get me wrong I despise Hilary, but for different reasons and thats not the point ...What do you call it when a black woman stands up for a black man? Support? Does it anger you or do you feel betrayed that a black man had the audacity to stand by a white woman? So is his name now Uncle Tom?

There's nothing inspirational about Barack except the fact that he gives a great speeches ... but that doesnt mean he's a great leader! He hasnt proven anything, has no clear plan he's full of hot air and nothing else ... and his exdpereince with international relations came from a classroom ... if you think these make good qualities for a Prez, then you are dumber than a rock!

So unravel that tight underwear bfore it cuts the rest of your circulation and you die from stupidty and self inflicted

First of all luvmybroom, dispense with the personal attacks and stick to the point. Yes I'm aware of Obama's pastor, the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright and I'm aware of the controversy surrounding his church, which emphasizes the "black" this and the "black" that. With limited space to blog, that wasn't my focus. Politically, Barack Obama and I are diametrically opposed to each other. I'm a conservative. However, I am also fair. My point is that this man Barack Obama is a success story. He has overcome statistical odds, including dabbling with illicit drugs and has risen to a point where he is at least being seriously considered as a candidate for the highest office in the land. Barack Obama politically scares the hell out of me. Your point challenging my respect for Barack assumes too much and reads too much into my disgust for Mr. Johnson. Contrasting the two, I'm simply saying that the kettle shouldn't be calling the pot "black", no pun intended. Mr. Obama has served 9 years of elected office. Does that qualify him to be President? That's up to the American people. In my personal opinion, serving 9 years by itself does not qualify nor disqualify him as a candidate. It's his grasp and understanding of the issues. In MY opinion, his position on most issues I care about is simply wrong. But that's not my point. My point is that regardless of how wrong he might be politically, I do admire him as a person. He's a successful husband and father. Were he a philanderer, I'm sure that would have come out by now. For Mr. Johnson to allude to something stupid Bara

...is it that all ya gotta do is come from a fatherless home, be of bi racial origins, cause nobody has quite the encounters of obstacles like they do, and have Oprah's blessing to convince the doubtful you’re a good guy...ever heard of handlers, showboatin’ and scriptin’ …by the way I don't lend much weight to Oprah being the judge of who’s naughty and who’s nice, nor Mr. Johnson!!!!

...now, though not my political candidate of choice at this juncture, you square with me "Keith" McCain being on the deck of that carrier 40 some years ago when all h=ell broke loose and amid inferno he un=asses his cockpit, jumps down into the hell on the carrier deck and miraculously survives just to be brought down in a mission over the north and held a POW for five years without medical attention much better than an auto mechanic can provide, return home and have to go through the medical thing again just to get at least one arm fully mobile...forgive my standards but Obama doesn’t exactly leave me with the feeling of being quite the individual of similar ...

…be fair “keith” but convince me that as you look at two individuals, Obama comes out hands down as your kind of citizen over a McCain…

I'm a "retired" Air Force Master Sergeant that came to the Washington, DC area in March 1989. I'm married with four children living at home and I work as a contractor with a major defense Information Technology firm. Though I moved out of the immediate DC area, I still get Fox 5 via cable. My interests are church, the news (I'm a news junkie) and my family.
