Why is it that being healthy is so expensive? Why is it that being able to drive a hybrid car, that is supposedly better for the environment, is so expensive?

In my opinion, the health food craze is a con game. The hybrid car is a con game. Going "Green" is a con game. What better way to advertise? Just tell people that they are helping the environment by driving this ridiculous looking $30k car. Just tell people to buy the natural foods that run your weekly grocery bill up to $200.00.

If all of this stuff is so important, why is it all too expensive for poor or middle class people to afford it?

Why is it cheaper to buy Rocky Road ice cream instead of frozen yogurt?

Why is it cheaper to buy a gas guzzling Cadillac instead of a Toyota Hybrid?

Are we all suckers? Is it just easy advertising? Guilt us into spending too much money.

If you want to solve the gas crisis, make Hybrids cheaper(If they are actually more environmentally friendly). If you want to solve the healthcare crisis, let people be able to afford to eat healthy. There, problems solved.

ah, how innocent you are, its not advertising Jay, its the wealthy Americans master plan to kill all the annoying and rude poor people. duh. You know, so they don't have to be bothered by them anymore. jk. I have no idea why, demand and supply I suppose, but it bugs me too.

jay, supply and demand. also, think of the process and time involved to produce organic food and hybrid cars.

but just you wait. the more they make, the cheaper they will become. once the plug-in hybrids come out, the price of the current hybrid will drop. i can't wait to see the day when everybody is driving one. i am not so concerned about the price, as i am about how we are destroying the planet.

you have a good point though.

howdy from dallas !

Well hello again Dasvics. How is the midwest treating you?
Hello tex...I am from TN so we speak the same language. LOL
You both are right,it is supply and demand. But I think the demand would be right no par with the supply if it was more affordable. I'm paying $4.54 for gas. If I could get a car that got 50 miles a gallon, I would do it. But its hard these days to squeeze out another $30 to $40K.

I moved here from Nashville about a year and a half ago. I am an aspiring writer. I currently write articles for SoCal Sports Hub, about the LA Dodgers. I also am working on a side project - an essay novel with stories that could only have happened to me. I am fascinated by how I can take a story or a blog and post it and see the many different opinions. I do come across as nasty sometimes to other people, but let me assure you I respect just about everybody's opinions.
