I just returned from Fla. and was in Daytona for 6 days. Bike week is a great experience for everyone not just bikers. Had a great time, got sunburned and road for miles and miles. Didn't see one fight or a single person arrested anywhere the whole time I was there .I was amazed how everyone, cars and bikers were able to get along and few incidents out of over a million bikers! Is it just me or are people  outside of this beltway area  less stressed then us. Anyway my hats off to Daytona Fla. for another well orchestrated and fun occasion!  P.S. the police down there stay out of the way and are courteous which shocks me every time I go!

I have been riding motorcycles for most of life, first in the dirt and then street. Over the last several yrs. I've noticed a tendency for cars to become more aggressive towards bikers.I myself have been deliberately forced off the road 4 times, this does not take into consideration's near misses tail gating and other life threatening incidents that seem to be on the rise! What is it that makes people think they don't have to acknowledge motorcycles and give them the same courtesy and adherence to the laws of the road as autos? They do it's the law!Don't people realize that a collision between a bike and auto is always one sided and lethal in a lot of instances for the biker?I know a lot of people see bikers (sport or cruiser) as reckless and irresponsible. Who's more  irresponsible?  A guy on 600 pound bike getting away from traffic to ride safely,or someone who feels the need to show they own the road in their 5000 pound vehicle that can cause instant death to someone just to prove a point! Throwing a missle at a biker is a felony, deliberately  forcing one off the road is attempted murder! So the next time you anti motorcyclist feel the need to play traffic cop remember it's not a game out there on the road. One other thing while your out there dispensing your interpretation of justice to what you perceive as someone unworthy of use of the highways,be careful you might be on the receiving end of some justice and this is not a threat! Hell have no furry like a biker intentionally scorned! Just give them a brake and stay away, most of the time they just want to be left alone!
