I just saw on the news that a husband and wife are going to sue the makers of aluminum baseball bats. They claim that bat added acceleration to the ball when it hits it . The ball then hit their son in the chest that caused his heart to stop! He was resucitated but as a result of oxygen deprivation he is now in a vegetated state!I don't know but it seems to me these parents are pulling out all the stops to make someone pay for there misfortune. I mean why not sue the people who make the ball, the kid who threw the pitch? It is an unfortunate accident that they are left with a disabled child, but it was an accident!!! If he were struck by lightning would they sue the meteorologists for not predicting the rain!! It just seems excessive and two shattered peoples way of exacting a pound of flesh! What do you think!

jaddedude, given more time, they will probably go down the whole list you have mentioned. I personally HATE aluminum bats, and the last place they should be allowed is in little league, for the very fact of the additional "hitting power".

"why not sue the people who make the ball, the kid who threw the pitch?"

The kid who threw it probably doesn't have enough money to cover the other kids medical bills, and lawyer fees. The ball people might have dodged similar suits and have experts and lawyers who have evidence that the ball's injuries are directly related to the velocity of the traveling ball. So the obvious choice to sue is the bat people.
