I recently read a race stirring piece on MyVoiceDC entitled Sean Bell’s Live Worth 3/5ths by Brandon Whitney.  http://www.myfoxwfld.com/myvoicedc/

Brandon starts off by saying that many in the African American community weren’t surprised by the verdict… and then he links the failure of convicting police who use excessive force to Whites valuing African American lives at 3/5ths that of a White person.

Not long ago, right here in Northern Virginia, Officer Carl Stowe shot and killed Aaron Brown outside of the Alexandria IHOP…. However in Aaron’s case, there were no allegations of a gun in the vehicle.

Officer Carl Stowe was acquitted of all charges…

So let me tell you something Brandon….  3/5th of nothing is nothing.

My question would be, would the African American community be so outraged had the judge been African American?

Should America have two separate justice systems… one for African American’s and one for Whites? …. And perhaps in the event of cross racial crimes, a board of both Justices could be convened to determine the verdict?

Personally, I think the two African American and one Latino Cops should have been prosecuted for shooting the African American Sean Bell…. But then again… I suppose my opinion only counts for 3/5th of an African Americans’.

Last night, about 100 protesters swarmed the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica, shouting "F- - - the police" and "Blue-eyed devils" at dozens of cops who stood shoulder to shoulder. The demonstrators then marched down Jamaica Avenue to club Kalua, where the 2006 tragedy unfolded.

Rev Sharpton is helping to put the blacks in a bad light for their violent actions after the trial results. This will reflect badly on the blacks in such a way as to bring doubts about Obama too.

Violence is the tool of the ignorant.

As long as the blacks are perceived to be ignorant, loud, violent and white-haters, they will have nothing. Their 'leaders' sure haven't been able to get them to understand this. You didn't see the 'white folks' our rioting and trashing and beating blacks after OJ got off. This was a lesson NOT LEARNED by the blacks.

Can blacks really be as smart, and mature as white folks?

Where is the proof?

Let Sharpton shut New York city down. You think that will help Obama? The folks to scream about are the prosecutors and his witnesses.

Y3Y3, I agree that the "good" Rev. Sharpton is [again] shedding a bad light on the black community. But you know, I don't think it should just be the blacks that are outraged over this verdict. I simply think the verdict was unjust, whether Bell was black or other. As for Grand's question of would the AAs be as outraged if the judge was black? Yes. Probably even more so, because then he'd be called a sell out, etc. etc. And last, Y3Y3, can blacks really be smart and mature as whites? Yes. And I am proof. (just think that question was little too general and it insinuated that all whites are smart and mature)

My question is, when is MyFoxDC going to post a site dedicated to White Americans? Oh, that’s right it would be illegal or racist to do such a thing. Still, it’s funny how this issue of excessive force is spun off as a racial or should I use the correct term Legal Anti-White Racism. Al Sharpton leading demonstrations shouting racist derogatory chants against whites “oh I mean the police” is as ignorant and equal to David Duke leading dumb azz clans men marching to the NAACP HQ protesting against all the black on black teen murders across the cities of America.

Sorry Mill.....

I see EVERY DAY just how stupid pretty much everybody is, and I'm pretty embarrassed to be in the same SPECIES as most of 'em.

You're right about the stinking verdict. The prosecuter and his staff need to be investigated to see if any money changed hands.

Y3Y3...what in the H*ll are you talking about? I try to be civil about my comments pertaining to you. What you just said just boils my blood to hear how ignorant you are. You are clearly saying that the color of your skin determines how smart you are? Are you kidding me? Really?

Back to the topic.

I'm 50/50 on this issue because what the media is leaving out is Bell and his friends were drunk and acting all out of character. Those officers didn't know they these guys had guns or not. Bell tried to run into one of the officers and he smashed into a police car. By natural instinct, an office will feel that his/her life is in danger. Now.....51 shots....that's too much.

For whites to look at a black insident and look at Obama as a representation of that, is just stating how ignorant the American whites are. Should I judge all whites views and opinions based of of Bush's dumb BLEEP? No!

This whole trial brings up more questions than anwsers.

First- Why would three officers wave their right to a trial by jury and opt for a verdict by a 73 year old Judge months away from retirment?

Second- Why wasn't the commanding officer (the Lieutenant who at the time of the shooting was "looking for his flashlight") held responsible for the action of the men under his command?

Third- The Judge said the surviving victims testimony (or story changed). Well when you have just been shot, you friend has just been killed on his wedding day and you are in a hospital under pain medication I guess your recolection of the events of that night might be alittle fuzzy.

Forth- Undercover officers in a strip bar! You would stand out like a soar thumb if you weren't drinking. Why weren't the officers blood alcohol tested immediately tested after the shooting?

In the past 25 years there have been no less than 20 police shootings like this in NYC one involved a 9 year old boy who was mistakenly thought to have a gun. Localy this tragedy has also been repeated.

Policing the public is one of the hardest jobs out there however excessive force (52 bullets) is not good policing.

If this country isn't ready to give it's minority citizens a chance at a fair trial than how can we say we are ready as a country to have a minority as a President?

So Smooov....Where is your arguement? Look at the statistics. Look at the crime in DC. WHO exactly do you think the criminals are? Show me where calm Black heads exist. Tell us about how Blacks reacted about Rodney King and how white folks reacted about OJ. Perhaps YOU don't get it for the same reasons?

Y3Y3...someone like you will never know of calm "Black heads" because I don't think you surround yourself with enough (or ANY for that matter) to be able to differenciate between the two.

Ignorance make the news. The calm "Black heads" will not be placed in front of the camera because the last thing the media would show is us acting in a civil and positive manner.
