The State Department just released a scathing report on global anti-Semitism, which equated to defining any criticism of Israel as anti-Semitic.

Various U.N. agencies are asked each year to investigate what are often "sensationalized reports of alleged atrocities and other violations of human rights by Israel," the document said.

Such unremitting criticism of Israel "intentionally or not encourages anti-Semitism."

I wonder... If I disagree with the policies of Israel... would I be an anti-Semite? 

 

If I published those thoughts... could I be convicted of a hate crime? 

(I initially was going to write that I did disagree with the policies of Israel... however deleted it because I just didn't know. If a news story pops up about Israel... am I allowed to blog on it?) 

 

What are your thoughts? As Americans... do we have the right to criticize the foreign policy of Israel as well as the "alleged" human rights abuses in Gaza and the West Bank?)

This is another distortion by the Americian Zionist press.

A Semite is defined as a member of the peoples descened from Shem Noah's eldest son who speak the Semitic language. How do we go from that to anti-Israel, anti-Jew.

If Israel policies were sincere the Israelie government would stick to the borders as defined by the UN after the 6 day war and not practice the land grab that they are engaging in now and have been since 1967. Israel needs to stop all new and get rid of the old settelments in the West bank. Stop building an illegal wall that dosn't follow the UN resolutions borders. Stop taking resorces (water and fertile land) from the Palistinian people with the route this wall takes. Lastly negotiate a settelment with the religions of the world to make Jerusalem an open international city for all peoples of the world something like Vatican City.

There is no difference between the apartheid policies of South Africa and Israelie policies against the Palistinians.

The problem with the middle east area (Lebanon included) is that the region and the World as a whole has never addressed the displaced people of Palistine as a result of the creation of Israel in 1945.

Peoples of the world generaly like the US, it's freedom, it's culture, it's people, they just hate our Government's policies. The same holds true for Israel it's people are kind and friendly, have a belief in God and a respect for life, it's their Government's policies that cause their problems.

I would prefer replacing Anti-Semitism with Jew-Hating. However just think about how much that would cost. BUT being bright folks, you all KNOW this.

Bootsy: I new you wouldn't miss this one.Their has been an increas in Anti Jewish sentiment but it's not new?The increase is that people are sick to death of all the death being shed by the Jews and PLO,Hazzbullah,Islamic brotherhood. Do you think 9/11 would have happened at all if there was a Palestinian State?????

Anti-semitism.....Wow. Like anything having to do with race or religeon, it's a tough subject to broach, much less discuss on an intelligent level because it's such an emotionally charged subject.
To me, anti-semitism is hate - pure and simple - against Jews simply because they are, in fact, Jews. I make a clear distinction between Jews (a religeous affiliation) and Isrealis (a secular, national society). Being anti-Isreali is one thing. Being anti-semitic is another. If one is anti-semitic, it is no different than being a bigot who hates blacks for no other reason than the colour of their skin. To my mind, bigotry as well as zealotry of any stripe is abhorent.

Israel actually has not written a Constitution yet. They've been trying for umpteen years. Just suppose Protestants tried to take over the State of the Vatican and wrote a Constitution. That would never happen. I can prove it. Every time I say that Catholics and Protestants should have the same Bible, it makes Christians angry. Don't you think that Protestants and Catholics should get along inside the Vatican? Don't you think that Protestants and Catholics in the USA should agree on the contents of a Christian Bible and in addition work together to fix the order of the Table of Contents in chronological order? If they can't do this, then I think they are cruel to their own children. So Israel is a Jewish State, it is a secular Jewish State. Unlike the Vatican, they allow the Protestants, the Catholics, Buddhists, Muslims to have their own religion in their Jewish State. I just wish they would demand that all Israelis study the Torah Scrolls. That's my problem with them being Jewish. They don't care about protecting me, they want me to protect them. The only way they can protect me here is to start requiring every Israeli to analyze the Torah Scrolls in Hebrew. If they did that, like the Vatican does with Catholicism, then I think there would be peace in the Middle East and the USA would really be respected worldwide. Just my hope for change.

Grandillusion, I've got a serious question for you since I'm not the Management type person, professionally. Simply an employee type. This post about a book wnnting to be published. Do you think if someone posted this on my blog and I considered it to be self-serving commercial advertisement, I would be unbiased if I deleted it? Or if I "reported" it, would it be the more appropriate way to handle it?

The Jews are simply returning to the Land that they were exiled from mainly in 70AD.

The events of 9/11 were not caused by Palestine as much as it was the presence of American troops in Saudi.

Compassion for Palestine? Yea sure...I was really concerned that some poor Palestinian might twist an ankle while dancing in the streets on 9/11.

The Jews handed Gaza over to Palestine and what did the Palestinians do? Now that they were closer they used Gaza as a missile launch point into Israel.

Who would ever think that the day would come that American can actually agree with Osama Bin Ladin? Looks like you ad him are both Pro Palestine...Nice!

Lastly, If Palestinians would stop the homicide Bombing of innocent people...The Jews would leave them alone.
