I am not a woman or mother, but I am happy to hear you say this!!

I think she will be a great asset for years to come.

*Sarcasm Warning*

You working moms should be at home taking care of your children, folding underwear and scrubbing toilets. Because we all know that women are too stupid to do anything else.

*End Sarcasm Warning*

I can't stand the sexism in this campaign. So what if Palin has children and she works outside the home? Hundreds, thousands of American women do that every single day. My goodness, the way some people are carrying on about it, you'd think it's 1408 instead of 2008!

CC, sadly though its not men who are doing the crying over it, it's women. I can't believe that women are so jealous of the advancement of some, that they actually speak out and act as if this woman should be barefoot and pregnant and staying home to raise her kids. Men don't keep women back, other women do.

Gooberpug,

This is very true partially. The "Other" women speaking out on this issue are the ones that are noted as " The Catty Bi-tchs". You know the ones you work with that back stab you every chance you get. The other selected women are the ones that are so backward in life as if they were "Mrs Clever".

Then the remaining are... MEN! So many of them, so competitive with women. They know, we can, Multi-task way better than they could ever imagine. These MEN are sooo insecure of themselves, so belittling a woman that is successful makes them feel like a real big boy!

She is a wonderful additional to the Ticket, as I feel she will top it over for the Republicans. Finally someone is thinking way outside the box!

Gnowlin,

Is she the right person because she is a woman “a working mom?” I would hope that women would not just vote for Palin because she is a woman. Because I think that makes women more sexist then men. Women everyday and everywhere are contributing to those cracks in the ceiling without recognition. Without a doubt women need to welcome the achievement but not necessarily give a vote based on gender but on experience and her platform that is not just for women but for all Americans. Just as Senator Obama; should not gain a vote for being Black or biracial with the expectation of just helping Blacks and not all Americans. Each campaign has created history first man of color and first woman yet Senator Obama or McCain has not impressed me enough to gain my vote.
I was a soccer mom that wore lipstick; that had a badge and carried a gun now our sons are adults fighting in Iraq. And one is on his fifth tour as a Marine and the other one is a Navy Seal so the issue of war, economy, and environment, dependence on foreign oil and healthcare for veterans are a great concern for my husband and me. Yet Senator Obama or McCain has not impressed me enough to gain my vote.

You are correct when voting for the right person with experience under the belt. McCain as you know is extremely knowledgeable of war and our Military. I feel quite confident for my son and others that he will do the right thing for them. I also feel he has made a wonderful choice to put Palin in for VP not because she is a woman, but the experience on many issues you just mentioned. Our sons and daughters have made a choice to join the Military knowing there is a risk prior to signature. The fear is always on our minds, but I keep faith and no wholeheartedly that McCain will keep them top priority. If anyone that is running for President and has had first hand experience on so many levels, which include the good and bad knows how to deal with the battlegrounds. Way too many Questions regarding Barack Hussein Obama and all his dark affiliations. Palin I feel is a wonderful example of the Working Mom/Woman in the corporate world. Much more everything with a pretty flawless record than Barack Hussein Obama, who's integrity is totally questionable.

gnowlin ,
you are awesome! I am one man who believe woman do have an equal place in this world and are a blessing to the world.

What I was so disappointed about is how the woman in the Democratic party looked up so much for approval from the male leadership within the democratic party.

They beat Hillary down politically and emotionally. On her last night , she was turned into an ORANGE pumpkin. A week woman who tried to keep a smile on her face. She disappointed even me.

She did a "go along to get along " in the end. Which means ,she accepted her second class status within her party.

I have a good friend who has 3 kids under 3(including twins) and she is back out there !

I am so proud of her , You and Sarah!! You are all winners!!!!!.

P.S.
I remember when Obama called a lady reporter "Sweety" and brushed her away ....noticed how the media has stayed away from that story, so well?

But to me , Obama's reaction to this lady was very telling...........

How is your son doing? From previous blogs, I know you are a very strong supporter of McCain and I commend you for making a choice. I have not; McCain and Senator Obama have not moved me into believing one of them can be president. Unfortunately I think McCain pick Palin for anterior motives and had nothing to do with putting the country first. In truth I have issues and concerns with both men. But reading both candidates records both have some fallibilities that range from personal to business so both have flawed at one time or another in their integrity. Looking at McCain voting record for women issues is disappointing and he is pro-life. Senator Obama voting record is just as disappointing because at times he wouldn’t vote one way or another but he is pro-choice but still not enough to earn my vote.
I give credit to all women that have taken a job that was predominantly male while being a wife and mom. But believe women should not be handed a position or job because they are a woman in an effort to appease constituents. Women must earned a position or job on merits and her being a female should not be front and center in conservation; as Senator Obama being Black or biracial should not be front and center the majority of the time. And the media highlights both constantly. Maybe I will flip a coin or make a choice not to vote for the very first time.

I believe your argument is an intelligent reasonable one. But here is where it gets confusing...

"But believe women should not be handed a position or job because they are a woman in an effort to appease constituents. Women must earned a position or job on merits...

As an minority ,what has insulted me for nearly two years is the opposite view of Obama . Remove woman and put Obama and that's my same argument about Obama.

I believe if Obama was a white male , and came with the same arguments and background , he would have been tossed out long ago.
I believe obama is where he's act is he is the most extreme choice ,although he speaks of gifted levels ,that's not a substitute for leadership . Here is why he is where he is:

1. White guilt
2. bush haters
3. 95% of the black vote.
4. The media
5. large moneys from far left liberals like Move on.org

If he were white with that WRap sheet ,this would have been over long ago. That's why as a minority ,I kinda feel like you do, (but change woman to black) ,but where we part is Palin can back up her stuff without the protection of the media ,white guilt and powerful far left liberals as Obama has the luxury of enjoying .....

Liberal Hypocrisy again????

Appreciate the feedback. I understand your frustration a little but disagree about my response to Navymom01 being confusing. Senator Obama being the Democratic nominee for president, I’m unsure if his position has anything to do with “white guilt.” Because that may suggest that Senator Obama is manipulative and I think that is giving him too much credit. To manipulative a mass of people that is very diverse in culture, race, and religion. People happen to believe in him because he looks different and different may present change, I just don’t believe in the platform.
I think Palin is McCain’s running mate on the premise to appeal to women because she is a woman and to make history of having the first female as a VP. Senator Obama getting 95% of the Black vote because he is Black or biracial is bias and has nothing to do with merit or qualifications; both campaigns are not without flaws or faults and anterior motives. But it is what it is, the suggestive democratic system at work. Not convinced of Palin’s qualifications or merits to hold the office of VP or president if McCain wins and cannot fulfill his duties. Just too much to risk on an unknown woman in order to make history and the same can be said about Obama. Just not please with my choices for the office of President or VP. I think some or many just wanted to make history and forget this country needs a real leader and that has nothing to do with being a POW, first man of color or the first woman.

In 2000 they were called Soccer Mom's, 2004 security Mom's, 2008 Hockey Mom's why? Because John McCain need's to win two of these states (Michigan, Pennsylvania or Ohio)to come close to winning the Electorial college vote. He is loosing in all three. This is the most popular sport in this part of the country and the most white. In an effort to get apathetic voters back to the poles the RNC has chosen this strategy of syphoning off the white female vote. Instead of talking about issues the RNC has chosen to find a matriarch figure "Hockey mom" to try to attract this important demographic.

Note: Until this year Blacks have voted for White Presidential candidates in the general election almost 100% of the time.

I also concur neither Presidential candidate has given me a reason to vote for them and I am tired of picking the lesser of two evil's!

My son is doing quite well. He has chose to be in the Navy for many reasons, and is FC2 on one of the USS Comstocks. One of the reasons is to be support our Country, to travel abroad, learn and see new cultures instead of looking in a Magazine and wishing he would have left his own backyard. He is extremely strategic as a child and made this decision at a very early age. It has made him becomea a man that I wish all men were like. As you know the Military is not always a piece of cake, but it's what most of them love to do and that is to Serve our Country.

As so many people see.. Military as a bad thing especially at war time, what makes it any different than a Police Officer, Fireman, Convience Store Clerk.. etc.. When we choose a position in life we all take a risk. Even driving to town to go to work can cause death. My son and like many others have the courage and love to make a difference for us all.

I totally agree with derunner as I feel she has proven herself beyond any doubt that she is more than ample to sustain herself in the Whitehouse. Obama has really brought absolutely nothing to the table except many questions of his Integrity and Character.

To me.. Of couse noone is perfect for sure and not everyone is going to like you no matter where you work, but I would put my sons life with a man who has been there and done that. He knows the game and the wins of Military. Is he perfect? No, but noone elese is. Barack Hussein Obama for me has NOTHING, but questions about his whole life and the people he has associated with for t

for the last 20 plus years. You take down all the good and the bad of both and you decide who is more qualified to run our Country. Sarah has more experience and her Integrity is where I see is a genuine American true grit. Barack Hussein Obama bring nothing to the table exception quesiton regarding his life with no experience to rely on. Just because she is a woman doesn't mean she can't do the job, in fact I think she will make a hell of a Vice President and she will grow under McCains wings for President down the road. She doesn't need Opra, Hillary or anyone elese to make her way. Dems are just disgracful toward women as we have already seen it unfold on Hillary, which was basically treating her like whale crap at the bottom of the sea. It's sad, but the real change is exactly what McCain did and he will win.

I feel sorry for Hillary. It is a shame how the Dems treat her. This is not how I want women to be treated. I wish she had shown true grit and ran independently. I still wouldn't have voted for her but I would have respected her more. I vote for people based on their values not their politics. I don't care whether they are black, white, hispanic, man or woman. It is character I look for. We will never agree completely with any one canidate but I know we can count on McCain-Palin to vote for the values I believe in.

well said ! you and your son are, indeed, patriots ! Keep up the fight! For if we don't, America will truly lose!

gnowlin ,
So true! They beat Hilariy down and forced her (with a fake smile ) to succumb to the far left liberal will. They wanted Obama ,at all cost , and they were willing to assassinate Hillary political run with furies vengeance , if necessary, to secure the nomination for Barrack Hussein Osama...urhhhhh...... Obama.

It is very unfortunate, because when Hilary enter the race (although I did not support her but still respected her) she was a kick A55 lady and she was in your face! She was intelligent and was a good debater who knew the issues ,although on most i disagreed!

The Democratic party ,however, had their own agenda. They made her submit. They beat her down ,unmercifully, until she finally gave up
on Hilary ,maybe , finally night on the political national stage , The Dems turned this once powerful lady into a weak orange pumpkin, making her give a contrived and forced speech in her support for Barrack Obama

Come on people, this lady was made a disgraced and her dignity taken for ever ,due to the new democratic political socialist party .]

This was one of the most disappointing things I have ever seen in my 30 years of politics.

Country First !!!!!!!!!!!!
