I've been hearing this news story all morning about the missing Beltsville, MD. boys. Claudia Coffey has reported that they were returned safely this morning after a neighbor realized that they were asleep at his house - they had been there playing the night before.....
The kids' father is upset that no search dogs were called in to look for his kids......has anyone asked the parents why they didn't know their kids were playing at a neighbor's house??? They were reported missing at midnight.....did anyone wonder where they were when they didn't show up for dinner??? Did the parents go house to house looking for them? If they were playing at a neighbor's house and comfortable enough to be there late in the evening and even go to sleep there.....why wouldn't that be one of the places their parents checked???
Sounds like a piece of this story is missing....Glad they're safe, though!

I babysat for my brother this afternoon at his townhouse in Rockville. I was on the phone, looking out the window while my niece slept and was shocked to see a little girl - not more than 2 years old wandering around by herself. This child was barefoot and naked from the waist down. Not quite sure who the child belonged to, I called 911 so the police could send someone. The 911 dispatcher took all of my information - the little girl was wandering into the parking lot, heading toward the main road. I asked if I should go get her or would they send someone? Finally, I saw a young girl (early 20's) walk casually out of her house, stroll up to where the little girl was, pick her up and bring her back inside - apparently, they live just a couple of doors down from my brother. I told this to the 911 dispatcher and asked if they would still send out a policeman. She said "no, it seems that everything is ok now." I explained that this girl was outside alone, barefoot and naked from the waist down - everything was not ok now. She said that "they probably just left the door open." I was stunned! This not a stray animal we're talking about....its a child!!! I then phoned Child Protective Services, explained exactly as I had with the 911 dispatcher. I was told that without a name and address, there was nothing they could do.....I told her that I would be happy to go outside and get the house number, but I don't live there and don't know the neighbors by name.....she said that if it happened again to call the police non emergency number. THIS IS NOT A NON EMERGENCY!!! I am so discouraged and angry that no one seems to care about this. Does something need to happen to this little girl for someone to give a damn??? I asked Child Protective Services to send someone out to talk to these folks and was told again that I needed to give them their name and address..... I told all of this to my brother and he said that they always let the little girl wander around by herself, while they stand at the door and watch her......
