This is a senseless act of violence. I just watched a segment of Bill O'Rielly with defense attorney Allison Gillman about this beating. The attorney suggested that they should get community service for their actions and that they shouldn’t be charged as adults. She even went on to suggest that the girl that was beaten unconscious and then beaten some more didn't really suffer any permanent injuries. She even further to say that it was a misdemeanor. What makes what they did any less criminal then the Jena 6.

I am a 52 year old male, who supports Barack Obama. I come from a family that was not wealthy, but hard workers. My father worked as a metal finisher, a trade he learned in the Navy and my mother worked as nurse’s aide and a janitorial supervisor. I graduated from high school in 1973 just missing the draft for Viet Nam. After working several jobs with no real career I decided to join the military. I served in Panama, Cuba, Somalia, Southwest Asia, and Bosnia. I left military service because it took its toll on my children with me being deployed for long periods of time. I am currently a disabled veteran from injuries sustained while on active duty. I have volunteered within my community and assisted others whenever I could because it was the right thing to do. I was in the Pentagon on Sept. 11 and later treated for anthrax exposure. I attend church and strongly believe education is important for all. I went back to school and received a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and a Master of Education. I am divorced now, but I drive to North Carolina from DC every weekend to see my children. Trust me when I say that I am not delusional or confused. I have seen all there is to see and done even more. I am a patriot and an American and I love my country. I have made many sacrifices for this nation and mankind throughout my life and don't regret in thing. So for those who choose to belittle my political choices, I say thank you for reinforcing the idea that I have the right to choice.
