Verizon says it accidentally sent more than 12,000 unlisted phone numbers, names, and addresses to the company that publishes the phone book in Hagerstown and Washington County Maryland. Police, crime victims, and others are angry. Many people say they have unlisted phone numbers to protect their personal safety. Now Verizon says it'll republish, pass out the new book, and credit the customers who had their information compromised. The president of the police union says it's not enough. What do you think Verizon should do?

Verizon’s exhibit of arrogant, casual la fare attitude they’ve taken so far is stupidity in it's fullest possible understanding ...much of the damage is in the publication of addresses ...those include domestic violence victims, crime witnesses, confidentially of law enforcement people in sensitive positions and areas of enforcement ...

…restorin' the terror these people have had disrupt their peace of mind for them selves and/ or their family members is quite a bit of damage in it’s self …it’s certain to be some time for that to settle down or go away, if ever … if these people want to acquire new home locations to restore the terror and /or threat to the well being of these people, Verizon should pay for every dam dime it takes to accomplish that, temporary accommodations, anything!!!! …

Here's an idea.....
The phone company messed up and all these people are now living in fear of some dark force chasing after them from their past. SO let's make a big story out of it and put it on the news so not only Verizon and the actual people it effects. BUT let the people these customers are afraid of be aware they better hurry and get the new phone book before Verizon does a recall. Which now is mainly out of the question to be effective! No let's announce it to everyone before it can be handled the correct way and with the SAFETY of those concerned in mind.
The only thing Verizon can due now (due to the media) is offer to change their number for free. There is no way any court would force them to pay for new housing and such. Although good idea, ain't gonna happen.
