The man behind the wheel during a deadly Metrobus accident plead guilty today to two counts of negligent vehicular homicide. Two women died in the accident last Valentine's Day at 7th and Pennsylvania Ave. NW. The driver says he didn't yeild to the pedestrians as he should have. The prosecutor recommended 3 years in jail. The driver will be sentenced in December. Do you think that recommendation would be a fair sentence? Do you think Metro does enough to keep passengers and pedestrians safe? Do you think the bus driver should get his license back?

I think that's the perfect charge for this particular case. The requested sentence doesn't seem out of line, but my guess is he'll actually get a bit less. Since this isn't a federal charge, he will also be eligible for "good time".

Of course, the inevitable civil lawsuits will ruin him financially for the rest of his life, and he'll never drive another bus.

I honsetly think he made a mistake and it was an accident. We've all made a turn before with out look both ways. atleast more than 90% of us. I believe he need to be puinsh which should result in some jail time and I also believe he should have his CDL revoke. He diffently shouldn't be driving no more buses. Its actual up to the bus driver to make sure the passenger and pedestrains are safe. not metro

At age 9 I decided I wanted to be a reporter and here I am. I've been at Fox5 for 8 years. Covering all kinds of news - investigations, features, you name it. I've had the privilege of meeting a lot of fascinating people. Many have been kind enough to share their stories with me. In the news business, every day is a new adventure!
