Being a veteran is an honor that the veterans administration has really made  hard to be proud of. The amount of time it takes them to approve veterans claims is ridiculious. I have been out of work since October 2006 and had every door I knocked on for answers slammed in my face. The claims promised to you are almost impossible to receive and the administrations job is to give the veteran as little as possible. It seems that file sharing is not an option they want to use, their excuse is there is only one file per veteran. The veterans are suffering at an alarming rate and as we lose more veterans we are gaining more also. They may be taken care at the active duty level and then they become one of us. I have written letters to Senator John Warner and Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi. I was advised that this action slows down the approval process, because of the one file theory. Today as I was writing this blog, I received a phone call from a gentleman that worked for vocational rehabiltation in Washington D.C.. This guy told me he had spoken with the counsler in charge of my case ( whom i had left a message) and he asked him to call me. His response was you call him and he said I am not in charge of his case. Then he repied tell him to call me then. These are the types of problems and attitudes veterans face through-out the system. As a veteran I am tired of these problems and someone needs to be held responsible.

Well, the money taken away from ALL MILITARY expenditures by the lefties has left the VA as damaged as the soldiers. Blame your senators, congressmen and the mismanagement of the agency and others by folks who maybe shouldn't be working there. The typical admin GS-n types aren't paying close attention to anything but TV at their desks.
The error rates of some of the clearks and all is pathetic!

Clinton left office with an order 3 days before swearing in the newly elected Prez that the VA would revise qualifications of vets who may recieve fulfillment of the obligation the Government they said they would provide ...the quality of medical care over the past 20 years or so seems to be commendable but education opportunity is effectively being accomplished under enlistment policy ...family assistance is sadly non existent and I think rehab care could stand to be more encompassing

I was one that had went on after my service and had accomplished transitioning to civilian life over the years to well and health care benifits I was looking to recieve weren't to be forth comming till another day when I had less wealth ...at least my younger brother was able to recieve some pretty good cardiac care and treatment in his later years ...the VA system has been a political football since time imemorial ...now we,ve got another generation of vets who no doubt are due to have some ups and downs with the system

...I'm disapointed I couldn't be of some greater consolation to ya "vet" ...just too much talk like the politicans

Disabled Veteran, Father of two who enjoys sports and cooking. I am also interested in finding a way to provide aid to veterans that the Veterans Administration has driven to financial disaster (I am one).
