Once again the Veterans Administration has let down the people whom they are suppose to help. The government has become a place that has taken advantage of the ones who keep and have kept this part of the world safe. We hear everyday of the way this system has lets us down and as a veteran I am mad as hell!!!!!! This system has to change or we are going to end up with a military that we will not be to proud of. I had the pleasure of talking with Congressman Robert Wittmann's office this morning and found out that our Congress has no jurisdiction over the VA. So who does, is all the talking they do a dog and pony show, since they can't help us. Hearing the news this morning shows that the veterans are not high among the list of wrongs that need to be fixed. How can the government continue to ask our military to defend our country when you don't give us what we have earned or deserve? I have been fighting this system for 18 months and all you keep hearing is about the back-log of claims. What happens when our volunteers figure out that this system is not working, will the draft return? Through the whole campaign process the issue of Veterans care has not been touched. How is this possible, we have got to fit into this somehow. Everyday veterans are losing their homes, families and lives do to stress and strains of trying to get claims approved. This makes no sense, food, gas and the cost of living increase daily and the veterans can't afford to live. This government has no problems taking care of itself and the vet's should fall under the same system as the politicians. It is time for someone to take this serious and stop playing games with peoples lives. I have been out of work since October 2006 due service connected issues, and is ridiculous what I have had to go through. I have had to submit the same paperwork over and over again, which they said they still have not received it. You can't keep sending people out to do a job and not take care of them if they need your support or help. We gave our support to a government we believed in and now you are turning your back on us. This is going to eventually bite us where it hurts and the government we once served and honored is going to wonder why no one wants to serve. To all the politicians, this system is not working and you should see where our military is headed. Also why should veterans have to show a financial hardship in order to have claim expedited? This is a position no one wants to be in and should not have to face. I was not facing this type of hardship when I joined the Marine Corp and should not be put in that situation now. As a marine I was always told that putting yourself in a financial hardship is cause for disciplinary action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is time for the politicians to put as much time into protecting the veterans as they do in their campaigns.

At the time I wrote my blog I did not have the last names of the peoeple who helped me. Now thanks to another phone from the young lady this morning I have those names, the young lady is Gina Julian and Lee Toothaker. Theses two people where amazinging and went far and beyond their duties. As a veteran I still feel the system has many flaws and the veterans have to pull together to fix this. Veterans start writing, let's flood every office until something changes we have to force this issue. It is time they see that veterans vote and we deserve better. Once again thanks for good people and veterans don't give up keep fighting, they hope we will give up. If they won't help us let's force them out!!!! Once again thanks Gina And Lee.

It seems as the employees ot the Veterans Administration really don't know their jobs as well as they should. I have been figthing the VA for the last three months for my pay. They have made my life a living hell. The surgery I had last year has not let me go back to work and the VA had done everything it could to denie my claims. During this time I had spoken to many of the rude and nasty reps you speak to when you call the 800 number. When you talk to someone you never get the same information from them. My file set in someones office for over six weeks and no one could tell me why. This past Friday I made another call to the info line and finally found someone who really wanted to help me.
The gentleman I spoke to was really bothered about what was going on, he listened to what I had to say and put me on hold. After a few minutes he came back and transferred me to a young lady that was more than helpful. Come to find out the issuses I was having, should not have ever been a issue. There should have been a time frame of thirteen months for recovery from the surgery I had. The finacial problems I was facing should have never been . This was somethings that the Veterans Administration had screwed up in their rush to micro manage what Veterans are given instead of what they have earned. The administration has to be held to higher stanadards, this young lady personally walked my file thru every stage that it took to get it approved. This person did more for me than my Senator's office or my letters to Mr. Gates himself and these people are in charge. When do veterans stop getting screwed? The Veterans Administration can hide behind their mistakes with nothing said and no penalties. This has to change and the burden of proof should be put on the VA not the veteran. Also the supervisors need to know the guidelines for each claim or go back to training. They felled again, but what will be done? We need a Veterans Bill Of Rights!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You Lee And Gina two people who really care about Veterans and we need more like them. We would have a better system. This was a matter that was mishandled for months. But was taken care of in one day by someone that was just doing their jobs.

It is time for the veterans to step up and force our poiticians to revamp the whole veterans system. Claims that pertain to a time period for convalescents should be approved in thirty days. This is plenty of time to verify this type of claim. With the way information is shared there is no way this processes should take as long as they do. The Veterans Administration should be online with the healthcare system. I had surgery in October 2006 and was told I needed a second session of therapy. I was told I could not have therapy again due to a service agreement with the service provider. Veterans can only receive therapy one time in a calender year (what a joke). We have veterans in both houses, when will they realize their comrades are suffering? Jim Webb's son served and Jim Webb is a veteran. Is he to blind to see what's going on or do they just not care. I don't know about you but I am tired of this!!!!!! Give the veterans better care and remember without the veterans past and present ,they would not have the position they have. We are all a band of brothers of one service, let's finally stand together.

Being a veteran is an honor that the veterans administration has really made hard to be proud of. The amount of time it takes them to approve veterans claims is ridiculious. I have been out of work since October 2006 and had every door I knocked on for answers slammed in my face. The claims promised to you are almost impossible to receive and the administrations job is to give the veteran as little as possible. It seems that file sharing is not an option they want to use, their excuse is there is only one file per veteran. The veterans are suffering at an alarming rate and as we lose more veterans we are gaining more also. They may be taken care at the active duty level and then they become one of us. I have written letters to Senator John Warner and Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi. I was advised that this action slows down the approval process, because of the one file theory. Today as I was writing this blog, I received a phone call from a gentleman that worked for vocational rehabiltation in Washington D.C.. This guy told me he had spoken with the counsler in charge of my case ( whom i had left a message) and he asked him to call me. His response was you call him and he said I am not in charge of his case. Then he repied tell him to call me then. These are the types of problems and attitudes veterans face through-out the system. As a veteran I am tired of these problems and someone needs to be held responsible.
