Who would have thought a few years ago we'd be paying upwards of $4 a gallon for gas and it's not even summer yet?  It doesn't seem like it will ever go down.

It's so high now.. people are finally fed up with it and doing something about it.  What would you do to save a buck on gas?  Some people are not driving as much, others are carpooling and consolidating on errands.  Every mile saved is money in your pocket.

Sales of hybrid vehicles are climbing and people are trading in gas guzzlers for other more fuel friendly cars.  Think about this.  AAA says if you trade in that four wheel drive mid-sized SUV for a small sedan you'd save about $4,000 a year.   I'd take that.

So tell us what measures would you take to save and how high do you think gas prices will go?

I have combined all my chores and errands into one day per week. I don't go any further than I absolutely have to when I leave home. I have started doing without if I need something on a day other than when I do errands (medicine, groceries, etc). We don't eat out anymore except on rare occasions and we don't go anywhere anymore because of the gas prices. It seems there is no relief in sight. The White House is taking what little enjoyment people had. People need to ban together and stay home and away from the gas pumps for several days - Memorial Day weekend. See how the oil companies would feel then. As long as we keep buying gas at these prices they are going to keep raising it. Let's try to take control of our lives again.

It's not much of a savings if you have to deeper in dept with car payments!

One man told me the price is getting so high for gas that it's getting to the point where only people with money will be able to drive and the people without money will have to walk.

Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but certainly the price point is pushing us into a class divide. The middle class and poor are really going to be hurt. Gas prices are eating away at a large percentage of people's household income.
