It seems to me Obama is a great flawless speaker when it come to speeches that have been prepared to make a statement.
But when he is asked questions not of the norm or on something that directly effects him. Without the prearrange answer we seem to get this:
Barack Obama’s response to Anderson Cooper’s question on executive experience.
AC: Some Republican critics say, you don’t have the
experience to handle a situation like this [Hurricane Gustav]. They’ve
in fact said that Governor Palin has more executive experience as mayor
of a small town and as governor of a big state like Alaska. What’s your
response?
BO: Well, you know, my understanding is that, uh, Governor Palin’s
town of Wasilly [sic] has, uh, 50 employees, uh, uh, we’ve got 2500,
uh, in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year.
Uh, uh, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month.
Uh, so I think that, uh, our ability to manage large systems, uh, and
to, uh, execute, uh, I think has been made clear over the last couple
of years. Uh, and certainly, in terms of, uh, the legislation that I’ve
passed just dealing with this issue post-Katrina, uh, of how we handle
emergency management. The fact that, uh, many of my recommendations
were adopted and are being put in place, uh, as we speak indicates to
extent to which we can provide the kinds of support and good service
that the American people expect.

Once you get passed the stammering and babbling that we’ve come to
accept from Obama, its pretty clear that, as usual, Obama has no idea
what he’s talking about. As Morrissey notes, Governor Palin is no
longer the mayor of “Wasilly,” but the Governor of the state of Alaska
that has a massive budget and workforce. If McCain and Palin repeatedly
referred to Obama as “Community Organizer Obama” the Obama campaign
would be up in arms, so I don’t know why the Obama campaign is allowed
to ignore Governor Palin’s gubernatorial experience without any
consequence.
He then goes on to claim that campaigning itself gives him the
necessary executive experience to run this country. So, if we were to
hold McCain/Palin to the same standard as we hold Obama (which, I’m
sure Obama has a reason why we shouldn’t) all four contenders have
executive experience, with McCain’s Naval squadrons and Palin’s
Governorship pushing the Republicans over the top.
Heres a video of when all of a sudden during a town hall speech Obama's teleprompter went out. Can you tell the second it goes off? I can.
