Mic @ the Metro premiered this Tuesday LIVE at the Clarendon Metro Station on our 5pm News and it was AWESOME! I was out with FOX-5's Sue Palka searching for super singers and we had no trouble finding talent. We picked out our five finalists for the week and now its time for you to decide who will compete for free studio time!!!!!!
Go to myfoxdc.com and click on the entertainment page to vote!

BUT the competition is FAR from over. We will be 'taking it to the streets' (as Taylor Hicks would sing) each Tuesday for four more weeks so you still have time to choir your way into the competition. Next Tuesday we'll be at the Dupont Circle Metro Station looking for our next five weekly finalists so come out to get your chance at STARDOM!

Philliefan, the closest we will be to Pentagon City is when we are at the Franconia-Springfield metro station on 2/6.
And GhanainaPrincess, we are actually going to that area next week. We will be at the Silver Spring metro station on 1/30 from 5pm - 6pm. I hope you can make it out!

Hi Paul,

I had a great time singing at the Dupont Metro last night for your program 'Mic @ the Metro.' I was wondering how you vote and when that will be available? I'd like to pass the information on to my family and friends. Thank you!

Courtney

Can people vote more than once??

Is there anyway you can limit how many votes a person gets per computer?? The way it's set up now people can vote numerous times for the same person. So, someone can actually just vote for themselves all day.

Yeah, the voting really needs to be changed to include IP addresses or valid emails as a means of confirming that people are only voting once.

Also, what time does voting close?

Courtr26 and PGFDE121, Right now we do not have a limit to votes and I understand your concern. We had no idea we would get such a response for our segment. Since I have nothing to do with the department that works the web I'll talk to them and see what I can do.

Hey Paul!! You were the guy with the clipboard, right? Mic at the Metro is the best idea since American Idol itself!! I also sang at Dupont Circle on Tuesday. I'm the one who did "Wrong Side of Memphis". What an awesome experience!! Meeting Sue Palka was a thrill, too. I heard I was on TV this morning!! People at work have been telling me all day that they saw me. Too bad it won't be repeated, because I didn't get to see myself.:( I hope to sing again in Silver Spring next Tuesday, to have another shot at the weekly finals. There was so much talent at Dupont Circle, it must have been hard to choose just five. Hope to see you again in Silver Spring!! - Arlene Jaye

I think votes are being limited to one now, because I already voted on this computer, and when I log onto the page, I get the results instead of the voting list.

Barnsinger, I am the 'guy with the clipboard'. Thanks so much for coming out! I love the enthusiasm of all the singers and I can't believe the great talent we have seen so far. I hope to see you at the Silver Spring Metro on Tuesday.

Anything new with the "voting" that is a gross misrepresentation of what the actaul vote would reflect? The news (and Fox 5) is supposed to represent truth-in-media...I think we all realize this contest obviously does not reflect that standard.

Here is another problem with the voting tally. You can repeatedly press the "vote" button without having to goto the results screen, which in turn means you could sit here and in a matter of minutes, accumulate hundreds of votes! Interesting to note that one candidate's totals increase by thousands during the hours between 11PM and 7AM this morning. Hmmm....

Ok people it is obvious that our site is having trouble supporting the number of hits that it is getting to vote.
1. Don't shoot the massager. I am trying my hardest to let the correct people know the concerns. They are not going unheard they are just not easy to fix.
2. The competition is far from over. If you do not win week one or two, come out again. We only judge the contestants from each day so if you didn't win one day you could definitely win another...especially if you made the top five before. Did anyone see the auditions from Seattle? Tommy Daniels was sent to Hollywood after his THIRD audition so don't give up.
3. The whole idea of this segment was to showcase the talent of the DC area...not to get into some debate about a 'voting scandal.'

That's all I got. I'll be out at the Silver Spring metro station tomorrow at 5pm with Sue and Jazz Musician Marcus Johnson. Hope to see you there!!!!
