Over the Land of the Free and the ...OOops  Guess not anymore.

Bailout = Government Control of the Failing Financial Systems, which will lead to control of everything..now even the banks that aren't failing.  Some are saying they'll sell it all back to the Private sector after it "Gets Better".... Yea Right.

Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.....   The rest of the Word is calling for the Destruction of the Free Market..which in turns Destroys Freedom......for All.  We were the Last True Bastion of Freedom left in the World........   Were.....

So I guess it's time to Shelve the Constitution in a Museum......Delegate the Ideals of Freedom and Liberty to the Story Books.........  and tell stories to our Grandchildren about When we were all Free.......

Because that is Probably the only way they'll ever know.........

No barbed wire...it might hurt the thieves, allotment holders told

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 9:26 PM on 09th October 2008

A gardener who fenced off his allotment with barbed wire after being targeted by thieves has been ordered to take it down – in case intruders scratch themselves.

Bill Malcolm erected the 3ft fence after thieves struck three times in just four months, stealing tools worth around £300 from his shed and ransacking his vegetable patch.

But Bromsgrove district council has ordered the 61-year-old to remove the waist-high fence on health and safety grounds.

Bill Malcolm

Demoralised: Bill Malcolm and his fence

Mr Malcolm, who has grown potatoes, onions, beetroot and asparagus on two patches at the Round Hill allotments in Marlbrook, Worcestershire, for the past eight years, said: 'It's an absolutely ridiculous situation.

'All I wanted was to protect my property but the wire had to go in case a thief scratched himself.

'The fence was just a single strand and ringing my property. It was only 3ft high – it wasn't as though I'd dug a moat filled with piranha fish and erected 6ft iron railings.

'The council said they were unhappy about the precautions I had made but my response was to tell them that only someone climbing over on to my allotment could possibly hurt themselves.

Bill Malcolm

Security battle: Intruders have struck Bill's allotments three times in four months

'They shouldn't be trespassing in the first place but the council apologised and said they didn't want to be sued by a wounded thief.

'I told them to let the thief sue me so at least that way I would know who was breaking into my allotment but everything I said fell on deaf ears. It seems as though they are so wrapped up in red tape, they are unable to help me.'

Mr Malcolm said he had been robbed three times since June, along with around 16 of the 50 allotment keepers on the site.

HOW ACORN GOT ME INTO VOTE SCAM

Christopher Barkley

CLEVELAND - Two Ohio voters, including Domino's pizza worker Christopher Barkley , claimed yesterday that they were hounded by the community-activist group ACORN to register to vote several times, even though they made it clear they'd already signed up.

Barkley estimated he'd registered to vote "10 to 15" times after canvassers for ACORN, whose political wing has endorsed Barack Obama, relentlessly pursued him and others.

Claims such as his have sparked election officials to probe ACORN.

"I kept getting approached by folks who asked me to register," Barkley said. "They'd ask me if I was registered. I'd say yes, and they'd ask me to do it [register] again.

"Some of them were getting paid to collect names. That was their sob story, and I bought it," he said.

Barkley is one of at least three people who have been subpoenaed by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections as part of a wider inquiry into possible voter fraud by ACORN. The group seeks to register low-income voters, who skew overwhelmingly Democratic.

"You can tell them you're registered as many times as you want - they do not care," said Lateala Goins, 21, who was subpoenaed.

"They will follow you to the buses, they will follow you home, it does not matter," she told The Post.

She added that she never put down an address on any of the registration forms, just her name.

A third subpoenaed voter, Freddie Johnson, 19, filled out registration cards 72 times over 18 months, officials said.

OK ..I have read the trascript from the Debate last night.  It is full of Marxist and Socialist concepts, but yet no one seems to care.  I care..so here is the Breakdown from both Canidates..I read the Transcript from this Link:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/07/presidential
.debate.transcript/

So...here we Go...

Obama in answering the First Question said this:

"It means that we are helping state and local governments set up road projects and bridge projects that keep people in their jobs."

So is he saying that when the economy tanks we are all going to be building Bridges for the State???  Please...I know he also mentioned the Bailout, a Huge Socialist endeavor...but that is an obvious one that both Mccain and Obama backed......anyway..lets continue.

Mccain in also answering the First Question said this:

"As president of the United States, Alan, I would order the secretary of the treasury to immediately buy up the bad home loan mortgages in America and renegotiate at the new value of those homes -- at the diminished value of those homes and let people be able to make those -- be able to make those payments and stay in their homes."

Now remember this is just after he said that Washington needs to get control of it's spending....I guess he didn't mean the Socialist Program that he suggested above.

Obama in answering the Next question he said this:

"Sen. McCain is right that we've got to stabilize housing prices. But underlying that is loss of jobs and loss of income. That's something that the next treasury secretary is going to have to work on."

So the Treasury Secretary is going to be in charge of Creating Jobs and the Income of those Jobs???  Excuse Me?   Oh ..I forgot..we are all going to be working for the State building Bridges..

Mccain in answering the next question said this:

"Well, thank you, Oliver, and that's an excellent question, because as you just described it, bailout, when I believe that it's rescue,"

Um..No Senator Mccain..it's a Bailout..a Socialist Bailout..ok he continued

"So this rescue package means that we will stabilize markets, we will shore up these institutions. But it's not enough. That's why we're going to have to go out into the housing market and we're going to have to buy up these bad loans and we're going to have to stabilize home values, and that way, Americans, like Alan, can realize the American dream and stay in their home."

So the Government Getting a Huge Chunk of the Private Sector isn't enough...we need to envolve Government in Everything even our Homes....Gee...  The American Dream is More Government Control????    That sounds like Free Market doesn't it??

Obama in answering the same question said this:

"This is not the end of the process; this is the beginning of the process. And that's why it's going to be so important for us to work with homeowners to make sure that they can stay in their homes.

The secretary already has the power to do that in the rescue package, but it hasn't been exercised yet. And the next president has to make sure that the next Treasury secretary is thinking about how to strengthen you as a home buyer, you as a homeowner, and not simply think about bailing out banks on Wall Street."

So he is saying the Government did Bailout Wall Street Banks, but it shouldn't stop at that.  The Government should do your thinking to strengthen you as a Home Buyer and Home Owner.  Nice......I am Glad he recognizes How Dumb we  all are....lol

Obama on the follow up of this same question said this:

"The problem is we still have a archaic, 20th-century regulatory system for 21st-century financial markets. We're going to have to coordinate with other countries to make sure that whatever actions we take work.

But most importantly, we're going to have to help ordinary families be able to stay in their homes, make sure that they can pay their bills, deal with critical issues like health care and energy, and we're going to have to change the culture in Washington so that lobbyists and special interests aren't driving the process and your voices aren't being drowned out."

OK so we need to make sure the Globalization is still on track and coordinate with other countries more Global regulations.....um..ok    And we have to make sure ordinary families will be able to stay in their homes...?? Who decides what is ordinary ? Government?  How is that Freedom when the Government ensures success from Banks to Main Street??  Please.....Marxism..   Heck, they ignored our voices when they voted for this Bailout..and listened to their special intrests..look at the Pork they put in there..and Obama and Mccain voted for it....

Mccain in responding to this said:

"I think it depends on what we do. I think if we act effectively, if we stabilize the housing market -- which I believe we can, if we go out and buy up these bad loans, so that people can have a new mortgage at the new value of their home --"

More "Government Can Fix Anything" Babble.......   Comrade..

Obama when  talking about History said this Confusing piece of information:

"But I think it's important just to remember a little bit of history. When George Bush came into office, we had surpluses. And now we have half-a-trillion-dollar deficit annually.

When George Bush came into office, our debt -- national debt was around $5 trillion. It's now over $10 trillion. We've almost doubled it."

OK....First he said we had a Surplus...when Bush came into office...then in the next sentence he said that we had a $5 Trillion Dollar National Debt when Bush came into office....??????????     If you have DEBT...HOW CAN YOU HAVE A SURPLUS????  If things are not Paid Off..then you don't have Extra Money.........

Obama a few questions later said this when talking about sacrafice:

"And so it's important to understand that the -- I think the American people are hungry for the kind of leadership that is going to tackle these problems not just in government, but outside of government."

That is a Hidden marxist babble for....The Government Wants to Run your Life..all of it!  He continues:

"But each and every one of us can start thinking about how can we save energy in our homes, in our buildings. And one of the things I want to do is make sure that we're providing incentives so that you can buy a fuel efficient car that's made right here in the United States of America, not in Japan or South Korea, making sure that you are able to weatherize your home or make your business more fuel efficient.

And that's going to require effort from each and every one of us.

And the last point I just want to make. I think the young people of America are especially interested in how they can serve, and that's one of the reasons why I'm interested in doubling the Peace Corps, making sure that we are creating a volunteer corps all across this country that can be involved in their community, involved in military service, so that military families and our troops are not the only ones bearing the burden of renewing America."

What he wants to say is that we are going to make you be energy effecient..no choice..no freedom in the matter.  Plus he wants to force companies to Build what the Government Dictates..as usual and where....  As far as the Volunteer thing goes...His Group in Chicago that he and His wife started a Chapter of...was a Marxist Organization that Brainwashed Kids......  That is the Volunteer Corps that he wants all across the Country...he wants to make sure we all bear a Burden...our choice or not.

He Continues into the Next question:

"And so part of the problem, I think, for a lot of people who are listening here tonight is they don't feel as if they are sharing the burden with other folks.

I mean, you know, it's tough to ask a teacher who's making $30,000 or $35,000 a year to tighten her belt when people who are making much more than her are living pretty high on the hog.

And that's why I think it's important for the president to set a tone that says all of us are going to contribute, all of us are going to make sacrifices, and it means that, yes, we may have to cut some spending, although I disagree with Sen. McCain about an across-the- board freeze.

That's an example of an unfair burden sharing. That's using a hatchet to cut the federal budget."

OK this Whole thing is about wealth redistribution.....from everyone... that is the  Burden... we all need to be Poor so we have to need the Government.......sad

More Obama on the class War:

"If you make less than a quarter of a million dollars a year, you will not see a single dime of your taxes go up. If you make $200,000 a year or less, your taxes will go down.

Now, Sen. McCain talks about small businesses. Only a few percent of small businesses make more than $250,000 a year. So the vast majority of small businesses would get a tax cut under my plan."

Ok so if the Government decides your Rich...we tax you more....so who decides who is "rich"?  Tax all equally..or none....that is Fair.....

I hate to tell Obama that most of those Small Businesses that make more than $250,000 are Doctors, Dentists and Healthcare Professionals....and Guess who the tax increase is going to get passed to....You and me...that is Big Government, Class Warfare well thought out...Force Healthcare Costs up through the taxing of those Providing it...causing prices to rise...then use that as excuse to take over the Healthcare sector by the Government....Nice... Sneaky..

Mccain on the Environment said this:

"We can move forward, and clean up our climate, and develop green technologies, and alternate -- alternative energies for -- for hybrid, for hydrogen, for battery-powered cars, so that we can clean up our environment and at the same time get our economy going by creating millions of jobs."

It's nice to see that the Government is going to do all of this.....like everything else.  I guess the Free Market and the Cosumers mean nothing..anymore to anyone.

Obama on this issue said this:

"And it is absolutely critical that we understand this is not just a challenge, it's an opportunity, because if we create a new energy economy, we can create five million new jobs, easily, here in the United States.

It can be an engine that drives us into the future the same way the computer was the engine for economic growth over the last couple of decades.

And we can do it, but we're going to have to make an investment. The same way the computer was originally invented by a bunch of government scientists who were trying to figure out, for defense purposes, how to communicate, we've got to understand that this is a national security issue, as well."

Oh it's an opportunity to Grow Government....so Government Scientists can dictate to all of us what we want and what is Green..the investment is More of our Tax Dollars and the Loss of our Freedom of Choice.  On we Go....

Mccain on the follow up said this:

"I think pure research and development investment on the part of the United States government is certainly appropriate. I think once it gets into productive stages, that we ought to, obviously, turn it over to the private sector."

Yea Right John, just like the Government is Going to give up all the Shares in the Banks..that it has Bailed Out....Gee let me hold my Breath on that one....The only things that come out of the Government in Research and Development are New Weapons or a More Expensive Stamp.

Obama on Healthcare said this:

"So one of the things that I have said from the start of this campaign is that we have a moral commitment as well as an economic imperative to do something about the health care crisis that so many families are facing.

So here's what I would do. If you've got health care already, and probably the majority of you do, then you can keep your plan if you are satisfied with it. You can keep your choice of doctor. We're going to work with your employer to lower the cost of your premiums by up to $2,500 a year.

And we're going to do it by investing in prevention. We're going to do it by making sure that we use information technology so that medical records are actually on computers instead of you filling forms out in triplicate when you go to the hospital. That will reduce medical errors and reduce costs.

If you don't have health insurance, you're going to be able to buy the same kind of insurance that Sen. McCain and I enjoy as federal employees. Because there's a huge pool, we can drop the costs. And nobody will be excluded for pre-existing conditions, which is a huge problem."

So it's nice to see the Government is Going to Dictate Morals to me...I thought Republicans only did that.   So if most of us Have insurance like he said...then why screw it up?  And they are going to help us ...by making us do PREVENTION?   No more Cheeseburgers or Cigs...gee that is Freedom isn't it?   Instead of allowing people to buy Healthcare that the Politicians get...why not cut out Government Insurance?  And save the tax payers a ton of taxes so we can have more of OUR MONEY and Buy our OWN insurance??  Nah..too easy..  Oh yea ..he mentioned that Mandatory Health IT Plan that BUSH Signed in 2006 FORCING PRIVATE PRACTICE to Go ELECTRONIC in their RECORDS.  Also that Plan Gives GOVERNMENT access to ALL OF OUR MEDICAL RECORDS...WITHOUT A WARRENT.   Nice.....just something else he agrees with BUSH on.

Mccain said this on the same question:

"And we need to do all of the things that are necessary to make it more efficient. Let's put health records online, that will reduce medical errors, as they call them. Let's have community health centers. Let's have walk-in clinics. Let's do a lot of things to impose efficiencies."

This is refering to the Same BUSH executive order that was signed in 2006 that I described above... the Federal Health IT Plan.   This is right before he said that Government needs to stay out of Healthcare...but this BUSH Health IT Plan is Government Intervention!

Mccain Continues in the Follw up:

" I think it's a responsibility, in this respect, in that we should have available and affordable health care to every American citizen, to every family member. And with the plan that -- that I have, that will do that.

But government mandates I -- I'm always a little nervous about. But it is certainly my responsibility. It is certainly small-business people and others, and they understand that responsibility. American citizens understand that. Employers understand that."

Um..OK..I thought he just said before that Government should stay out...but it's HIS responsibility????    I wish he would make up his mind....

Obama said this:

"Well, I think it should be a right for every American. In a country as wealthy as ours, for us to have people who are going bankrupt because they can't pay their medical bills"

Excuse me??? I missed that part in the Constitution....Life, Liberty, Pursuit of happiness...and Health????   Um..No My Marxist Comrade...Not there.

Obama Continues:

"Number one, let me just repeat, if you've got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I'm going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You'll still have choice of doctor. There's no mandate involved."

Yea you can keep your Doctor, Insurance..but not that Cheeseburger, Cig or anything else the Government decides is unhealthy in His Mandatory Prevention Plan .......Please

On we Go with Obama he also said:

"Now, it's true that I say that you are going to have to make sure that your child has health care, because children are relatively cheap to insure"

Nice...So if they were expensive..Sorry....but that is besides the Point...let me KEEP more of MY money..and I can ensure MY CHILD!    Why is that Soo hard to understand?

OK more Obama on Healthcare:

"And the reason that it's a problem to go shopping state by state, you know what insurance companies will do? They will find a state -- maybe Arizona, maybe another state -- where there are no requirements for you to get cancer screenings, where there are no requirements for you to have to get pre-existing conditions, and they will all set up shop there.

That's how in banking it works. Everybody goes to Delaware, because they've got very -- pretty loose laws when it comes to things like credit cards.

And in that situation, what happens is, is that the protections you have, the consumer protections that you need, you're not going to have available to you."

OK here is where the States rights issue comes in...... he wants to take away the State's rights to regulate Insurance...and the Banks it appears.  He believes the Fed should Control All.....with Him at the Helm.... COMRADE!  THE GOVERNMENT CAN PROTECT YOU!  Gee who needs the Constitution..he can fix everything...

OK I am Skipping the Foreign Policy...Too much on this Blog already..Now for their Closing Remarks...

Obama Said this in his closing Remarks:

"But here's what I do know. I know that I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for the fact that this country gave me opportunity. I came from very modest means. I had a single mom and my grandparents raised me and it was because of the help of scholarships and my grandmother scrimping on things that she might have wanted to purchase and my mom, at one point, getting food stamps in order for us to put food on the table.

Despite all that, I was able to go to the best schools on earth and I was able to succeed in a way that I could not have succeeded anywhere else in this country.

The same is true for Michelle and I'm sure the same is true for a lot of you.

And the question in this election is: are we going to pass on that same American dream to the next generation? Over the last eight years, we've seen that dream diminish."

OK, he is telling us that with a "Little" Government help that he made it.  But he has been telling us that Little Help isn't enough for you and me..becasue we can't do it like he did...without MORE Government help..I'm Sorry  that is Garbage.  If he can..then why can't I???   Hypocrate...power Hungry Hypocrate.  Yea let's not pass on the American Dream of Freedom and Liberty...Let's Pass on the Marxist Dream of Government Mandated Economic Equality..and Misery!!!!    Twit....

Obama continues:

"We need fundamental change. That's what's at stake in this election. That's the reason I decided to run for president, and I'm hopeful that all of you are prepared to continue this extraordinary journey that we call America."

Yea Lets change the Fundamentals of Freedom and Liberty for all and Give it all To the Government!!!   Thanks for Running Comrade!   Destroy America From within!!!   What a journey!

Here are some of  Mccain's Closing remarks:

"The challenges that we face are unprecedented. Americans are hurting tonight in a way they have not in our generation.

There are challenges around the world that are new and different and there will be different -- we will be talking about countries sometime in the future that we hardly know where they are on the map, some Americans."

Yea John, but I guess unlike Past "Great" Generations we Need MORE GOVERNMENT Bailouts!   The Countries we are going to hear about are the ones that Join this Great One World Government that all you Politicians want..but first you guys have to destroy Liberty and Freedom...so we Fall in Line with the Propaganda!

Sad...we have a couple of Socialist running for President!

I think Mickey Mouse could do better!   Oh wait...then we would have to listen to It's a Small world everytime he came out  for a Press Conference!

Official: N. Korea Trying to Develop Small Nuclear Warhead

Wednesday, October 08, 2008

SEOUL, South Korea —  A top South Korean military officer said Wednesday that he believes North Korea is trying to develop a nuclear warhead that is small enough to be carried by its missiles.

North Korea is believed to maintain enough plutonium to produce about half a dozen bombs, but it is not believed to have mastered the technology needed fit a nuclear weapon inside a missile warhead.

Gen. Kim Tae-young, chairman of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a parliamentary committee that he believes "North Korea has been pushing to develop a small warhead to be mounted on a missile," according to the general's office.

Kim said it was not clear whether the North had already manufactured such a warhead.

Last Night listening to the Presidential debate it made me wonder what Country was I living in..?

It sounded more like Marx debating Lenin on who could increase the Federal Government more, decrease State's Rights and Destroy Liberty and Freedom Faster.

I can not believe that the 2 people running for president  have never talked about Liberty and Freedom, but instead have bragged about how they will increase the size of Government.

It is no Longer, Ask Not What this Country can Do for You, But what You can Do for your Country....    It is now What can the Government do for me...Damn the Consequences...

This is Not the Image of Freedom and Liberty Our ForeFathers invisioned for Us....this is the Image of  Tyranny they Feared and fought against.

What are we leaving to Our Children....the Light of Liberty...?

Or the Chains of Oppression?

Obama sought HUD grant for donor's project

Letter to Bush ghostwritten by development consultant

(Contact)
Monday, October 6, 2008

EXCLUSIVE:

Agence France-Presse/Getty Images In a speech in Reno, Nev., Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama blamed the financial crisis on a "failed philosophy - a philosophy that we cannot afford to continue."

Sen. Barack Obama, who vows to change Washington by trimming wasteful spending and disclosing special-interest requests, wrote the Bush administration last year to seek a multimillion-dollar federal grant for a Chicago housing project that is behind schedule and whose development team includes a longtime political supporter.

Mr. Obama's letter, however, was never disclosed publicly. In fact, the letter was ghostwritten for him by a consultant for the Chicago Housing Authority, which wanted the money - a practice ethics watchdogs have frequently criticized.

The housing project through July had completed fewer than one-sixth of the 439 public housing units it had planned, court records show.

The Bush administration obliged Mr. Obama's request, awarding a $20 million competitive grant last month from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It called the project a “shining example” of urban revitalization. The Washington Times learned of the letter from Republican operatives.

As Mr. Obama campaigns for president as an agent of change who promises to clean up Washington's money game, his role in the Stateway project raises questions about the appearance of a conflict of interest and whether he has been participating in the very system he criticizes, watchdogs say.

“It's not just Senator Obama; it's endemic to Capitol Hill. It's a broad issue, where lawmakers are just simply rubber-stamping something through,” said Steve Ellis, vice president of the nonpartisan Taxpayers for Common Sense, referring to the practice of consultants writing funding requests for lawmakers.

ACORN Vegas Office Raided in Voter Fraud Investigation

ACORN's Las Vegas headquarters has been raided by Nevada authorities looking for evidence of voter fraud.

Nevada state authorities seized records and computers Tuesday from the Las Vegas office of an organization that tries to get low-income people registered to vote, after fielding complaints of voter fraud.

Bob Walsh, spokesman for the Nevada secretary of state's office, told FOXNews.com the raid was prompted by ongoing complaints about "erroneous" registration information being submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.

The group was submitting the information through a voter sign-up drive known as Project Vote.

"Some of them used nonexistent names, some of them used false addresses and some of them were duplicates of previously filed applications," Walsh said, describing the complaints, which largely came from the registrar in Clark County, Nev.

Secretary of State Ross Miller said the fraudulent registrations included  forms for the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys football team.

"Tony Romo is not registered to vote in the state of Nevada, and anybody trying to pose as Terrell Owens won't be able to cast a ballot on Nov. 4," Miller said.

Did Biden Get It Wrong? You Betcha

Monday, October 06, 2008

When you interview for a job, here is a hint: make sure you know what the job is. Joe Biden failed that test last Thursday. He couldn’t even get right what a vice president does, but the media didn’t notice.

The media is all over itself about how smart and experienced Biden is. Political analyst Charlie Cook is quoted in the Washington Post on Saturday as saying “Biden is clearly so much more knowledgeable, by a factor of about a million.” Saturday Night Live does a skit about Biden being smart, if slimy. Meanwhile, Governor Sarah Palin is treated as being nothing more than a simpleton.

Yet, take Biden’s statement from the debate on the role of the vice president:

Vice President Cheney has been the most dangerous vice president we've had probably in American history. The idea he doesn't realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that's the Executive Branch. He works in the Executive Branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.

And the primary role of the vice president of the United States of America is to support the president of the United States of America, give that president his or her best judgment when sought, and as vice president, to preside over the Senate, only in a time when in fact there's a tie vote. The Constitution is explicit.

The only authority the vice president has from the legislative standpoint is the vote, only when there is a tie vote. He has no authority relative to the Congress. The idea he's part of the Legislative Branch is a bizarre notion invented by Cheney to aggrandize the power of a unitary executive, and look where it has gotten us. It has been very dangerous.

One should be careful when throwing around terms such as “most dangerous” and “bizarre.” But Biden is confusing which part of the Constitution covers the Executive Branch (it is Article II, not Article I). More importantly, the notion that the vice president can preside over the Senate only when there is a tie vote is simply wrong. Nor is it true that the only legislative involvement the vice president has is to break tie votes. The vice president is the president of the Senate, where he interprets the rules and can only be overridden by a vote of 60 senators.

Early vice presidents spent a lot of time in the Senate. Thomas Jefferson even spent his time writing “A Manual of Parliamentary Practice: for the Use of the Senate of the United States.” Modern vice presidents may show up only when they think tie votes will occur, but that is their choice.

This isn’t rocket science. The Constitution on this point is very straightforward: “The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.”

Instead, it was Palin who got it right. Besides correctly stating that the vice president holds positions in both the executive and legislative branches, she also noted that:

Of course, we know what a vice president does. And that's not only to preside over the Senate and [I] will take that position very seriously also. I'm thankful the Constitution would allow a bit more authority given to the vice president if that vice president so chooses to exert it in working with the Senate and making sure that we are supportive of the president's policies and making sure too that our president understands what our strengths are.

But just as the vice president’s job includes more than simply being ready to assume the presidency if the president dies, the Constitution merely states what the vice president’s minimum responsibilities are.

Lawmaker Accused of Fannie Mae Conflict of Interest

Friday, October 03, 2008

WASHINGTON —  Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s.

So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.

Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.

Both Frank and Moses assured the Wall Street Journal in 1992 that they took pains to avoid any conflicts of interest. Critics, however, remain skeptical.

"It’s absolutely a conflict," said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Business & Media Institute. "He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?

"If this had been his ex-wife and he was Republican, I would bet every penny I have - or at least what’s not in the stock market - that this would be considered germane," added Gainor, a T. Boone Pickens Fellow. "But everybody wants to avoid it because he’s gay. It’s the quintessential double standard."

A top GOP House aide agreed.

"C’mon, he writes housing and banking laws and his boyfriend is a top exec at a firm that stands to gain from those laws?" the aide told FOX News. "No media ever takes note? Imagine what would happen if Frank’s political affiliation was R instead of D? Imagine what the media would say if [GOP former] Chairman [Mike] Oxley’s wife or [GOP presidential nominee John] McCain’s wife was a top exec at Fannie for a decade while they wrote the nation’s housing and banking laws."

Frank’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

HOMELESS 'DRIVEN' TO VOTE OBAMA

CLEVELAND - Volunteers supporting Barack Obama picked up hundreds of people at homeless shelters, soup kitchens and drug-rehab centers and drove them to a polling place yesterday on the last day that Ohioans could register and vote on the same day, almost no questions asked.

The huge effort by a pro-Obama group, Vote Today Ohio, takes advantage of a quirk in the state's elections laws that allows people to register and cast ballots at the same time without having to prove residency.

Republicans have argued that the window could lead to widespread voter fraud because officials wouldn't have an opportunity to verify registration information before ballots were cast.

Among the volunteers were Yori Stadlin and Vivian Lehrer of the Upper West Side, who got married last week and decided to spend their honeymoon shepherding voters to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Early today, Stadlin's van picked up William Woods, 59, at the soup kitchen of the Bishop Cosgrove Center.

"I never voted before," Woods said, because of a felony conviction that previously barred him from the polls. "Without this service, I would have had no way to get here."

I said to my wife,  I am sooooo sick of Politicians and their Corrupt Bull and lack of Representation of the people ...that I wanted to march on Washington....

I would love to grab my Don't Tread on me Flag...and March from St. Louis to Washington...I have had enough...

But can 1 Man make a difference???

Would it really matter?    Would I March on Washington Alone?

We have come to another Crossroads in Our Country.   What Path we choose will effect not only yourself, but future generations, even the world.

The current events of the Bailout Bill should prove to every Person, not in a Coma, that the Politiicans Do Not Listen to the People they are supposed to represent.  The fact that Both Presidental Canidates voted for this Bill speaks Volumes.    None of them understood it, they just wanted to do something...for the sake of doing someting.....Our Freedom and Liberty are now at stake to a Degree that Few realize.

The system is Broken, since those sworn to uphold and defend, have ignored and destroyed the Constitution.   They have failed to do their Duties in Representing the People in their Districts and have used the Idea's of Freedom and Liberty for a Doormat.  They have committed a Sin in the Eyes of the Constitution, Legislation..without Representation!   It is bad enough that the people in Washington spend OUR money like it was a Game of monoploy...but to Ignore the Cries and Shouts of the Same People whom They are suppsoeed to Represent...IS UNFORGIVABLE!    THEY HAVE DOOMED US TO FAILURE.   They have Destroyed the Foundation of THIS GREAT COUNTRY!  It is not just One Party...But Both that carry the Blame, Both that have Destroyed OUR Constitution and  the Ideals of Freedom and Liberty!  Both that have told the American People....That WASHINGTON KNOWS BETTER!   They have Spit in the Eye of All of those that have Fought for Freedom and Liberty . They have thumbed their Collective Noses at the Founding Fathers!   THERE IS NO CHANGE RUNNING FOR PRESIDEN!!!!!   Just POLITICIANS!

Those that Love this Country and the Ideals that it was Founded Upon have a Hard Decision to Make.   Those of Us that Can Not Stand By and watch as Our Country is Destroyed by Those supposed to protect it!

One Road, leads to the Destuction of the Constitution  as to be replaced by Socialism if not Communism.  The other Path, Freedom and Liberty for all....not just the Politicians.....

But the Path to Freedom and Liberty is the Harder of the two, it requires Sacrafice and Hardship, while the other just requires us to fall into a lulled sense of Hoplessness.

Who will Fight?  Who Will say ENOUGH?!?   Who will stand to be the Guardian of the Light of Liberty????

I know not what path Others May Choose......

As For Me.........

GIVE ME LIBERTY ..............OR GIVE ME DEATH!

Yesterday I had an interesting phone call, no it was not the one at 3 a.m.    It was from a Friend of mine and the First thing out of his mouth was,

"This is how it Dies...."

I was a little taken aback and blurted out...,"Who Died?"

"Not Who, What......This is how Freedom dies and Socialism happens."

Now my Friend grew up in Communist Yugoslavia and he and I have had many debates on Socialism, Communism and Freedom.   He has told me his story many times how Tito's Communist Government after WWII came and took his Grandfather's Farm and divided it up.  They were left with one room in their house while other families lived in the others.   He is the one that told me Communism is a Pipe Dream and Socialism is really Communsim in Practice.

He went on to say," Change comes packaged as something needed, something we can't do without.   And it comes fast so people don't have time to think.   Almost Overnight......When you go to sleep, you have a "free" Market and when you awake it's run by the Government."

My Response to Him was, " Now you know how the Colonists Felt 5 years before the Revolution. The Crown and Parlament stopped listening to the Colonists and Dictated Policy while stripping their Freedoms.  Taxation without representation"

He Replied, " There won't be a Revolution...."

"Funny,"   I chuckled,"  The King of England thought the same...thing.."

"But war, in a good cause, is not the greatest evil which a nation can suffer. War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. When a people are used as mere human instruments for firing cannon or thrusting bayonets, in the service and for the selfish purposes of a master, such war degrades a people. A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice – a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their free choice – is often the means of their regeneration. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other." - John Stuart Mill
