I was just bewildered at the BS political rhetoric that spewed from Sarah Plain’s mouth. I would have appreciated her answering the questions put toward her from the moderator. Her rehearsed and memorized answers where in left field compared to Biden’s answers. Palin clearly double talks when she cannot answer the question, this tells me that she lacks experience and doesn’t have the fortitude to form her own opinions but those that have been repeated to her by McCain. Does the GOP ticket believe she is that inexperience that her answers need to be drilled-in-her-memory, to ensure against blunders?

Unfortunately, I just don’t get it with Palin, she lacks experience and articulation and the folksy with the repetitive rhetorical sound bites was boring but clearly displayed her lack of ability to hold office as VP. McCain and Palin need to understand “Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate." Rather than speak from a position of power, Palin deflated her own sense of credibility, by allowing McCain to be the ventriloquist in the VP debate and her, the dummy.

Both did well and if you listened to the commentators afterwards, both were said that at some point didn't answer questions. But, Palin is guilty of doing it more often. Overall, I think the debate was great for both of them. For myself, the fence sitter, both of them answered some key points for me. I'm still not off it yet, but am leaning more in one direction. I'm waiting to see the Presidential 2 and 3rd debates.
Also, I think the commentator did a wonderful unbiased job. Kudos to her.

Palin only "survived" with out a spoof. Easy to do that when you don't have any questions that's been asked of you out of the normal

My issues with Palin last night were these 3 things:

1) Avoided Questions:

If elected (God forbid) and the people wants to know what's going on....will she avoid that? Not good to avoid questions at a place where you HAVE to know the answers.

2) No Seperation From Bush:

Biden left the door wide open for her to explain CLEARY what will her ticket do differently than the Bush administration. She didn't (couldn't) answer it.

3) No Clear Cut Deatails:

As usual, Palin just said things like "We are Mavericks and we are going to make changes." Ms. Palin....uh.....what changes in particular!?!?!?!?!? That's what we are looking for. All the talking points are cute but with no details...you are just repeating the same things!

Red-Dog1....if that's your definition of "mopping the floor with Joe"...then your expectations of her were lower than the rest of the political world.

I agree with you, she does not articulate well at all. And no she did not mop the floor with Joe. and that is Senator Biden to you!! Everyboby has their opinion about the debate and the most I have heard is she did not answer the questions given to her by Gwen. She it a couple of points but for the most part she failed this debate. Thats just my 2 cents!!

Well, I watched the debates and yelled at Sarah Palin 18 times for mispronouncing the word "nuclear" at LEAST 18 times. Only idiots cannot pronounce that word...there is only one "U" in "nuclear." Also, every time the moderator asked a question Palin could not answer, she said, "I'm not finished with my answer to the last question....blah blah"....and the moderator never went back and said, "Excuse me...please answer the question just asked." She could NOT answer the question and just averted having to do so by pretending she had more to say on a previous question that she NEVER directly answered EITHER. She was on a BS session..and, while the moderator was non-partisan, she got off easy. Biden clearly won the debate...he remained cool, polite, articulate and responsive to the issues. He, also, as a previous commenter just said, held McCains heels to the Bush flame. He, clearly, did a great job.

Sara Palin pointed out that Joe Biden supported John McCains policy for the end of the war in Iraq until the day he was picked by Obama to be VP. All Joe could do was smile with that great big chesire cat grin of his.

Sara Palin also pointed out the fact that Joe Biden was an adament voice against Obama, last year saying Barack Obama has no experiance or proven record which would make him even a good candidate let alone president.

Sara Palin also asked Joe if he could explain Obamas plan for Iraq and all Joe said the plan has been laid out before and he didn't have the time to go over the details. Why Joe how hard is it to say as Obama has many times...
" I will bring our troops home within six months..." and then what???

Of course I must have watched a different debate!!!

I agree 100 percent; Palin did not answer the questions. It did seem as though she had memorized answers but not the answers to the questions that were presented to her. I think winking of the eye and the fake cracker-barrel demeanor was rather ridiculous. Our country is in a perilous time regarding the economy and terrorist and Palin is comfortable with folksiness in a supposed to be serious debate. I also just don’t get Palin and still view her as a gimmick. I certainly do not agree with her ideology that forces a woman or girl to keep a baby by a man that has raped her or a result of incest. I wonder how Palin would feel if she was ganged rape by six men and became pregnant; would she keep the baby. I think not! Also McCain and Palin just now have started to mention middle-class when Obama and Biden have been talking about how the middle-class is suffering due to the high taxes and the tax breaks the very wealthy are receiving like McCain. Palin needs to work on her diction.

wifemom:

Did anybody think she would answer a question with a straight forward answer. I watched her on the T.V. and also on y laptop on a live stream where as, I could stop and replay a segment if I weren't sure of what I heard or saw. Most of the time Biden was talking, she was briefing the notes she had on the podium.

Today I saw a Sarah Palin Flow Chart....it was funny...lots of "McCain is a maverick; hocky mom, You betcha!, nook yoo ler" (for nuclear)...and that's pretty much what she said over and over...the nook yoo ler was spoken 18 times when I began to scream the correct pronounciation at the television screen. I cannot imagine 4 years of that....I think all hearing impaired people will turn their hearing aids off and all hearing people will wish they were hearing impaired.

Now that Sarah Palin has demonstrated her ineptitude and jumped the bar of low expectations, can we now listen to the real issues and not the fabricated show? This company has real problems that can not be addressed by winks, "down home" floksy attitudes or lies. We need to look at potential leaders who will solve the problems, not make them ludicrous talking points. Let her fade into the background where she belongs.
