Last week's "cast -off" show (for lack of a better word) was a prime example as to why those who lose should NOT be made to sing after they're told they will be leaving. One of the female contestants who left, I think her name is Leslie, was so devastated that she could hardly sing and broke out in tears. I think it's humiliating to the contestant and mean of the show to require them to sing at that point. And not only that, they're asked to sing a song that on most occasions has been panned by the judges..I just find it cruel and unusual punishment.

A part of being an entertainer is being able to perform even when things don't go your way...all it showed was that america was right in voting her off...cruel and unusal punishment i think not...

In the cutthroat business of entertainment, you have to be strong. If she wanted to give up her dream forever, then cry. But, if she wanted to keep her dream alive, then show us that you are a trooper and sing like you never sang before. She showed us that she was not up for the task. She needed to go home and THINK NOT of anything that requires competition.

I've participated in many dance and talent competition in my younger days. I always remembered my grandmother wise advice, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." Enough said.

After reading your responses, they all make sense. And I guess I was looking at it from how I would respond, which would probably be like the girl who broke down..So, guess this means I won't be auditioning for any talent contest anytime soon. But, then again, I have no talent to enter a contest anyway :)
