I want to welcome you as a new American citizen!  One hint-If you plan to travel outside the USA, be very sure to carry a XEROX copy of your naturalization papers with you at all times.  The INS can be very sticky about processing entry permits for naturalized citizens.

Also. many government officials consider your US passport or naturalization papers as proof of citizenship.  For example, when I applied for property tax exemption, I had to show my birth certificate and driving permit to show my proof of citizenship.

Since the Social Security Card canot be used as a National Identty Card, the bureaucrats who see a terorist between every tree, require a current passport or birth certificate as proof of national origin.
