If this report is true, then my only reactions are that the police officers are collectively and individually lower than the belly of a snake! If they needed money to buy Christmas presents, they could do wnat I did one Christmas when money was tight. They could request time off to work as security guards for the shopping malls
When I went to work for a major retail chain, I was so successful in chasing down the shoplifters and other crooks, that the store manager asked me to stay on while the other seasonal workers were let go on January 1. This turned into a two-year job that resulted in a promotion to department manager. At the time, I was able to work two 40-hour jobs, one at my government office, and at the store in the evenings. If the firm had not gone bankrupt, I could have returned to the store as a post-retirement job.
There is simply NO EXCUSE for stealing Christmas toys, most for needy children whose parent(s) earn less money than do the police officers with the sticky fingers.
