Is this really an issue in Sports, if so do you think the problem is widespread as I had no idea that we as people have come this far that we have let gangs into all we do.  Tell me what you think, here is the link to this story

I think the only sports that it is a widespread problem is basketball and football (maybe baseball to a much lesser extent).

capsnumber1:

I am going to guess that you are a caps fan, not that this is a problem, but do you think this should be a part of sports as I am under the impression that sports is a game, not a battle field sort of speak. If this is indeed a problem in the sports arena, should fans be worried that if a person gets tackled or a foul thrown, would guns come into play from the players because of gang affiliation? Just a question as I am appalled that our sports figure who make way too much money would resort to this type of behavior as it is turning me off to the games. I want to enjoy the games, not have to worry about getting shot as an innocent bystander in the stadium, it may be a stretch but it is a possibility, don't you think?

Absolutely it is a possibility. I would be most concerned about rival gang members in the audience looking to take action against the athlete, rather than fellow players.

I am not suprised at all at this story, both the NFL and NBA are full of thugs.

I have no interest in the NBA because of this, and I only watch Redskins games on TV (mostly because I don't want to give a penny of my money to Danny Boy).

I think the major sport that is the cleanest in terms of not having any gang members is hockey, followed by baseball.

Sadly to say I am afraid that your thoughts may be correct in your statement "I am not suprised at all at this story, both the NFL and NBA are full of thugs."

This is becoming quite an issue and it is really turning me off to sports as a whole, as it makes one wonder if this crap is rigged in terms of referees who may belong to gangs, athletes who are gang affiliated, and so on and you are also correct in I do not hear of any of this crap going on in hockey, wow, I hope that is one sport that stays clean and sober
