A show of emotion Monday from a woman who's been criticized for rarely showing any.   Hillary Clinton had misty eyes as she talked with New Hampshire voters about her campaign.   Things are getting extra stressful as polls show Senator Clinton losing ground on the eve of the nation's first primary.

In an 11th hour pitch for support, a voter asked Senator Clinton how she does it ... keeping up with the grueling campaign schedule.   Clinton said, "It's not easy....   and I couldn't do it if I just didn't, you know, passionately believe it was the right thing to do....it's about our country, it's about our kids' futures... it's really about all of us together"  That was when her voice cracked... and it  was apparent we were seeing the "softer side" of Hillary.

So...today...  as we here at Fox 5 gathered for our afternoon news meeting, many of us had something to say about this.  We debated whether this was simply an unusual show of genuine emotion..   something that could help Hillary Clinton in the polls-- maybe even help voters see the more "human" side of the candidate???  OR....  could this be perceived as a "weakness"?  Will critics clamp onto the fact that she "cried" and tie it to her being a woman .... then jump to wonder if it's indicative of how she would handle herself under fire in the White House.

We invite you to share your opinion with us. What do you think?  Does her display of emotion make you think differently of her?

If we perceive her moment of teary eyes as a "weakness," then we must also think Bush a weak person. He's also cried and he's the Commander in Chief. I think it actually makes her look more favorable as a human.

It's ridiculous. I always thought of her as a dirt bag... and still do... but now she's an emotional dirt bag, so yes... I do feel differently.

Honestly... it's ridiculous... absolutely ridiculous. A good leader leads by logic not emotion. Emotion clouds decision making. Crying is just ridiculous. Either grow a sack or get out of the race.

Didn't Muskee cry in NH? Look what happened to him!

Maybe NH should be called the "Onion State".

NY handed her a senate position on a platter. subconsciously she has known she is a girl from illinois who married a talented man. this essence of who she is now comes to the surface. she knows she is not good enough for the postiion of president. chelsea might be presidential material!

ONE TEAR now

means she's NOT qualified for President.

No guts.

Inability to stay focused.

ONE race means nothing.
Early states mean nothing.

I like to see her melting down though.

...simply tears of anger that things are going tougher than SHE PLANNED ...Obama’s captured the model of the candidate she saw herself as in the early going (which doesn't make him any thing great in my book) and she's paying the piper now for her past deceit ...I wonder how the infamous "cemell" from '07' is faring in the love affair she had with Hillary’s candidacy ???

If she gets stressed and cries now....what will she do in a real crisis?

There's different reasons for crying.

For example, crying because people died in the World Trade Center is much different than crying because you're tired and you want to go to sleep.

Crying because you're tired and want to go beddy-bye doesn't demonstrate leadership and it certainly doesn't show you have the stamina to be a leader.

Crying is a natural emotion, done whenever the person feels the need. I certainly don't think crying for any reason makes or breaks a leader. Personally, I think there have been current and past tears from our leaders that were just shows of emotion to get people riled up. As far as any of these candidates go, I think their all a sorry bunch and I'm sick that this is what our country has determined for us to choose from as leaders.

I think the question was a "plant" and her response was rehearsed. This is yet another example of why we cannot trust her.

My guess, which is obviously borne out by the other comments here, was that people who already despised Hillary would have nothing but knee-jerk negative comments, while those who like her would jump to her defense. Gee, as if you really need a magic 8-ball to figure that one out!

Where you DO need a magic 8-ball is when you try to second-guess what Hillary's glimpse of emotion proves -- or DOESN'T prove -- about her character or capabilities. Oh, but we all dearly love to play Dr. Phil don't we!

So, in my opinion it's not that these near- tears reveal anything one way or the other about Hillary -- but they sure reveal plenty about the people commenting on them.

Not that it matters. Any of the top three Dems -- including Handkerchief Hillary herself -- can and will whup whichever palooka the GOP puts in the ring this year. And some of those crowing loudest now will be wailing the loudest in November.
