Let me extend my heartfelt congratulations to Allison Seymour, who has been named co-anchor of Fox Five Morning News from 7 to 9 a.m.   Allison brings so much to the broadcast, including her knowledge of  Washington;  her intellectual curiosity;  her warmth and humor;  her ability to connect.   She is a natural when it comes to broadcasting.   Ever since Allison arrived at Fox Five in 1999,  viewers I meet consistently ask me about Allison, extending their best wishes and asking whether she really is that nice.   She is that nice, and more.  And I must confess,  it was always a good day if a viewer confused me for Allison and asked about the girls.   Allison's three girls are fine because they have such a fabulous mom.   Allison reminded me today of a present I gave her when she got married.  A book by a friend of mine called, Too Blessed to Be Stressed.  It is a blessing in my life to be able to say, I worked with the very talented Allison Seymour.

I was thrilled when I heard this news this morning. If you have to go, I am so glad that she will be the one sitting in your chair. This means that all of the laughs will continue!

I too echo the comment of the other bloggers...I wake up to Fox Morning News each weekday morning and although it slows me from getting dress I enjoy it greatly. While informative, it's refreshing. Lark, I'll definitely miss you and the "stability" that you bring to that team. A lovely, witty lady..all the best to you. I enjoy Allison as well and I have no doubt that she'll do a fine job in her role as co-anchor.

Lark, I will truly miss you. You have such a great personality and can be serious when it is time to be. Your laugh is addictive. I watch you every day. I hope that Tom guy is not your reason for leaving...lol. However, I am happy that Allison will be taking your place, no one else could. Take care of your self and all the best to you. God Bless.

Dear Ms. McCarthy, It was great to see a veteran on Fox 5 DC, and I am truly saddened to see you leave. I was puzzled as to why Ms. Seymour was removed from the 5-7 a.m. anchor position, but now realized God is the reason for everything. Many blessings to you and your family, you will be missed.

Well! What a somber Friday morning this has turned out to be for me. I was shocked to learn that Lark McCarthy was leaving, with her "Best Week Ever" sign waving across the screen. Lol What a way to find out one of the bright lights of my weekday morning routine was being extinguished.

I have been watching Lark and the gang since the early '90's. I've seen many come and go throughout the years but no departure has had quite the impact as Lark's departure. I will truly miss Lark and her professional, calming and joyous demeanor as an anchor. If you must go Lark, congrats and best wishes to you and your family.

Allison is the greatest possible choice as a replacement in my opinion. You got it right Mr. GM! Lark will be missed but Allison can adequately fill her shoes.

I love Fox 5 DC in the morning!

Lark,

I've watched you since the very first broadcast of Fox Morning News back in 1990. I was 11 years old then and getting ready to walk to school. You always kept my sister and I awake and on-time for class. I will be 28 years old this year. How time flies! That is how long you have been a part of my mornings.

I kind of feel like I am losing a member of my family (just like when Tony Perkins left before). I just saw this morning during the Idol coverage that you were leaving. My wife and I didn't even know about it.

Anyway, although we don't know each other, I wish you and your family the best and continued success. You have been a staple in this area and always have a home in the hearts and minds of Washingtonians. Thank you for helping us start our mornings for 17 years! God Bless!

MAY GOD BLESS YOU LARK!!!!

I'm sad to see you go, but I wish you the best in Vegas! I have been watching you since I was a teenager and will be turning 30 this year! So you have definitely been apart of my mornings for a long time. I will miss your wonderful spirit and great professionalism that you displayed on a daily basis. You don't even have to say you are a Christian because I could just tell. You have touched the lives of many.

Allison I'm so grateful that you will be sitting in Lark's seat I don't think they could have choosen a better anchor woman! I wish you much success :)) May God bless you!

Hi Lark,

You will be missed. I saw the morning show when Allison displayed the many hairstyles your wore. What a Beautiful lady that Lark is (smile). No matter what style you wear, you display high class. Best of Luck to you and your family in Vegas. You are a Jewel.

I've anchored Fox Five Morning News since June 1990 and it's a privilege to try to bring you stories relevant to your lives. Every day is a new challenge, and my previous jobs were great preparation: White House correspondent for ABC News; an anchor and reporter for CBS News; an anchor and reporter for WJLA-TV; and a reporter for WPLG-TV in Miami. I have a wonderful husband and daughter, and lovable though undertrained dog.
