I agree Gore is somewhat hypocritical, but he has brought the needed attention that was needed to make people aware of just how bad off our planet is.

...imagine if "big Al" can qualify for and recieve the Nobel than it's an award open to the scholarly and distinguished and those without much of that on the ball ...so pretty much everybody including the departed champion of terrorist misdeeds, Yssar Arafat, is a candidate ...let's rename the Nobel "the mark of the jerk"...

GooberPug!!! Actually we are NOT bad off. Earth is constantly changing. We are still emerging from the mini-ice age and will get a little warmer before it starts getting cooler and then cold again. Greenland used to be green!

Don't get fooled by in-informed pop-science. Both Mars and Venus are warming at the same slight amount. THE SUN is drive this, and nothing we do here on earth will have any effect.
