I know that I posted this list before but I figured today would be the day to post it again. Especially with so many new bloggers. No matter how you feel about the war, our soldiers are still there and still need our support. Here are ways to help..

Its important that we take the time to remember our soldiers. Those still fighting, those injured, and those who have lost their lives not just on this important day, but every day. A wonderful woman at my job put this terrific list of ways we can help them together. I wanted to pass it on. Hopefully you all will do the same to your friends and families.

Treat any soldier.... A way to send care packages. Whats great about this is they already have the care packages together. You just have to pick which one to send. You can send it to a specific soldier or to any soldier.  They range in price from $11.95 to $139.95

This one is AWSOME!!! Its a totally free way to send soldiers some smiles!  You pick a thank you card (designed by kids!) And put a message on it and they send them to the soldiers. I think this is a fantastic way to get kids involved in saying thank you to the soldiers. My kids LOVE it. We sit at the computer every night and they each get to send 2 before they go to bed. Makes them feel good knowing that they are helping.

Thanks for the list. I love the last on with the cards. I know that the cards are putting smiles on the troops face, and you can send as many as you want. A wonderful idea

Kelly 00,

My personal request from the soldiers over there is for "White Socks". No one thinks about white socks and so they are in great shortage.

Your list is wonderful, thank you!

Before you support any organization that donates to the benefit of our deployed military, review the fine print from the information provided by them, especially when cash donations are excepted. For example, it is a strong possibility that if you address letters to "any soldier", they will be returned, as the military mail system is overloaded and backlogged by mail not specifically addressed to an individual soldier or unit. Red Cross contributes less than 40 % of given donations for the troops. the 60% goes for admin and promotional information distribution,(pamphlets, tv ads, marketing, etc.). As for the white tube socks, since most deployed soldiers aren't allowed civilian clothing, what purpose, would they serve? (besides keeping feet warm, or giving them to the natives), as military regs don't allow them for general wear. Yes, I was a soldier, and these are some of the problems I experienced when I was deployed. In short, think before you act,as your gift(s) or donations may never get to the right people if you don't.
