1982, 1987 and 1991.  If you ask any Redskins fan the significance of those years, they will without even thinking twice say, "the years we won the Super Bowl".

Well, I'm writing to the world of FOX Bloggers and my fellow Redskins family to publicly say, I believe Coach Jim Zorn(JZ is what we were calling him today at Redskins Park) could possibly make us put all of those Gibbs memories in storage for a while.  I think Coach JZ is on the verge of greatness as a head coach.  I believe we are witnessing  history in the making.  All of the pieces are slowly coming together for him and he could see a success similar to Jacksonville's Jack Del Rio or San Diego's Norv Turner last year, in just his first year.  Now some may say, KoKo you're luncheon.  You're a Skinz fan.  Of course you're gonna think that.  My response:  Being biased is great, try it sometime!

I like everything about Coach Zorn from how "unconventional" his methods are considered to how he appears to answer questions by the media from the heart without using the "jedi-mind tricks" Gibbs would use on reporters.  I like how he deals with the players, as far as treating them like men.  It will be interesting to see how he deals with "potential"  player problems and Clinton Portis antics. The one question I would have is whether or not he can drop the "hammer of reprimanding" when necessary?  He seems like a nice guy but can he turn into the HULK when necessary to demand perfection or are we dealing with a Bruce Banner all the time?

All and all, I think Coach Zorn will have a huge impact on Redskins history, so buckle up and enjoy the ride.  Also, be prepared to celebrate winning a few trophies along the way.  We may have finally found someone else to praise as a headcoach besides our beloved and immortal Coach Joe Gibbs.

Today, I was at Redskins Park with my son, my sister, my nephews and best friend.  It was hot as h*ll but if you're a die-hard Skins fan, the temperature didn't matter.  Only the "maroon and yellow". hahaha.  Sorry, I had to.  That was my first time ever at Redskins Park and it went from being "exciting" to "depressing"(because of Phillip Daniel's injury) to now being "aggressively optimistic" .  Honestly, I feel almost "Smoot-like" as far as  trash talking because of the recent signing of Jason Taylor.

People please give Daniel Synder and Vinny Cerrato their props for making this move.  I've always been pro-Dan, maybe not pro-Vinny but definitely pro-Dan.  I never understood how an owner can get so much criticism by providing a head coach whatever he tells the owner he needs to win.  Besides, am I the only fan that wants to see what this man will do with a Super Bowl trophy in his hand?  He is doing all he can to make that a reality.  I loved how the Skinz operated in the Draft this year.  When was the last time we had 10 picks in a draft?  It's so obvious they both learned so much when Joe Gibbs was here.  I admit I was a little worried about us selecting a punter but I won't judge.  I just felt we could've bolstered our defensive line depth by drafting a defensive end or tackle, instead of a punter.  But I won't criticize.  I mean the punter we got was the winner of the Ray Guy Award.  Plus, I'm thinking this will be a year of touchdowns and interceptions, with barely no punting.  Yep, we're either gonna put up 56 points on you or Jason Campbell will throw 56 INTs.  It's that simple. I'm kidding.

SIDENOTE: I know everybody loves Devin Thomas.  I had to hear a thousand times how cute my sister thought he was.  It drove me crazy.  However, to my people who know football, be on the look out for Malcolm Kelly.  This dude is the real deal.  You heard it here first.

Anyway, Dan and Vinny thanks for snatching up Jason Taylor from the Dolphins.  You went out and got arguably one of the best defensive linemen playing today.  More importantly, thanks for not giving up our entire 2009 draft picks doing so.  I think this proves they both are learning how to build a winning organization.  In the past, I would've had them both offering our 2009 and 2010 first rounders and LaRon Landry for Jason.  My, my, my how things have changed.   We're on our way yaw'll.

Hail To The Redskins.  11-5 at the least now.

ps- I also expect Andre Carter to go to the Pro Bowl this year simply because of the double teams Jason Taylor will command...what do you think?

So you're the General Manager of a brand new expansion NFL football team.  You have a meeting with the Owner, your head coach and his offensive and defensive coordinators.  You believe the first draft pick you select will be the cornerstone of your organization for years to come.  What position do you draft for, when you're on the clock?

Also, in this situation is it better to draft offense, defense or most talented player on the  draft board?

I must admit my knowledge and passion for basketball is nowhere near football but I'm interested in what sport-fans think when it comes to MJ and Kobe.  In my opinion Kobe is slowly starting to narrow the gap between he and Jordan.

Jordan in my eyez is the best player to ever play the game.  He's had the biggest impact on the game.  I don't believe there will ever be anyone who will have the same kind of impact.  I know some say Wilt was the best since he gave'um 100pts one time. Some may even feel Magic since he was talented enough to play all 5 positions.  I've been watching Kobe for a minute now and this dude seems to be taking Jordan's all around game to a new level.

Do you think Kobe will eventually be the best basketball player to ever play the game?

I gotta ask my fellow Skinz fans this one question.  Isn't it refreshing to hear absolutely NOTHING from our beloved "maroon and black" and the newly crowned, Z-Man?  Could it be after years of spiking the kool-aid and serving it to us in dirty shot glasses that Mr. Synder and his sidekick, Vinny KnowNot have finally learned that the best way to enjoy kool-aid is to leave it be?  Unreal.  These are truly exciting times.

Seems like it's been years since we've had multiple draft picks on the first day of the draft.  I may actually have to fall back on my cervaza(beer) intake to see what our newly crowned king/coach will actually do with his "precious" draft choices.  I hope he understands that his draft decisions on April 26th and 27th will forever follow him.  I wonder if he feels any pressure yet.  Don't worry.  I do.

I have to say that I am already impressed that we have not made the "predictable splash" we normally would've made around this time of year.  I just knew Randy Moss or Chad Johnson would be standing behind our 3 Super Bowl trophies stating how they were looking forward to joining a class-act organization, while giving the fans what they want.  I thought for sure Alan Faneca would praise Disco Danny for diggin deep, when the Steelers wouldn't.  I even thought we'd sneak one under the radar and steal Justin Smith from Cincy and give him Dexter's old jersey number for good luck.  What?  Silence.  How refreshing it is.

I'm ashamed to say it but I even thought, wow! Even gas prices are affecting Mr. Synder's usage of the Redskins One jet.  Remember when 87 was like $1.13 a gallon?

However, as coveted free agents slowly started to disappear off the radar, it finally dawned on me.  Our owner might actually be learning how to properly build a football team.  All those intimate conversations with Coach Gibbs about God, checkered flags, Jerry Jones and 40 gut have finally paid off.  Maybe.  Time will tell but still...

How refreshing it is to hear absolutely NOTHING...

Before I begin this blog, I want to thank Our Heavenly Father for Clinton Portis, not separating his shoulder after scoring, with the acrobatics.  Thank you for making the Philly turf softer than normal, as he landed like an idiot.  Hopefully, he's been reprimanded by his coaches.  Amen.

Hi Clinton,

It's me, KoKo Bagginz.  A simple, die-hard fan of the team you play for.  I wish there was a way you could tell me the significance of choosing to display your gymnastics after scoring a touchdown?  I mean, you have been in the end zone before, right?  Not to mention that you could've re-injured your shoulder again doing that.  What the hell was that all about?

I think you've handled yourself really well(for you) when being interviewed.  Not only do you sound focused but you also sound like you gotta chip on your shoulder when addressing the media.  That's cool, I like chips on shoulders.  They bring out the hunger in people to achieve.  But here are two things you may wanna keep in mind:

1.  You're doing what you're suppose to do as a running back.  When you address the media, you sound real salty, like you're putting up these LT like stats and the media, the fans, the coaches, Brian Mitchell and all of your critics will owe you an apology or eat crow at the end of the year.  We don't owe you nothing.  If anything, you owe us...so PRODUCE.

2.  You flip in the endzone?  Suppose your shoulder got separated because you landed wrong, then what?  Would Danny get a chance to put a hold on the gi-normous check he wrote ya?  Of course not.  Play ball man.  You can do your little Dirty South dances, if you're that happy about scoring but play ball. Leave all that flippin BLEEP to the U.S. Gym Team.  If you really got something to prove, then prove it by your actions on the field.  My little son, who plays pound ball asked me, "Daddy, why did he do that?" What should I tell him, Clinton?

I would never question your heart on the field.  The runs, the blocks, the tackle you made just shows us how much of a beast you really are.  However, it urkes me that most people think the Broncos got the better of the deal, when we traded Champ for you.  In my opinion, that shouldn't even be close.  A cornerback, for a running back?  Please.  I'll take a beast running back over the best shutdown corner, anyday.  But thanks to some of the comments you've made, the antics, and the injuries, Broncos fans are clowning us.  Play ball man.

It always amazes me how fans of other teams, as well as fans of my beloved Skinz feel the need to speak negatively about the fans who are already mentioning that the Skinz are going to the Super Bowl.  Yes, it was one game.  Yes, we do have issues to address.  Yes, we will miss Jon Jansen.  Yes, Joe Gibbs is lying about Shawn Springs.  But what the hell is wrong with showing a little optimism?  Do the fans in Dallas think less of their team?  What about Philly?  Isn't that the goal?  If it's anything less than a Super Bowl, what's the point?

Now before you start throwing shots at me, understand that I am capable of displaying "rational" thinking when it comes to my Skinz.  But today, I don't want to.  We are 1-0.  Our defense is back.  We have a MONSTER middle linebacker who is involved in every tackle, as much as Ray Lewis.  We finally have a quarterback who has conquered the art of showing composure.   Clinton and Ladell are just getting started.   Why shouldn't I think Super Bowl?

Speaking of points, here's mine....

Drink the kool-aid.  Sip the kool-aid.  Enjoy the kool-aid people.  As the year continues, the kool-aid might began to lose the fantastic taste it currently has.  Enjoy it while it's still sweet.  And if we are lucky enough to enjoy the kool-aid in February. Call a cab.

It means  WE ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS again.

Ok.  So it would appear that I owe the Colts an apology.  I actually thought that with the people they lost from free agency and injuries, they couldn't be the same team as last year.  Boy, was wrong...

After watching the first NFL game of the 2007 season, it quickly occured to me that I made a terrible mistake in underestimating the Colts(particularly their defense) this year.  When the Patriots first signed Adalius Thomas, Donte Stallworth and Randy Moss, I was ready to give them all the spoils that came with winning the Super Bowl this year, like most people.  However, while watching the game  last night, it dawned on me that the road goes through Indianapolis.  They are the champions.  It's that simple.  Until someone de-thrones them, the road goes through them.

Now if there is any team out there that can de-throne them, I believe its gotta be Brady and the boys of NE.  But the Patriots have to snatch the crown back from the champs to make me a believer.  You cannot think they get the crown automatically because they signed a few good players. You would think being a die-hard Skinz fan, I would've learned this by now.    Because right now, the Colts look like they haven't missed a beat.

I wish you nothing but the best this season.  I can't even tell you how hard I'm pulling for you.  I even drafted you in my fantasy league.  It will clearly take the running of you and Ladell to get us where we need to be.  However, I think you should take the Sean Taylor approach and limit your interviews to zero.  My man just goes out and plays.  Sure you give the media a chuckle from time to time.  But the question is, are they laughing at you or with you?  Personally, I think you make our race look bad when you open your mouth to the media, but that's another story.

You are clearly a person who doesn't think before you speak(Vick quotes) and that is why you are currently feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders.  All I keep hearing is "it's put up or shut up for Portis".  I read the article Mike Wise wrote in the Post about you and once again the quotes he got were vintage Clinton.  Me, Myself and I.  Me Against the World.  It sounded like Beyonce was doing a song with Tupac.  That's all I heard from you.  Play ball man.  You are from the U.  You're a baller.  Play ball.  Football is a team sport and it will continue to be when you retire.

You're a talented dude, who's mouth is currently bigger than your heart.  Knuckle up, strap up the chin and go show these dudes why you are still an elite NFL running back.  You should be insulted that the so called, "experts" are talking like you're over the hill at the age of 26.  Save all that whining for T.O. and the little ones of the world.

You're fan,

KoKo Bagginz

First of all, I wanna wish Lavar Arrington a very speedy recovery.  I'm glad he's doing ok.  He is one of my favorite Redskins player of all time and there was no one "realer" on the field to me.   This is not a shot at him, so don't go there.  His unfortunate accident just got me thinking a little bit about the Winslows and Roethlisbergers of the world.

I have beef with athletes(particularly football players) who want to go out during the offseason and do wild and crazy things like ride 100 mph on motorcycles and sportscars, bungee jumping, skydiving, scuba dive with sharks and anything else that can cause a quick unscheduled meeting with your Maker.

I believe if you're under contract, there should be two options.  Either you are banned from doing crazy things like these and it's written in your contract or if you become injured doing these things, you should be forced to give back a large percentage of your salary because you have put the team behind the eight ball as far as having to fill the void you've left.

I'm sure they'll be some who disagree with me but the fact is, it's hard enough dealing with unforeseen circumstances on a daily basis.  Not to mention that football players have a greater chance of getting hurt anyway, doing their jobs.  Why put yourself in a situation where you can't be there for your team because you wanted to experience, "100% pure adrenaline"?

Holla back people.  Educate KoKo.

I am really trying to be patient like the rest of you, who have a love for the Redskins and the NFL.  However, It's getting hard.  My nerves are getting bad yaw'll.

This is the period I hate because as much as I enjoy the summer weather, there is nothing like the anticipation of Sunday afternoons and Monday nights during the Fall.  Watching double-headers while eating something that will probably kill me down the road.  Making sure my favorite Redskins jersey is washed and ready to be worn.  Stealing my sons Nintendo DS to play a quick game or two to relax my nerves before the madness begins. Furiously checking my fantasy sheets and pool sheets like I'm using my mortgage money to bet.  Showing my mastery of universal and cable remote controls to watch ALL the pregame shows.   Looking for that silent killer who wears #21 to make sure he's properly stretching and disobeying the dress code.  Wondering if Campbell will have enough time to get that ball down the field to a streaking Moss or Lloyd while Roy Williams says in his mind, "oh no. Not again".  This is my life on Sundays people.  Earned it, I have(sample by Yoda).

Please don't ask me if I'm ready for football.  Just blow the whistle and kick the ball off.

I was born ready.  Play ball....
