So, I'm in my house sitting here on my computer and I hear reality television episodes on all throughout the house.  My daughter loves it. My son loves it.  Even the wife likes this garbage.  Not my soulmate.  NOOOOOOO!   Unbelievable.  She says the news depresses her, so I ask, "you mean to tell me you'd rather watch Puffy put a bunch of dudes together to form a boy group or watch Simon crush a persons dream to sing?"  Are you serious?  How can you be depressed when Allison and Allyson are giving you late breaking news?  They look at me like I'm the one with the problem.  Is it me?

Am I the only person on the planet who would prefer real actors and actresses, whether comedy, action or drama, instead of viewing supa close-up shots of boring people who can't sing, who look like they haven't showered in months, are just waking up regretting what they did, who can't act, party in a 4 person jacuzzi with 12 people, get drunk off coke and grenedine and have absolutely no life what-so-ever?

I watched Babel on ON DEMAND the other day, and the wife and my babysista were looking at me like I was running a fever because I was into it.  Blackdudes don't watch movies like Babel?  What are yaw'll saying?  I guess because Rev Run and his fam weren't on there or Tyra wasn't teaching little girls how to work the runway, they weren't feeling it.  So, this is what it's come to, huh?

Reality TV-21 pts,

KoKo-0  pts.

Boy oh Boy...come on NFL....Daddy needs his sanity back.

Everything has it's place in our society and there are people in every camp that enjoy what they like and there are others who don't

It doesn't bother me that you liked Babel and I thought it was crap.

If people are drawn to and like something it has merit and standing and may not be your cup of tea, but what you're into might not be theirs, so why not just let it be.

I watch what I want and people who want to judge be damned, it doesn't effect me. You might want to try that.

BARNZsongwriter: You are absolutely correct. Life is about choices, and we have many. Choose what works best for you.

BARNZsongwriter & msacs9,

I agree with you both. Please don't put any stock into what I was saying. I'm not really narrow-minded and judgemental like my blog my have indicated. I was just venting because the fam had reality shows on 3 televisions in my home. Believe me, I understand how life is about choices. And thank God for those choices we have. Even the wack ones.

BARNZ, two things though...first, I never said I liked Babel(you may wanna re-read my blog). I said, I was into it. Secondly, you're preaching to the choir, playboy but thanks for the feedback.

hahahahahah. Boy O boy. I feel like having church up in here. Talking about watching T.V. and the shows that are horrible on T.V. The presidential debate and election is the worst I've ever seen. Clinton(Female,Soft), Obama(So they say came from an Orphin...)McCain is full of s$@t, and don't let me talk about how Bush is trying clear his name. I've just had about enough with T.V. I like to watch channet 37(History), definitely fox 5, discovery channel, Spritual channels(Jesus Stories), HDTV, Cooking shows, and no garbage. I feel sorry for the kids who's parents let them watch filth!

I don't watch them fake reality shows because they are all acting, getting paid to make money.

They got this blach carton show on and I like to run out in the street. I wish I would give it some time because if I do that means nothing is in my mind...............lol(Some big head little body please....Let me vent! hahaheeheheh.........Much Luv!

If you're "into" something I take that to mean you liked it on come level. If I'm "into" the young lady at the end of the bar with the dress that is painted on, I like that, like it alot. Okay the Playboy comment went to my head, but I'm over it.

Reality TV has lost it's edge and is more scripted than ever before, but there are some shows that aren't, they are few and far between.

Suggestion: Get rid of at least two TVs and keep one and film what happens. That is a reality show I'd watch.

Sorry to break into your blog, but I agree with you...Reality T.V. Stinks the big one.. I don't know what that meant, but it sounded cool! With all the out of work talent out there, those producers took the easy way out by promoting REALITY T.V.!! It's a lot cheaper to produce, not to mention dehumanizing and shows people at their worse! Idol sorta grew on me, but I can do without the ridicule and embarrassment. Show business is tough enough, you don't need all the put downs by Simon! In spite of him there have been some great talent that came out of that show. If you're curious, click on my face and check out my blogs on the subject.

Kokobagginz,
I enjoyed your blog; your sense of humor really comes through!

Must agree with you, I don't like reality television either. Most of the people belong in a therapist's office, not on the TV set teaching the wrong way to behave...

Perhaps we're becoming a nation of voyeurs. We don't have much going on in our own lives, so we live vicariously through ...others... lives,... viewed on the TV set.

My suggestion; get YOUR FAMILY out of the house...away from the TV set!!! Get a wonderful tent and go camping, or fishing, or hiking nature trails, and bring your camera! And the NFL? Go out to the stadium...

People are becoming TV and computer addicts who don't outside and play anymore.

It's soooo important to REFRESH and RENEW the mind, each day!

Thanks roneill. I appreciate the feedback. I definitely agree with your view on our nation becoming a "nation of voyeurs". I also think reality television encourages us to be "nosey" as a society. But I also understand it's a popular type of television that society seems to enjoy embracing. It's just not for me.

I definitely try regularly to get my family out of the house and my son's time on playstation is monitored. I remember a time where kids were told to just go out and play. The kids of today have no excuse to leave there room except if they have to use the bathroom and I hear some are having parents install urinals in there rooms. hahaha. Unreal.

BigBadbob, your feedback and views are also appreciated. I thought I was the I AM LEGEND of reality television. It's good to know there are others who feel like I do.

Got an idea!! Let's keep the "ANTI-REALITY-TV" campaign going, shut the T.V. off and just watch the NEIGHBORS!! Although I have nosey, nasty, ugly neighbors, I really don't cherish the thought of watching them cohabitate. EEEW! In fact I'm seriously considering sneaking over there at night and instaling blinds on the outside of their windows!

The only acceptable REALITY T.V. should be NEWS & SPORTS!

The only time I ever turned on American Idol there was a large woman in a chicken suit. I thought "no thanks" and turned the channel. My sisters won't even answer the phone when survivor is on. I don't get it but, to each his own, I guess.
I can't complain about what others watch when I still watch soap operas myself. I know they are stupid but I get caught up in them anyway.
I mean, how many times can one person DIE and keep coming back? One even died in his wife's arms, his organs were donated, and he came back as a GHOST a few times. And yet, somehow, 20 years later he's alive after all. WHY do I watch? I don't know, maybe I'm nuts.

I was born and raised in Suitland, Maryland. A true suburbanite. I have a pet pirahna fish named Tragedy who's been with me since 1994. I work as a statistician, but I hate math. I am a die hard Washington Redskins fan. Sean Taylor#21 will always be a god to me. I love sci-fi movies. Particularly, Star Wars. I love all music but neo-soul and east-coast hip hop is my choice. I hate reality television shows. Besides, my lovely wife, my 3 favorite women in the world are Halle Berry, Jill Scott and FOX 5's Allison Seymour. These lovely women can do no wrong in my eyez.
