I found this story on the wires this morning and found myself wanting to do something to challenge a stereotype (and/or drink a beer)!

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Don't call this brewmaster, "Mister." Tonya Cornett is the first woman to win the brewmaster award at the World Beer Cup sponsored by the Brewers Association. She says she lost her voice so she couldn't scream, but the tears were flowing. Cornett is a brewer at Oregon's Bend Brewing Company. She says she still runs into the stereotype of a brewmaster being a bearded guy. She adds at a recent trade show no one would take her seriously. But Cornett hopes her brewmaster award will inspire more young women to think of beer-making as a career.

So if you could do one thing that is traditionally done by the opposite sex... what would it be?

Grow some really nice hooters. You asked!!

Sorry, could not resist. I actually do not think that women do things any better than men and vice-versa. The individual is the one that makes the choice of what they enjoy and pursue to do. And if you really enjoy something, you will get really good at it.

As a man, if I can enjoy one perk that a woman has it would be...

...going out with someone KNOWING they will pay for my every expense! LoL

Starrman 1; Do you really believe that Anika Sorenstam can compete with Tiger Woods? Of course there are physical inequities between the sexes! That's why we celebrate the differences!

Now, Holly, if I could invade a typically female institution (in my imagination) it would have to be SECRETARY. Where else can you impose the boss's authority without the experience, education or position? That said, secretaries perform an invaluable service to a corporate institution, however, they can sometimes be overwhelming in their arrogance!

Considering that women used to hate beer, this is really a role model. Beer is a great medical aid. It's just grain juice when you think about it. I settled on Killigan's Irish Red myself. Until Adams created that Winter brew. So now that it's summertime, back to Killigan's. I'll never forget one visit to the Smithsonian when at the African tribe window, an elementary scoutmaster was reading the signs which said that African babies drank beer. He added, "Of course we don't do that in the USA. Only in Africa."

Well, it's quite simple. Nurses and secretaries used to be males. When females got equal opportunity the males and secretaries departed. Hmmm, hmmm. The bartenders, they are achanging. Pretty soon the males will not have to work at all :0 In fact, all stage females were males. Brain stop it, it's hurting.

Actually women brewers is nothing new. During the Middle Ages and the Enlightment, there were women who not only brewed but owned their own brew houses. So, while this might seem like an "accomplishment" it isn't.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a female "accomplishment" yadda yadda yadda, but while we are celebrating this woman, don't disrespect those women of the past who were the true pioneers of womens rights by ignoring them completely.

Be able to work at a job requiring no college degree for 4-6 hours a day and make $50.00 an hour like these alcoholic, druggie construction workers do. Then, come home and have someone there with dinner waiting, laundry done and housework done.
Who says women have equal rights?
