Brian Bolter's Blog

Scolding the media finally pushed me into the Clinton Fatigue Camp. A selfish final straw I admit. But as a registered independant ... in a state that doesn't allow independants to vote in either primary  ... I've maintained an open mind when it comes to all candidates. I have no dog in this fight yet. (Although for full disclosure ... I do miss Ron Paul mixing it up in this election. I GET how rabid his supporters can be.)  But my lack of relatables came to a screeching halt when Bill Clinton stuck that now infamous finger into the lens of a camera yesterday and berated the media for "taking this primary election away from the South Carolina voters." And we all know by now ... that long, pale finger in your face equals shady, word parsing and veiled dishonesty. This tongue lashing was no different.

What was Bill referring to? Media questions about his negative campaigning on behalf of Hillary. Someone likened his actions to Lee Atwater ... and that set the former president into a tizzy. Saying Barack Obama put a "hit job" on him. "Do you think the people of South Carolina care about that?" he asked the reporter. "You're taking this election away from them" he declared. "Shame on you!" Actually Bill ... shame on you!  Bill was clearly ignoring the fact that Hillary wasn't even IN South Carolina anymore despite a primary  three days away. It seems to me THAT'S what South Carolina voters really did care about. And instead, Bill Clinton was hanging around in the state to lower expectations for his wife and their (yes I refer to her candidacy in the plural) expected loss. Classic Clinton. Only it's from the Bill playbook we're all so familiar with. It's starting to look like Hillary's campaign has a dusty copy it constantly refers to now.

More examples abound. But that ruined Bill's participation in this process for me. Who would have thought George H. W. Bush set the standard for "Supporting Role" in a familial presidential race? The elder Bush didn't disparage John Mccain eight years ago. He didn't tell the press to "read my lips" ... reminding so many of what they disliked so much about his tenure. Instead, Bush Sr. heaped praise on his son and stayed above the fray. To a further extent, he served as dignified glue holding his party together as candidates bickered among themselves for the nomination.

But Bill is making this election personal. It's about him. And all I can think of now is ... thank the heavens for term limits ... because now I remember why I had enough of him. I'm tired Mr. President. Fatigued. Think you can step aside and let the real candidate fight her own battles? We're seeing how John Edwards acts when facing a primary defeat this weekend. Wouldn't It would be nice to see what HILLARY would do as she faces ... say ... a primary defeat in South Carolina. Or maybe we are.

I'm fatigued with all the current candidates and not to mention severe fatigue with the current administrations behaviors. That includes the whole bunch of good for nothings that keep the seats warm on Capital Hill and the White House. NONE of them deserve to be there and the current ones vying, they don't deserve it either.

Brian, Hill and Bill think we who vote have short memories. If she wins, God forbid, we'll get 4 more years of that sanctimonious, smirking cracker whom she cannot control. What a bum deal. I know a good woman could be a good president---think of Golda Meier or Margaret Thatcher. However, neither Bill nor Hillary is a good person, and we don't need them back in the White House. Just ask Vince Foster. Oh wait, he's dead now, isn't he?

I'm a big, huge fan of Bill Clinton. I'm not to familure with Obama. I'ts my opinon that Former (Former) President Clinton is not running for President. Sen. Clinton looks week having Pres. Clinton "Defend his carpet bagging little lady" who I'm sure he feels indebted to. Sir, if you love your wife; Let her win or loose on her own.

I thought you were cool before, but now, you are THE COOLEST! I couldn't agree more with you. Its as if she's the puppet and he's the puppet master! I truly hope Obama wins the nomination and the presidency. We need someone who is honestly dedicated to us, the people!

Thank you Brian!! I have been a very dedicated Democrat who used to admire the Clinton's. I am not sure who I will vote for but one thing I do know - it will not be Senator Clinton!! What happened to the idea of actually debating the issues and taking a stand for what you believe. I am sick of phony candidates who throw trash at their opposition when they get threatened. I am also an African American Woman. I take strong offense to those who consider me to be so ignorant that I would vote for someone because they are African American (or married to an "Honorary" African American). For the first time Brian, I may join you on the Independent side!!

Take care!!

The Clinton's still have unpaid taxes due from their Whiter water land scandal. If there unable to take care of their own responsibility then why should we think they can take care of the country???

Obamba smoked crack so I think that's enough to do him in.

...the exchange of Obama and Clinton trashin' at one another worked for me also to bring to the front clearer understanding of who these two candidates are, "teachergirl1"...

I think there is enough pressure running a campaign without either side having to resort to the messy poltics that we have seen in the last few days. I understand that each candidate want to win but is the cost really worth it in the end.

Bill and Hillarious:If Hillary wins in 2008 and Bill is 'appointed' to fill her Senate seat and either live to retire 'they' (together or alone) would get two US Presidential retirement checks, two US Senate retirement checks, and a retirement check from the State of Arkansas About the only thing they MIGHT NOT get is a Social Security check, but I wouldn't bet on it. Ole Billy has earned $40,000,000 in the past six years. Hillarious Rotten Clinton, as a New York State Senator, now comes under the 'Congressional Retirement and Staffing Plan,' which means that even if she never gets reelected, she STILL receives her Congressional salary until she dies. (Would it not be nice if all Americans were pension eligible after only 4 years? If Bill outlives her, he then inherits HER salary until HE dies. He is already getting his Presidential salary until he dies. If Hillary outlives Bill, she also gets HIS salary until she dies. Guess who pays for that?
It's common knowledge that in order for her to establish NY residency, they purchased a million dollar-plus house in upscale Chappaqua.
Here is where it becomes interesting. Their mortgage payments hover at around $10,000 per month. BUT, an extra residence 'had' to be built within the acreage to house the Secret Service agents. BTW, they are entitled to Secret Service protection for life. The Clintons also charge the Federal government $10,000 monthly rent for the use of that extra residence, which is about equal to their mortgage payment. This means that we, the taxpayers, are paying the Clinton's salary, mortgage, and transportat

Bill and Hillarious CONTINUED;
paying the Clinton's salary, mortgage, and transportation. Hey that seems fair, wouldn't it be great if some or all of us "common" folks could get that kind of retirement benefits?
