There will be thousands on top of thousands of PEOPLE heading down to Jena, LA on Wednesday 9/19/07.  There will be buses leaving from Alexandria, VA heading down there.  There will be other points in the area that will carry thousands from this area down there.

What about the rest of us that can not go?  How will we be able to support them?

SIMPLE!

Every PERSON that feels strongly about this issue will be wearing all black on THURSDAY 9/20/07 to show their support for this social injustise.

Please show your support ladies and gents!  I hope and pray that WE ALL show our support!

Do you think we will get a large showing of black attire in this area?  Yes?  No?   Why?

...would've been nice "smoo0v" if the black community had had the same intensity of support for the Duke students who were falsely accused...you recall how much your donation was to their defense fund?? ...so what have got now, what I'd felt was a healing of racial attitudes but it looks as though that isn't what too much of the black citizenry cares to work on ...here we go again!...

I wear mostly dark colors to work anyway. Who'd notice? It's not like anybody will take that action as some sort of protest.

I don't think many will bother, most folks know the Jena6 beat someone unconscious, and figure there's no excuse to commit a crime, especially by a mob.

Smoov, not sure what kind of response you thought you were going to get. This area is just as racist - they just hide behind computer screens. A non-biased mind could look at the facts and see there was/is something horribly wrong. That's probably why you have so many non-Blacks in support of the protest. What the h3ll the Duke case has to do with this is beyond me. Those born with the sense of 'entitlement' will NEVER understand and that's why racism will never end!

I understand what you mean DebaterPro. That's why I came from behind my computer to show who I am. I'm not afraid of my views and fear no backlash for what they are.

Grandillusion....you just showed me even futher you have no clue about WHY that beat down happened. From you post...it are showing me that you THINK it was just 6 black students beating up on an innocent white kid. (in your case.....again.)

Beagle_buddy...what does the Duke case has to do with the price of tea in China?

Priveye...I swear...your back handed humor is so hilarious. It's hard to be mad at you bro.

Even though I do not condone any forms a violence at any point, I do know the diffence between a school yard brawl vs. an attempted murder charge in court with a questionable prosecuter, jury, and judge. There are small hick towns like his all over the USA. It's just time to show that there will be no more standing by and letting these type of people in these towns get away with what they want.

Smoov should have well known.....

Agree with all you said DebaterPro.

btw, Smoov, respectfully, I don't feel I need to wear all black to show my support for the Jena 6; my heart and spirit are strongly with them.

WOW!! Big Smooov finally shows back up in his blogs. Where were you in your last blog about this subject?

Once again, why should we show our support for someone that beats people up while on the streets? He needs to be off the streets for crying out loud.

Well Kelly...do you know how the fight got started? I bet you don't. If you did...you wouldn't have wrote down what you've written. Go back and read about it...and then come back with a CORRECTION.

Don't be afraid to express your views. The attire represents that you are aware of what's going on and you are one of many that will not stand for this type of injustice anymore.

"smooov" if you can't read then there's little or no prospect we're lookin' at a meetin' of the minds...once more slowly in a slightly different framing of my point,

***just how much of an outcry did you raise at the treatment of the students in the Duke case?? or were you supportin' the accuser ***

"Well Kelly...do you know how the fight got started? I bet you don't. If you did...you wouldn't have wrote down what you've written. Go back and read about it...and then come back with a CORRECTION."

The fight was started because the white kid called the black kids some names. Just because someone calls you names gives you NO right to beat up someone else. Once again, parents need to start teaching their kids "sticks and stones make break my bones but names....."
If you are refering to the fact that there were nooses hung, no one knows for sure that that had anything to do with this fight. And even IF that white kid did hand the nooses, that gives NO ONE any right to beat him up. Its wrong to name call and to hang nooses, but that still no excuse for violence.
And one of these kids is no newbie to the law. So why has he been arrested multiple times for assault? Or is that someone elses fault too?

No correction neccessary

Smooov...I've read blogs before from Kelly. She doesn't get nor will she ever. There are some people who don't want to look at the whole picture...and they will always be that way. Those who are in agreement that the punishment does not fit the crime will be wearing black tomorrow. Those are are not in agreement won't. Also, Kelly, what does OJ have to do with the injust system in Jena, LA? Funny, some people are always bringing OJ into the picture like he represents every Black person in America. Well, FYI...he dates and socializes with White people. Maybe his behavoir can be blamed on them??? Come on, he no more represents all Black people than Jeffrey Dahmer, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, The Unibomber, and the West Virginia family holdig a Black woman captive represent all White people. Let's try and stick to the subject matter at hand...the injustices taking place in this country towards ANYBODY regardless of race, sex, or religious affiliation.

Who on earth said that OJ represents black people? No, my point was since we are supposed to support people that beat other people up then we should support everyone who is obviously guilty. So, why not support OJ too?

And I NEVER said that the punishment fits the crime. Prove it since you all keep accusing me of it. No I keep saying that people want him out of jail and not punished. So lets all let this guy out of jail to beat more people up since he keeps doing it anyway right?

Smoov,

I will have on my black in support for the Jena and for the death of injustice. I am quite sure that all of here have been involved or know someone who was involved in some type of school fight. It never starts off as an "attack". Usually something is said that is highly offensive to someone and a fight starts, from there your friends join in, it gets broken up by the authorities, you go to the principle office everybody involved gets suspended and then you go back to school when it's over, you see each other in the hall, you do the stare down thing and move on. However in this case, 3 nooses where hung on a tree that the WHITE STUDENTS felt was only for them, no Blacks should sit under that tree. So do you think that that was a prank or a direct way of saying "*igga we gonna kill you. "

Are these people living in the Jim Crow era or what?

So for all of you out there who think that we are supporting someone getting their butt kicked for something the white students started go and read the entire stroy from begining to end and see if you will change your mind.

And as far as the Duke case goes, blacks where in support of the Duke boys once it came out the prosecuter was using them for political gain and he was disbarred and is cutrrently about to go to jail again but this time for 3-5 years. So get the facts straight on that. And if you didn't know the Duke boys are going down to Louisana to support the Jena 6.

All ya'll need to go READ!

Kelly...you are still oblivious to this issue. AS A BLACK MAN....IF SOMEONE HANGS A NOOSE WERE I WAS/AM.....THAT MEANS SOMEONE IS THREATENING TO KILL ME.

There's your black history lesson that you wasn't taught in school. That's something that's known. Now...with that...plus someone calling you racsist names....trust me...you're on edge.

You're talking about this kids should've had proper parenting. WHAT ABOUT THE WHITE KID WHO CALLED HIM THOSE NAMES? Let me let you in on another secret....the white kid didn't learn that behavior off of Seseame Street!!!
