Where can and EXPERT "Texas Hold 'em" player find a local game in the DC/MD/VA area?

The game of poker has grown wings and have taken off like a wild eagle!  Every sports channel you turn too, you see a high stakes game going on by some of the legends.  I remember  when Coyote Ugly in downtown DC was open, they had games on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Now that they are closed, i don't see anymore games around.

Where are all of my fellow experts?  Talk to me!  Where is the competition?

The comments that Charles R. Black Jr. made further supports our theory that the republiCANTS want to play the fear card to boaster their chances at the White House!

The senior advisor for the John McSAME camp said "A terror attack on the United States would be a big advantage for Sen. John McCain in the presidential campaign."

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?

A stratagy to show that McSAME has a stronger knowledge of international policies is to have another terrorist attack on the US?

Bill Burton (a spockesman from Obama's campaign) is looking foward to a debate about terrorism with McSAME and called the words of Mr Black "a complete disgrace."  Burton noted that McSAME has "fully supported the Bush policies that have taken our eye off of al Qaeda, failed to bring Osama bin Laden to justice and made us less safe."

Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del) is the chairman of of the Foreign Relations Committee.  He said "For the McCain campaign to say it would benefit politically from another 9/11 attack is disgraceful.  That Mr. Black would even think in those terms, let alone express the thought publicly, is very sad.     .......The politics of fear have no place in our national life."

Is this what it has come down to in order to win the White House?  The killing of Americans just to move up on the polls?  Well...Bush is still in office and over 4,000 of our service men and women died over a war that  Bush pushed onto the Americans because of fear.

No Sen. McSAME.....I don't need any more of the same Bush BS!  Obama '08!!!!!

Was Mr. Black's comments taken out of context?  Is this a preview of what's to come if McSAME is elected?  Politics ran by fear?

You would think that Imus would know how to project his thought into the proper words by now.  As we all know, Imus previously came under fire for his comments about the Rutgers woman's basketball team.  We was later put back on the air waves.

On 6/23/08, Don was on the the air and was told Dallas newly acquired defensive back has been arrested six times since being drafted in 2005.  Imus asked, "What color is he?"   When Imus was told that Adam 'Pacman' Jones was black, Imus clearly said "Well there you go.  Now we know."

WHAT!?!?!?!?

Later on, Imus attempted to clean up his mess by saying he was implying "...Jones as being targeted..."

REALLY!?!?!?

Here is my question.  Was Imus words being totally taken out to contexts?  Is Imus just showing us how he really is since he did it before?

Recently, Rhee fired 24 principals and 22 assistant pricipals.   Teachers are gettting thier pink slips also.

Close your eyes.  You are an excellent educator.  Taught by the best schools.  You took on the challenge of teaching in an inner city school because you are confident in what your abilities are and feel you can make a difference.  You have a classroom full of underperforming kids.  For two years in a row, your kids failded to meet the federal standard set by "No Child Left Behind."  You are fired because of this.

Is this really fair to the teachers or the principals?  Should they be fired for the kids lack of focus?  Is the blame being shifted in the wrong direction?  Well, Bush's "No Child Left Behind" act says it is.  Sen. John McSAME thinks so also.

Would you fire good teachers and principals because the kids don't care?

I find Ward 5 to be one of the stranges locations in DC.  You can literally be on one side of the street that is clean and full of well-to-do people.  As soon as you cross the street, you can be in a haven for crime and drugs.  For example, in the NE Capital Hill side (near Maryland Ave for those that don't know) you have professional's of all ages.  Very hard working respectable people that care about their community.  Now....when you cross H Street towards the Trinidad area.....DUCK AND RUN!!!!

The past couple of weekends, Chief Lanier ordered a check point in certain areas of the Trinidad area.  This method was created to deter crime because (it is said) most of the crime was/is created by people that live outside of the neighborhood.  This is true with most of the crime that is commited in DC.  Some have welcomed the program with open arms.  The others have felt that their "civil liberties are being violated."

Now let me get this straight.  You feel somewhat violated because the police want to deter crime in your area?  How do you feel when the criminals are running rampid in the area?  We can all imagine which group feel their "civil liberties" are threatened.  The people that actually know the criminals!

Like my grandmother once told me, "Everyone wants to go to heaven.  They don't want to do what they have to do in order to get there."  Some of the people that live in this area want their streets to be safer but don't want to go to this extreme to acheive this.  I'm sorry if some disagree with me on this one but you have to do what's neccessary in order to achieve a goal.  Sometimes the hardest decision is the best in the long run.

Do you think this is going too far?  Would you allow police to block off your neighborhood and check every car that comes through?  My answer?  Yes!!!

We still have a long wat to go ladies and gents.

The Washington Post reports the attacks on the small campaign offices for Obama all around the country.  Is this how we are still handling politics in America?  All for what?  Not because he is less intellegent (because he's very educated).  Not because they don't think he would be a good choice for president (voters say otherwise everyday).

All because he is black!!!!

Everything from vandalizing campaign offices to calling teenagers holdings signs along a busy highway in support the "n" word!  Is this how conservatives handling the elections these days?

The statue of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. showed an image of him with his arms folded and a stern serious look in his face.    The US Commission of Fine Arts felt that the "stiffly frontal image, static in pose, confrontational in character..."  was inappropriate and sugested to have it reworked.  No project can continue without the commission's approval by law.

Are you kidding me?

The image that is/was currently under construction was one of him taken out of a magazine.

I understand that many people have their own image of MLK through speaches and pictures in many different articles.  So you can't please everyone.  But come on now!  It's considered "confrontational" when he is standing with his arms folded with a serious look on his face?  What do they want?  Him smiling and dancing?  He couldn't be passive back when he was fighting for civil rights for all.

What do you think?  Is this another stall tactic? Do you think The US Commission of Fine Arts feel that this statue would make "other people" feel a little "uneasy?"

As a resident of Ward 5 in DC, I've seen a lot of positives changes.  We now have little cafes' all over the place where you can sit outside to eat and drink.  We have some of the streets being fixed.  Buildings that haven't seen activities since the riots of '68 are now hot spots for social gatherings.

As the old saying goes "The more some things change, the more they stay the same."

In Washington DC alone, 18 people have been murdered in the month of April.   Everyone from drug dealers, harmless bystanders, to a tourist that just wanted to use the ATM.  Most of these killings were in the Ward 5 area.

Residence blame it on lack of positive activities that will distract the youth from negativitiy.  My repsonse to that is....WHY IS IT SOMEONE ELES RESPONSIBLITY TO RAISE YOUR CHILD!?!?!!?  YOU HAD THE CHILD!  IT'S YOUR REPSONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE A WAY FOR YOUR CHILD TO DEVELOPE PROPERLY!

Other residence blame it on the lack of police presence in their communities.  My response to that is....WE HAD A "ALL HANDS" ON DECK AND STUFF STILL HAPPENED! TRY HELPING THE POLICE OUT BY LETTING THEM KNOW WHAT YOU SAW!!!!

As a father of a 10 year old boy,  I make sure that he is involved in activities outside of his community.  My son doesn't go outside of our home to play with the other kids.  I have a problem with children his age outside past 8:30 playing ON A SCHOOL NIGHT! So no...he will not play with those kind of kids who come from stupid parents.  Nothing agaist the kids...at that age...they are a product of their home environment.  Why would they let their kids play out there that late unattendant knowing what kind of neighborhood these kids are in?  I guess you don't have any fear when you know who the bad seeds are.  OOOOPS...DID I SAY THAT?

If you want your neighborhood to function like others, WORK TOWARDS IT BY TAKING PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!!!  It really burns me up seeing all of these people complaining about what's going on in their communities but don't want to talk to police about what they KNOW is foul in the areas.  Go to the more "well-to-do" places.  When they see something that's going on...you can best beleive they are on that phone calling the police.

(To my outsiders looking in) If you were the mayor...Realistically....how would you suggest taking care of the troubled communities?

Give your answer as if our mayor, ward representatives, and police department will be reading your suggestions.

Throughout history, animals have been used for competitive sport.  Majority of the time, it's for profitable gains $$$$.

What happens after they can no longer perform the task they were intended to do?

Last year I was driving along one of the rural areas of VA and I pulled over to some little run down shack of a gas station/snack shop.  I over heard the cashier and the customer talk about the dog the customer had that can no longer be used for hunting.  The cashier asked the customer, "When are you going to take him into the woods and put him down?"  The customer just replied "I'm on the way now."  I looked at the dog that was still in the truck and wondered what was wrong with it.  It didn't look diseased or act violent when I walked past the truck.  I asked the cashier why was he going to kill him.  The cashier responded "It's getting too old to hunt."

WHAT!?!?!?!?!

The insident at the Kentucy Derby reminded me of that little story.  When Eight Belle went down, she was "euthenized."  The owner thought it was the "humane" thing to do.

Don't let me get on Rodeos though.  I can type forever on that one.

Now....answer me this...........

What was the difference between what Michael Vick was involved in, what the Kentucky Derby just allowed, what Rodeos do all the time, and what the VA hunter did?

Something isn't right American....something isn't right!

This week marks the 5 year anniversay of Bush announcing "Mission Accomplish" on a ship wearing his military outfit and also wearing one of the biggests smiles you can imagine!  ha ha ha ha

Fast forward 5 years to this present day.  Over 4000 lives, enough money to feed and house every underserved family in the USA, and no end in sight.

How out of touch was this guy?  LoL  Two years after that....remember this one..."BROWNIE IS DOING A HECK OF A JOB!"  HA HA HA The Katrina situation really showed how out of touch he is.  A week later "Brownie" resigned.  Wasn't really experienced and he was in the same frat. as Bush.

Anyway....what is your opinion of the "Mission Accomplish" statement?  LoL

On September 17, 2007, two officers took it upon themselves to search for a minibike that was stolen out of one of the officer's garrage.  The officers spotted the minibike that DeOnte' Rawlings was riding at the time.  After a gun battle broke out, DeOnte' was pronounced dead as an end result.

A lot of wild speculations came out of this.  Some said the officers shot first (DC sound cameras proved otherwise).  Family and friends said DeOnte' never carried a gun (Whatever).  Fenty took a lot of heat from the police department for paying for this young man's funeral.

All I know is I'M GLAD THE OFFICERS GOT OFF!!!!  Seriously, add up all the factors!

A 14 year old boy with a HISTORY (already) with police encounters.  He was known for skipping school and getting involved with the wrong crowd.  There was a time when officers brought the child back home after one ordeal and the father clearly said "Y'all take him...I can't do nothing with him."

Clearly the family dropped the ball with this kid.  CHECK THIS OUT THOUGH...the family still have a $100 million dollar lawsuit against the District pending (yeah right....good luck on that one)!!!  Some people...I swear.  How are you going to sue a city because you sucked as a parent?  Give me a break!

What do you think?  Do you think these officers should do time?  Do you think the decision not to place federal charges against the men was valid?

As you ride around the DC area, you would notice a change.  A person that once lived in DC 10 years ago would come back now and probably go into a shock.    What once were low income public housing projects are now condos.  What were once run down buildings from the riots of '68 are now social lounges and bars along the H St. corridor.  Single families are slowly being replaced with young professional "empty nesters." An abandoned wharehouse area is now the home of the new National's Stadium.  The financial crisis in DC from 10 years ago has turned around to a multi-million dollar surplus.  Yep...this beautiful city has definitly turned itself around......BUT FOR WHO!?!?

We all heard that old saying.  It's the one that goes "The more some things change, the more they stay the same."  That phrase comes to mind as I continued to look around the city's "change."  The DC public schools are still going through their issues.  The city is still demographically divided by either race and/or income brackets.  Murders and violent crimes are still high amoung the city's black  youth.  It's also getting to a point where some of the long time residence from the city are slowly finding themselves in a finacially strapped situation.  They are trying to continue living in the city with the high housing taxes and just the cost of living going up fast.   Which brings me right back to my original question.

Who's really feeling the economical boom of the District of Columbia?

In the Washington Post on April 14th an artical mentioned that 1 out of 3 working class families in DC are considered "The working Poor."  These are the people that work a legitimate job but still struggling to make ends meet.  Sure there are more jobs opening around the city...but lets just look at those jobs...shall we?   The Congress Hieghts development boast a new Target store which hired hundreds of people.  Come on now!!!  How much do you think they are getting paid?   National's New Stadium hired hundreds.  Do you really think that a ticket taker's salary will enable them to buy a home in DC?  The poorly monitored job training programs in DC are only equiped to train people for low end jobs that keeps the poor and under educated on the lower end of the "ECONOMICAL BOOM."

I'm all for people taking the initiative within themselves to change their surroundings and stop their finger pointing.  At the same time, when I look at schools in certain areas that have career programs that prepare their students to take advantage and achieve in the current economical change vs. other schools that are teaching students to be "dependant slaves" to the economical swing....I have to really ask this question.

WHO IS INTENDED TO PROSPER IN THIS ECONOMICAL SWING?

Katrina Disaster:

1) Fema  -  5 days and 268 deaths to respond AFTER storm passed.

2) Stadium  -  Living H*LL conditions.

3) Insurance Agencies  -  screwing people out of financial help.

4) News Coverage  -  Focused more on the behavior of the victums rather than why help wasn't getting to the people.

CA Fires:

I know what some of you are saying, "What's his point?"  If you have to ask that question, then I'll just pray for you.

Why the two different locations are getting two different forms of attention?  (This ought to be good)

A woman was sexually abused, beaten and humiliated while being held captive in a home for at least a week, sheriff's officials said Monday after making six arrests

Those arrested (included a mother and son and a mother and daughter) are white.  The victum, a Charleston woman was being treated at a hospital Monday, is black.  The FBI plans to investigate it as a possible hate crime

WELL DUUUUUUUUUUGH!!!

"The things that were done to this woman are just indescribable,"  Logan County sheriff's Sgt. Sonya Porter said.

Deputies found the 23-year-old victim Saturday after going to the home in Big Creek, about 35 miles southwest of Charleston, to investigate an anonymous tip.  One of the suspects, Franki Brewster, was sitting on the front  porch and told deputies she was alone, but moments later the victim limped towards the door, her arms outstretched, saying "HELP ME," the sheriff's department said in a news release.

Besides being sexually assaulted, the victim had been stabbed four times in the left leg and beaten, Porter said.  Both of her eyes were black and blue.  The woman's wounds were inflicted at least a week ago, deputies said.

During her capture, the victim was forced to eat rat and dog feces and drink from the toilet, according to the criminal complaint filed in magistrate court.  The woman also had been choked with a cable cord and her hair cut.

One of those arrested, KAREN BURTON, is accused of cutting the woman's ankle with a knife.  She used the "N-word" in telling the woman she was victimized because she is black, according to the criminal complaint.

Deputies say the woman was also doused with hot water while being sexually assaulted.  The Associated Press gernerally does not identify suspected victims of sexuall assault.

The sheriff's department requested the FBI's participation, said agent Jay Bartholomew.

The six suspects were arrested Saturday and Sunday.  Deputies were still trying to determine whether the victim knew her assailants and how she came to be at Brewster's home, Porter said.

Frankie Brewster, 49, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding, and giving false information during a felony investigation.

Her son, Bobby R. Brewster, 24, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and assault during the commission of a felony.

Her daughter Alisha Burton, 23, of Chapmanville, and Geoge A. Messer, 27, of Chapmanville, are charged with assault during the commission of a felony and battery.

Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, is charged with sexual assault and malicious wounding.

All six were held Monday in lieu of $100, 000 bond each, and all have asked for court-appointed public defenders.

I WANT TO SEE HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR FOX TO CARRY THIS STORY!!!!!!!
