Here's a sad story that shows none of us is immune during these tough economic times...

It seems Ed McMahon, who for decades appeared as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show," is fighting to avoid foreclosure on his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills home.

McMahon is said to be $644,000 behind on payments on $4.8 million in mortgage loans. The Wall Street Journal reported  that 85 year old  McMahon hasn't  been unable to work since he broke his neck 18 months ago.

From reviewing the news, tough times didn't play into his possible foreclosure. He's in foreclosure because he couldn't work due to an illness. We can't blame everything on the sign of the times.

Realizing that he has a totally different lifestyle than man, I have to ask - what happen to all the money he made while on the Johnny Carson show, Publisher's Clearing House and the other gigs he had?

I agree with 'my 2 cents'.. surely he must have had some money somewhere set aside--not being uncaring, but this is a little hard to believe. Well maybe some of his friends with finances will help him out. Doenst he have some things..memorabilia--to sell? I'll watch Larry King tonite..and see what he has to say.

I thought I read somewhere that his wife had a high end designer business. Is she no longer working?

Allison, I wanted to ask you why you don't wear the wet look in your hair anymore. I met you in Downtown Silver Spring about yrs ago and you had the wet look for the summer and it was beautiful. It was about the same length if not a little longer than your hair now and I said she is wearing it well and it looked so easy to manage. I hope to see it again because it brought the wet look back.

Take care and continue to keep your spirit high on fox 5 ** Sandy I watch as often as I can!

Let's hope Ed's friends will learn of his problems and go to his assistance. If Johnny was around, you know he would help. There are some really rich people out there who do have hearts and have helped others in similar situations. Perhaps they could have a big "Star Search" or some such just for Ed. Let's hope some of the wealthier stars will quietly help.
