Hi everybody...this morning (5/16) we had a story about Portia DeRossi and Ellen DeGeneres getting married not that California has ruled the ban on same sex  marriage unconstitutional.  Anyway my brush with Portia DeRossi some seven years ago (while the actress was on Ally McBeal) was brought up on the show and I said I would blog about it.

I'm making good on that..sort of.  Let's just say she wasn't that nice to me after I complimented her on how cute her dogs were that she was carrying.  I was bothered by her diva attitude back then but these days it's taught me a greater lesson.

Sometimes you carry grudges against people who have NO IDEA that they have offended you.  She doesn't know me from a hole in the wall but I took it personally.  The lesson for me here...forgive, it much easier than carrying dislike in your heart.

I forgive you Portia and myself for holding a stupid grudge.

Allison,

Maybe you're right, but that still doesn't give her the right to be rude. So I'm thinking you should possibly adopt the "forgive but never forget" mentality.

Allison, that's the difference between you and Portia. She is a semi-celebrity on the fringes of things, getting some notoriety. She evidently pictured herself as a diva the day you met her.

You, on the other hand, are a real person with a real fan base in the most powerful city in the world. And yet, you still see yourself as a normal, regular person. That's what comes across when I watch you and I think it would be hard to fake.

I could be wrong, but I think I'd rather have you as a friend and neighbor than her. You've already triumphed by being a better lady. Don't discount the good influence you have on the people who watch you everyday, and the good you do for the community!

GrandmaM,

You are absolutely right. Allison definitely comes across as a down-to-earth, normal person who is very approachable. And you're right about her fan base. We love her. No worries Allison, you're one of the main reasons I watch FOX 5. haha
