Matt McConaughey as the new Thomas Magnum?? Really?  We recently reported on the midday that they are indeed making the hit tv show into a major motion picture.  What's more is they have tapped Matt for the lead.

Now as a big time fan of Magnum P.I. and say NO!!!  IT'S A MISTAKE!  I just can't see him in the role made famous by Tom Selleck!

SO instead of just complaining, I'm offering a solution...cause its not too late Hollywood...Hugh Jackman as Magnun!

Thoughts?

Nah.....Jackman does not possess the sex appeal of Selleck. What about a brand new heretofore unheard of actor who has coloring like Selleck, aged around 38 to 40, drop dead gorgeous, great sense of humor...but not perfect. Hmmm....No...not Jackman. LOL Okay...senior moment. The name escapes me...How about the guy that starred in The Wedding Date...apologize that I can't grasp his name here at 3:24 A.M....can anyone remember the guy's name???? He's not perfect....so, he'd be simply perfect!

Geez, Hollyweird is SOOOOO out of ideas, creative management, and class, it's no wonder they are crashing and burning.

I wonder what other poor casting will follow?

Rick - Will Ferrell?
T.J. - Wesley Snipes... (how about Omar Epps?)
Higgins - Christopher Eccleston, Hugh Laurie, maybe Chris Barrie.

Ah yes, my heart started racing every time I visited my granddaughter in N.J. because I looked forward to seeing the Marlboro Man. I don't get hooked on people, but that guy really got to me. That huge billboard was the highlight of the N.J. Turnpike. A couple of years later the whole world recognized him. I said to myself, being against smoking all my life, shame on me, but sometimes principles go by the way side. Tom Selleck was one wonderful exception.

Another anecdote. It was in diction class, 2002, and we had to read a selection expressing romantic love. I said that was impossible for me. They said well think of some famous man. Immediately it was Magnum PI. Turns out I wasn't alone. Other older women agreed with me. I gave a very good presentation about feeling romantic. Wonder if they will present the new guy on a Billboard;)
