Ok...what do you think?  Did you agree with Paula who told Brooke, don't ever stop during a performance.  Or Simon who basically called it gutsy for Brooke to ask the band to start over because she "lost the words?"

That's one thought after last night's performances..the other is Man, what a voice on that David Cook!

Besides the false start of Brooke, I didn't think her performance was that good.  I think she will be going back home after tonight's elimination show.

I agree with Simon. To begin with, this is a competition. It's my opinion that her performance last night should have disqualified her for the evening and automatically put her in the bottom three (along with Jason who definitely belongs there).
But did David Cook ever WOW me last night. That's the first time I've gotten goose bumps this year. It seemed that he was singing only to me--he sure got the eye contact right last night.

That was unfortunately Brooke's second false start this season. I guess it's better to start over than to just sit there looking blank or giggling with embarassment, but no other contestant in the history of Idol has done this even once, much less twice. Still, after that, I thought Brooke did a beautiful job with her song. I would have gone for something better-known, but that song turned out to be a great choice for Brooke. The melody has stuck with me even though I never heard it before, which means her performance was effective.

I think tonight should be better for Brooke. Neil Diamond is more her element, and I'm expecting her to shine, along with David Cook, who is going to be a natural with Diamond's music.

I think Brooke was a good singer, esp when she sang country songs. i kinda think that is one of her best elements...but she is history now as fas AI. If she listens to Paula though and continues to pursue...i think she will do well in the music world. we are down to four. Jason should have been long gone (he has too many young girls multiple speed dialing to vote that's keeping him around...it sure is not his singing). Unfortuantely, i think Syesha will go next week, although i think she is a good singer. she has really shinned with some of her last few performances. I think that will leave both David's. They both have great voices. For a little guy like the young one, he sure belts out his songs. I think Cook, for the most part is very good...though pitchy sometimes. Young David is pretty much right on with each sone he sings. The end result will be interesting.

In my humble opinion I believe that Brooke thought/thinks a lot more of herself than others do.

Brooke's vocal range was limited and her creative content was lacking.

Brooke appeared to be a Carly Simon wannabee!
